  • Hi Donny,

I watched your video again and did see where you refer to the hose clamp on the makita intake. I have a Wacker which I thought was identical, but based on that clamp, there are some subtle differences, as there is no clamp there remotely like the Makita clamp. On a wacker BTS1035, do you know how to remove that hose and to remove the carb. I've been told that you have to strip the engine as noted in my prior post. Replies to this email would be appreciated!!! tks roversson@hotmail.com

  • Hi Donny,

for the life of me I can find how to remove the carb on this saw so you can remove the cylinder.. Clearly you did that before the video began.

Do you have a video on that for this saw, or could you be so kind as to send me a quick note on how to do it? I know there is a hose clamp that I can't see or access. Others say you have to remove all covers and strip the saw!!!! tks roversson@hotmail.com

  • Hi! I am looking for an electrical diagram for a Concrete Cutter Target Pro Series II, if you have access to one please send me a copy to my email. johnpavon@yahoo.com thanks.

  • nice video dony, they should give a dvd showing this damage when someone buys a saw like this and at the end have it say "and that is why you should maintain your equipment"

  • @pivotboy63 good idea!

  • Hi Dony, I bought a similar saw (makita DPC7100) and I was having trouble finding parts for it. I was wondering where you get your from??

  • @sidhucer00789 u can contact makita online

  • Hello Donny,

thanks to your videos I successfully replaced cylinder, piston and ring on DPC 7311Now I'm just about to install muffler back and I noticed that has two cracks (inside wall) right where the bolts are. Do I have to replace muffler or is not big of the deal?

    Thank you so much.

  • Its weird that when something gets in there, both the cylinder and piston get ruined... why don't they make the cylinder indestructible so we only need to replace the piston (which is cheap).

  • hey dony boy i got a partner k750 thats getting about 130-135 psi but won't start it has spark but its not firing its just flooding the engine and smokes but nothing. have your ever had a problem like this?

  • @rocsvt1 sounds like a carb issue

  • that saw is should have 120-150 PSI compression! and when you looked into the muffler port I noticed that the piston did not look healthy! seems like the owner does not care for his equipment! that saw ranges from $1000.00 to $1500.00 and to replace cylinder and piston will cost maybe $450.00 total GOOD VIDEO!

  • @rickyrick177 yea i agree with you

  • Would you sell the Ignition coil off this saw ? If you havnt given it back the owner ?

  • @bev1806 the owner lives nearby, I can ask him. how much would u give him for it?

  • Dust can kill an engine quite easily. Good informative vid.

  • Today someone brought me a snapper mower with a 1993 briggs 6 hp, and they ran it on low oil and the piston and head are scored real bad so i replaced it with another briggs engine off a Murry mowr, fits good except the blade adapter is too long and if i put a blade on it would come out the deck. Is there a way to get the blade adapter off i tried everything and un-screwed all the screws. Or are they just rusted on sometimes and cant get it off? What would you do?

  • Nice video, Don. I like the way u diagnose your engines. What video camera r u using? I am going to make some vids, and I like the quality of yours. Thanks

  • @snaponjohn100 just an old JVC vhs-c camera. I want to switch over to HD soon

  • Sometimes it doesnt take much to kill an engine, wow!

  • Well, that concrete crap just ruined a good engine. Cool video dude !

  • Nice info for that saw needing a repair. I am sure a lot of viewers will like this info.

    Thanks

  • you get a new camera donyboy? picture looks a lot sharper

  • @rippinmachines same old camera

  • why does it only have one ring? does a engine last longer if it has two rings?

  • @Smallgasengine1 it's usually better with 2 rings it seems to me

  • donyboy, that looks like it seized and then cooled down and freed up

  • nice frigin expensive things tho lol

  • Out of curiosity, why does this saw have a decompression valve? Is this common amongst larger two cycle engines? I've never seen one on equipment this size.

  • @BackyardFLPB YES MOST PRO SAWS and larger ones have a decompression valve

  • @donyboy73 thought the only has that on lawnmowers

  • Little honing and sanding on the piston should bring the compression back up no problem

  • Ah, that sucks. When I was at a garden machinery repair shop I was taking apart a Mcculloch Cabrio brushcutter, and it had low compression too, but the piston wasn't scored at all. But the compression was really low. Probably about 90-80psi.

  • Nice video dony again! I got a stihl one of these thats good, but needs a coil can you get me one? Or know where to get one? And did you end up repairing this or junkin it?

  • I have a saw similar to this they are a very good piece of kit but i sold it a while back and got a stihl one
