Check on google for Kimba the white lion images, and you'll easily find, for exemple, a image where Kimba sees his father in the sky, just like Simba on TLK movie. i think this can be kind of counted as appropriation... i mean, to any range of extent, people "borrow" or "steal" from each other all the time. i mean, we don't object to copyrighted material on youtube nor do we object to like, say rite-aid brand whitening strips (that were originally crest i guess).
