I saw america in 1974 and 1975...awesonme band. awesome musicians. great stoners btw, they were toking the whole way through the show exchanging doobies with the front row
I saw America in August 1987 at The Boathouse in Norfolk, VA. But on to more important things: On Dec. 27, 2007, my cousin lost her battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. At her funeral, they played this during a picture montage of her life. Pam, we love you and miss you. But the courage and fighting spirit that you displayed during this ordeal was something that can't be put into words. You were an inspiration to us all. We will never forget you.
Paul Kersys Step Son, get the "America' CD,..."Hourglass',... roughly 1994, listen to the song "Sleeper Train", "Garden of Peace" and all the rest of them, it's still there......boo

Presumably sandwiched between a dodgy stand up comedian and the bingo? Next week's double bill Paper Lace and Iggy Pop plus pie and pea supper. Ah, the wonders of the club circuit. Still, a gig's a gig, eh lads?
Ahhh...I've always struggled to get that riff into the song, and make it sound right but I just worked out a good way to fit it in, thanks to this video. Compares well to the '74 version.
RIP Dan

English/American lads - best of both dominant musical worlds. American dads English mothers.

Dewey's vocals are amazing, so smooth and beautiful, and sound better than they did
(if that's possible?) than in 1972.

Although each and every song by America is a true classic, I like Ventura Highway the best
