  • I really should have watched Outlaw Star, and not have been such a Bebop snob. Miss those days.

  • What the fuck happened to this? Honestly now, why did everything turn to shit!

  • 0 dislikes? thats what im talking about!

  • This gave me a lot of strength as a kid, unlike Disney movies. Please never delete this video. I will watch it when I need an uplift. Man.... I was in... 4-5th grade when I first saw this. Geez...

  • god that was amazing!

  • Watching these old promos takes my breath away.. watching these shows late night became a big part of my life as a 90's kid

  • Omg so many memories, I still remember me eatting big bowls of popcorn watching outlaw star

  • "Believe in yourself and create your own destiny, don't fear failure"

If only kids now had something like Toonami.

  • If only kids these days grew up with such inspirational speeches

  • I haven't seen that in a long time....Although I still love "Space is the Place".

  • You keep putting 90's on the promos that aired in 2000-2001. How old R U Batboy9?

  • Omg i remember this promo! XD

  • i was only 6years old in 2000 but i was old enough to realize toonami was awesomesauce.

  • This has an important message. when I first saw it on "new years evil" I thought of how many of my peers Needed to hear this. good times.

  • Christ I miss Toonami....

  • glad that i was born in 87 would have never got to seen the greatest time for cartoons and anime

  • Only Toonami

  • Good stuff, I reminisced so hard just now

  • Fuck, I just nosalgia'd hard, thanks for this video, been years since i've seen this..

  • toonami was awesome back in the day when they supplied anime to the people; its the main reason i started becoming a connoisseur of anime and manga. Toonami set so many chain reactions that make me who i am today; but i will remember cartoon network that decade ago as it was, a time of utter contentment. I could say all the shows that made cartoon network in the old days amazing. but instead i'll say thank you cartoon network, thank you for for everything you did, may you rest in peace.

  • back when saturday morning cartoons were worth watching.

  • good thing its gone or we would have too live with the bad cartoons that CN is airing. Making Toonami look bad

  • early years were the best. ever since toonami got booted shits hit the fan >.<

  • i remember this promo sooooooooo clearly. man i love being a 90's kid.

  • What a good message this sent. I never realized it when I was younger. Kids really could use shit like this now.

  • What th ehell is that guitar in the backgroound, every time?

  • Yo, This was their best one...and @batboy97 you forgot Tenchi Muyo and That's Jet from Cowboy bebop in the Background for the most part. And Rem From Trigun at a certain part.

  • My brain melted from all the nostalgia

  • My favorite promo, of anything. Even better than TCM promos...and those are freakin' awesome.

  • This is from the year 2000 -.- not 90s

  • why is Jet Black narrating? ;D

  • damn tht took me back

  • that was some good shows back in the day

  • I remember these commercials, bad ass.. What Year was this??

  • The view count... Its over...ITS OVER 9000!!!!!

  • @Mightyenano hahahaha

  • Man i remember running home from school just to catch these shows. And i would rage if the cable when out. Oh the good old days.

  • @prettyboy1337 lol same here! i was like in 7th grade and DBZ crazy. These toonami vids messed with my early teens. I don't see vids like these anymore.

  • when cartoon network was the shit

  • @guyofda90s

when cartoon network WAS the shit

    now it is just SHIT

  • ahh the memories. this is how it should be instead of all the dumb shows cartoon network has now.

  • Goosebumps. The whole time. Thank you for the great nostalgia. Description is awesome.

  • not 90's

  • When I was...

  • i know exactly what you mean, i saw this like every day after school and all the words and the music is still burned into my brain, and jesus this was over a decade ago!

  • IGPX, Cubix ( i think), and thats about as much as i know plus batboy9's comment. IGPX was my fave from the racing on to the battle one :P

  • i have to agree, i listen to this everyday.. its soo great

  • Damn this brings tears to eyes T_T

  • toonami the best part about cartoonnetwork back in the day

  • can someone please list all the shows that were on here i forgot there names cept for dragon ball z lol thank u =]

  • gundam wing, outlaw star, yu yu hakusho, rarouni kenshin (i might have spelled that wrong) ronin warriors, i forgot the rest haha

  • @batboy9 I think I saw tenchi Muyo in there, but I don't remember that being on Toonami. also, it's Rurouni Kenshin :)

  • @sakichirox Hmmm, you must not have been watching tunami that much, It use to come on after DBZ and the newer episodes of sailor moon. Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi In Tokyo was my shit.

  • @TiaBub3 This was mostly an Outlaw Star video. :D

  • @TiaBub3 tenchi muyo!

  • @TiaBub3 tenchi muyo (tenchi in tokyo) was one you forgot i didnt see any gundam or kenshin

  • @TiaBub3 Dragon Ball Z, Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, Gundam Wing

  • "whatever happens from now on... you stand firm and face your destiny without fear... but with courage"

THIS WAS THE GOLDEN AGE OF TELEVISION...

