@ilovelifeAS What a mean and ugly thing to say. When I did this video there weren't any other resin videos on Youtube and there weren't any retail videos. You are wrong I did not take ideas from another video. Your statement is mean and false.
@FunkyTreasures Don't listen to that person. I love your video, and it really helps me! There are just a lot of mean people on the internet, especially because they can say everything they want without having to face you in person. People did it to me lots of times before.
Hi i REALLY need someones help. I used a plastic mold that was made by the same brand as my resin, and its a resin mold. My casts wont come out of the mold! I really need help!!!!
Hello. I'm using Easycast to make some plush toy eyes. I made a mold in sculpey (clay based mold) which messed up the resin. To prevent this from happing again, I put plastic wrap in between the mold and the resin. However, it's been three days and no success in drying! It looks clear, but only a small border around the outside of the mold is partially dry. I forgot to heat the resin before, but the first try dried fast with the mold.
@idrielladyofbattle The EasyCast is clear with out dye. Dye is just to add color. For a SUPER clear we reccomend our SuperClear resin available at wwwDOTresinobsessionDOTcom
i would like to see you dip the items in resin that you discussed in the embedding videos. i am a visual person and can't see how you dipped an item in resin without it dripping everywhere. thanks, i think your videos are wonderful. when can we expect more?
@squelch21 Test first. Always test the resin to see how it reacts with the book. The book may need to be sealed before covering with resin full of rose petals. Test the rose petals also to check for color bleed.
@willy101010 Yes it will bubble easy. No it doesn't do well in a pressure pot. Resin likes 75 degrees so if you mix at this optimal temp you will have less bubbles. Also wood stirrers add bubbles to resin, the wood absorbs moisture, moisture causes more bubbles. The resin will melt some plastics if a large amount is mixed, over 6 ounces.
@indemnis4 I'm afraid the resin would run off and you would have drips. It would be better to make a mold and insert the dowel and pour your resin. You can brush the resin on but again you would have to deal with drips. At the very second the resin hardens it will harden drips in place. Thanks cindy
@MukuCharms It depends on what you are embedding. If it's light like glitter you can add it right away, if it is heavy and you don't want it to sink then you should wait until the previous layer has come to what is called the "gel stage" and then embed. If you need more info just email me with your details. Thanks cindy
hi! great video. i've been having problems with resin though. i can never get my resin out of the molds. i use candy molds and they don't pop out. they just stay stuck. i bought some mold release and it's not working either. do you know what the problem could be? thanks so much!
can I do thin layers when i first start instead of putting an ounce of resin can i put like a small amount of resin an 4 drops of hardener like this lady does on the craftin cast resin and so i can do like embedments in it an put beads in it an then do like 3 layers with it but with small amounts of resin an hardener or do i have to when i start do i have to mix the whole one ounce ?
@DulceSugar3 Are you using the Polyester resin? the one where you have to add "drops" of catalyst? It's more difficult to mix in tiny amounts but give it a try. If it is the Polyester try to use it on a day that is not raining. If it is the EasyCast epoxy resin then yes you can mix in tiny amounts. thanks cindy
I'm using Easy Cast. I mix for 2mins in one cup, poor into second cup and mix again for 2 mins using another stick. It is so frustrating because I will make 25 pieces and then they all come out tacky/sticky, can dig my nail into it. Maybe it is the cups I'm using. They have a lip at the bottom. Please help!
@bingbong1825@bingbong1825 Where do you live? humidity can affect the cure. Sticky castings can be from improper mixing (but it sounds like you are mixing it well) or humidity. Wood stirrers have humidity in them. Tell me more and I will help you thru this. thanks cindy
What happens if you use hot resin? I have a problem with sticky final casts. I mix twice for two minutes each time. Could it be because the resin is too hot?
Hi Cindy, nice video. I never heard of resin until I saw this handcrafted resin bowl on the Restoration Hardware website. How would I go about making one? Thank You
I just bought some Easy Cast today and I am eager to try it out but I'm waiting until I get some of the translucent dye. By the way, this lady is so cute! Ha I cant get enough of her perkiness and spunk. Totally cracking me up with her "ok's" and smiles. As well as her waves of her hands. She's just funny.
