Mr. Delafield - 'You've held your breath far too long!' - the English version of 'Waiting to Exhale'. Ok, Dorcas is stupid for letting him go. I'd have fought, especially if the guy is also willing to fight. And Sir Timothy IS weak! He should let Dorcas go and deal with her having a love just as graciously as she has done for him. He's being childish. He CANNOT have his cake and eat it too! Got that off my chest, thank you.

Dorcus can easily solve this problem. She knows the Pratt sister's secret identity and about their father and can threaten to tell the whole town if they don't back down. But, I guess Dorcus is too nice and innocent for that.

But he's horrible every other time. If he really cared about Dorcas he'd stop reminding her of the past at every possible moment. It probably didn't bother him that much and if it had he'd have deserved it!

no i think he is genuinely torn between his love for dorcas and his desire to be loyal to his wife. he wishes he could but he cant break himself away from dorcas... and if he really wanted to hurt her why didnt he support the pratts... instead he supported dorcas and mr delafield fully understanding dorcas's relationship with him.