  • 90's and early 2000's were the best times of my life!

  • Same here ! (P_P)

  • mine too

  • @howlbigbadwolfbeta Word up brotha! I swear... kids these days missed out on some of the greatest things in life. :)

  • aww man i miss tenchi universe T-T

  • Oh the good old days of toonami when i was young bring good memories

  • 19 now but I remember this like it were only yesterday.

Even when I was younger this was just awe inspiring and now its more relevant than ever.

Great stuff. Much praise to the legendary Toonami and the old Cartoon Network.

Sigh now all thats left is "CN". Ugh.

  • Feel ya 2 buddy, jus turn 18 but i still remember coming home knowing toonami was there waiting 4 me. It was such a good part of television.

"Cant believe he's dead." Halo 3. R.I.P. Toonami.

  • OMG I'm not gonna lie!! Ever since toonami was taken off the air, my life be came a wreck! D: !! And it's not because I can't live with out it... in a sense I can't... BUT! My life was great when toonami was on the air. xD lol! Even though [Honestly] I started watching it less and less til I just stopped watching it, it's like the tables in my life turned when toonami said farewell! LOL! Toonami has a connection with it's old viewers!!! (OoO ;) [Yeah call me weird if you must. xD]

  • i guess what im trying to say is , what swrong with telling kids these thing now days ? or to be more accurate why WON'T they give these kinds of messages to kids. I mean i think they could get away with bringing toonami back with all the old shows, because kids watching it now wont know what their watching , and the ones who do remember it are gonna be happy as hell if it comes back

  • We had a class discussion about something like this a while ago. the current generation is just messed up... =| Nobody really cares anymore. D:

  • man what happened to shows like this? words that actually give you inspiration , and send a message . As corny as it sounds back then when we were watching this , we looked up to goku, gene starwind, and tenchi and the others; we learned some valuable lessons from these characters and this show block. I mean a message as simple as "dont fear failure " and "believe in yourself " are just good things for kids to hear , especially when they see those words being put into action by a character

  • The title of this video fails. Gundam Wing and Tenchi both premiered in 2000. Fucking moron.

  • I remember this one the most, glad to see someone saved it too since now "Toonami" is gone for good.... last run ended with the commandpost blowing up and everyone flying off somewhere else.

...well at least my childhood went out like I'd want to - WITH 1 FINAL BOOM! XD

  • Does anyone know what the background track is? It sounds like an old Boards of Canada piece, but I'm not sure.

  • I miss this so much :(

  • From Megas XLR -

Coop (in ranting on CN): Listen up, you Disney wannabe! You destroyed Toonami, cancelled my favorite shows, and worst of all, stupid reality-fake shows! Well, there a lot of people who against this piece of garbage and Cartoon Network should stay true to the core!

  • I remember when cartoon network wasnt part of my cable..as soo as it was added, I fell in love with the saturday night block. I used to fall asleep right after..(i was a little boy, couldnt handle the late nights.) and dream about DBZ. Lol. pathetic but eh, I was a Kid.

  • Such epic words wasted on us as kids. Now it hits home. Still frickin' awesome.

  • I always get goosebumps when I watch this.... and a little teary eyed

  • Believe in yourself, and create your own Destiny. Don't fear failure.

  • Im glad i grew up with this granted i felt alone but as i can see today i wasent as alone as i thought i was and it helped me start some great relationships. leave it to a show ( btw it was more then a show) to unite people. Life back then was good

  • dude i freakin remember t his video!!! they use to play before or after the shows in tonami! God i miss it! i remeber every thing, from when tom was a pint sized robot to when and alien attacked the ship, and he got

ripped and had to get rebuilt into a bigger Badass looking Tom oh and Sara the AI computer chick, ugh i miss the old days

  • All theese shows are filled with wonderment and insparational motives, i guess that doesnt appeal to the new generation who likes grotesque and distusting shows =\. pity.

what adds to the awe, some of theese shows i vagugely remember, flashback =P I wish they can bring back

Outlaw star, ruroni kenshin, gundum, tenchi, DBZ, Hell bring back Sailor moon or card captors,

  • The new generation finds your comment amusing.

How people assume we caused this. So sad, so sad.

  • Were not assuming your generation caused this. It's just that the majority of your generation prefers more quirky corny shows. xD

  • I love all of those shows. And im only 14

  • This kind of broke me down a little.

  • i vaguely remember that stuff. i'm 16 now, so i don't know how old i was when this was still on. i wonder why they cancelled it...

  • little kids dont know shyt bout dis

  • Ive lived my life among my dreams and i dont have any regrets. I guess im a Toonami kid, im 18 now and i feel so old. Tenchi was my favorite cuz all my friends watched Dragonball but nobody watched Tenchi. Damn CN or whoever ended Toonami. Ill do my best to get Toonami back but i need to know one thing, Why was Toonami cancelled?

