Nice--Praying mantis die after givng birth (people say the male's head is eaten but this happens mostly just in captivity, trust me) but 30 to 300 offspring can comne from a single ootheca, or egg sack. They are TRULY beautiful creatures, aren't they?
they dont die after hatching. They can die anywher from 1 week to 1 year after they give birth. 12-500 babies can hatch, and they almost always eat the entire male in the wild, in captivity you can prevent this.

They do not always die. The males head is not always eaten.
