@wattamack4 I wouldn't think so. They filmed many bits in 2002 and 2006 for international airings, but this was from 2003.

I remember TRYING to explain why Ernie and Bert's hair seemed shorter in this bit to someone on MC years ago, who apparently felt chromakey shouldn't be responsible for tr "haircuts".

@ZNKChannel They probably need to chroma-key (use the blue screen) so that they could manipulate the puppets without being seen on camera. My understanding is that the puppeteer wears a solid-colored body suit that matches the color of the screen so that he is eliminated from the shot and it is made to look like Ernie and Bert are moving by themselves. It's probably necessary to do that to manipulate both of Bert's arms at the same time.