  • Nobody knows ---______---

    CN Fucked up....

Toonami was the definition of "the shit"

Nothing on Tv compares to it

Hell, just hearing the word toonami makes me remember my childhood.

  • Right on!

  • dude I miss those day

    now tv sucks ass

  • Nostalgia punched me in the face.

  • LOL! xD

  • dude a million years ago I always watched the show at 0:32 but I forgot what it was called and all these years I tried to remember but I can't.

Can anyone fill me in on it's name?

  • Tenchi Muyo

  • Thanks for putting this up, it brought back some good memories.

  • im 21 and im a toonami kid!!

  • Anyone that born during the eariler 90's was a Toonami Kid in my opinion! ;)

  • Yeah! We 90s kids were born to watch toonami! XD

  • damn straight lol

  • toonami taught me some important lessons in life

  • everyone who's 18 is a toonami kid

  • Actually I know some people that didn't watch tv that much, so when I asked them about Toonami they didn't know what I was talking about. I felt bad for them though.

  • same here you have to be both

  • Im 25 and toonami kid too. This stuff was gold and they tossed it to the side. Shame on CN for forgetting its awesome roots.

Take the Live action stuff of CN or call yourself something different!

Long live Tom v1 and the 90's

  • no you don't get it, a "Toonami Kid" is called that because we watched it at an age where it became grafted to our souls, sort of like the difference between a plant grown under a UV light, and one that's been brought inside or transplanted,

as soon as i could watch TV, i watched Dragonball Z on the WB in the mornings,

the definiton of Toonami //Child// is from birth we have been growing to mirror it's essence,

  • do you see the difference, between someone who takes a language and one that is the lang to their core and always has been? i and others have been bred in perfection, BUT these are lessons of the human soul, so you really can (be ceasar and understand him) grasp them, but it's like WE were born with this knowledge and grew to reflect this knowledge and are able to attain the soul, unlike these old- fasioned "baby-boomers" who look sideways in confusion at these thoughts, idiots

    and we don't even

  • have to be a group, we are all "stand-alone"

  • i always felt alone in watching Toonami, all the attention neccessary

  • I agree. Nice GitS reference btw.

Its just that if 18 is old, 25 must be ancient! lol

  • thanks

  • couldn't have stated it better myself

  • the kids today will not have these great childhood memories like us90s kids do.

  • tru dat.

  • don't bullshit me, nothings going to change unless we take over Cartoon Network

  • And then what would you do?

  • Man, I remember watching this back then. Some of the best shit on TV.

    Viva la 90's!

  • i agree with you guys this stuff was the shits back then what i wouldnt give to see them again

  • Wow i remember this clip from a long while back, makes me feel good like i just want to be younger and just do it all again, i would if i could. Things were so good i would watch toonami everyday and just get lost in it. Good times they'll never make the great stuff like they used to. Well i guess it is time to grow up and move on

  • dont kill your inner child mate

  • dreams.....ahh what a golden opportunity for all of us. not just for cartoons, us too with something beyond you love...go for it its your dream....

  • I understand all to well about what is on the Tv now. I dispise and loathe cartoonnetwork EVEN ADULT SWIM! all they have is stupid shows. Besides family guy, and american dad. I have yet to see a good show on every night on adult swim.

  • omg i so agree with tokyo panda u sir are amazing u have no idea how many good memories this brings back aaaah

  • i want a toonami channel or a toonami website that has free streaming of all the classic shows from Toonami's good ol days even the 2 min. promos are much better than the 30 min. shit they got now. BRING BACK TOONAMI!!!

  • I actually feel like crying it was soo good in the 90's and we'll never get it back. I guess it shows as time progresses everything starts to suck

  • You sir is nothing but pure AWESOM-NESS for uploading this!!!

    ty sooo much xD

    5/5!

  • I can remember when I saw this promo. this was when i was probably 12 or something

  • Nostalgia is choking me! I haven't seen this promo in years yet I still remember the lines!!! Thank-you for sharing this!!!

  • no problem.

  • Those where the golden years of Toonami and, to a lesser extent, the best years of my childhood.

  • You speak the truth man. Oldschool... Sigh how I miss it

  • I wish i had my childhood back. I wanna go back in time and smack myself and say "appreciate toonami now while you still have it"

  • we all wish that, but now all we got are the stories we tell the newer generation as they watch stuff like flapjack and chowder.

  • dude its gonna be difficult raising my children without toonami when all they got is FTV (Fag TV) Gaytoon network and Fagalodian.

  • Yep, that about sums it up.

  • Block all of them and show them this stuff, and buy them the cartoons that teach lessons don't show them cartoons emulating crap thats already on T.V. i.e. Total Bullshit Island

  • agreed

  • damn...feel so nostalgic now

old school toonami, how i miss those days =/

"Glad that I was around for this sucks for kids now."