Last night i was mising a batch of resin, and i poured enough to fill two heart molds, while i was working on them, i noticed like smoke, or steam or something, i didnt know where it was coming from, then i realized it was coming from the cup of resin i had sat to ther side, i went to go pick it up and it was sooo hot, i poked at it with a popsicle stick and it was hard..not like hard hard, but i couldnt push the stick to the bottom of the cup..why did it do this? it totally freaked me out
This video is on my favorites list and I review it every few months. I have to say your videos are wonderful - simple and straigtforward, very thorough, and taught with a very approachable style - much appreciated!
I tried to mix some epoxy resin before watching your video lol. Now I have half hardened resin it seems. I still wanna try to save this piece.
I has just been less than 24 hours so it still seems sticky. Should I wait or could I just do another layer on top with a better consistent resin mix ????
You are so charming. I am getting ready to do my first resin casting this week, maybe today after watching your video. It gave me some confidence to try. Thank you so much.
I have a question! How long do i need to wait to take the finished resin item our of its mold? Does this time amount change if there is pigment dye in the resin?
Hello, thanks for your videos their very informative! I've been having fun with easycast, but for some reason i've not had much fun cleaning up the mixing cups after im done. I tried the cooking spray, and I couldn't get it all out! Nail polish remover/acetone (smears it) The best I found so far is tide detergent as you mentioned. Does Denatured alcohol remove all of it easily?? I struggle cleaning the bottom! Will dried bits of resin in cups ruin my mixtures if i re-use the cup? thnx so much!
I am looking to start making custom jewelry to benefit a nonprofit organization I volunteer with, and I think this looks really fun! I'll be seeing you on ebay! :)
hi cindy.i am geeting in resin casting.i want to make model truck parts and stuff for firefighting, rescue serivce, and law enforcement parts how do i get started
Cindy, I loved your film clips on resin so much I went and bought me the materials and mold. I poured the resin in my molds Fri. 10pm and Sunday at 8pm tried to pop them out. Well, only one popped out but it was hard. Do you think it is not cured enough??
Well it's hard to say. Did you use mold release? Was it a mold for resin? For thin casts it can take up to 72 hours depending on several conditions such as weather and inclusions. Go to my eBay store ResinObsession and email me from there and let's figure this out. Great Day Cindy
Thank you so much! I am looking to start doing some of my artwork with this and this really helped me with the basic tips. One question though. Once the resin is cast and solid how should I go about placing a small jewelry like eye hook into the resin?
By the way...you are too sweet! Haha! Thanks again! :)
Hey I have a special friends birthday coming up, I was weondering if it would be possible to cast a white rose? as long as there is no chemical reaction that discolors or withers the flower I don't see why it wouldn't work but you know better than i do.
Yes you can cast the rose. It needs to be dry, resin does not like water of any kind, it will cloud the resin. I would "dip" my rose first to "coat" it a little to avoid bubbles around it when you do the casting. Great Day Cindy
Hi! Thanks for sharing. I try to embed paper in my resin designs but I keep getting that wet paper look or discoloring effect...even when I cover the paper with decopauge glue. Is there something eles I can use? Thanks again....God Bless!
Hi, Sorry it's been so long, I'm just now getting the notice to my email. After you coat the paper with glue and it dries are you cutting real close to the edge of the paper? You want to leave an "edge" of glue around the paper that will seal it. I use Aleane (mind block on spelling) Tacky Glue. I also "dip" my papers and let them dry before embedding so I get a little seal coat on them. If you are still having problems after the edge trick email me and lets talk. Great Day Cindy
Adding color it is! I have several in the works. I'm waiting on my work to get published before I post it. Wish me luck. There is one piece I'll be putting in my eBay store RESIN OBSESSION soon. Hugs, Cindy

hello, i have problems making resin pendant too, it shrinks but still looks clear? I don't know how to keep the surface smooth.

@yeranin Resin will mimic the surface it touches. You will need to spary a Resin Spray to get the shine back or you can polish and buff.
