One of the most intelligent and articulate politicians of our time. I can't think of a single occasion when I have found reason to disagree with Daniel's views and it is always striking how he can put it so eloquently in such a short speech, where others would spend hours waffling.
I came across this VIDEO [ /watch?v=Vtw3UZ_iutw&feature=feedu ] about Qaddafi. It's something to think about, when our own rogue governments with the system in Qaddafi Libya.
He is quoting scripture to the children of the Devil. The religion of German ruled Albion is orthodox atheism. The kind of people who believe in glowbull warming Darwinism and Bigfoot.
@MrGilles1990 And the comments on here were saying mixed economies are tyrannies. Switzerland is a country with a mixed economy. It's railways, postal service, main telecoms provider, air traffic control are all either partially or fulled owned by the Swiss Government. Healthcare is universal and insurance compulsory. Yet few rational people would call Switzerland a tyranny would they?
@theredraven Oh I will Sir, I will - Switzerland is a tyranny as well - one of the majority, a democratic tyranny if you so like, mob rule. It only your decentralisation that keeps things functioning due to the pluralism effect - but with your enumerated steps thought centralisation & collectivisation you are on the same road to serfdom as anyone else.
@theredraven Nope, I haven't read any of his books. I in general don't read to many contemporary books. Democracy stays with me as a tool, a particulary dangerous one, and not a deity. So it can be beneficial in a limited range, but it also can destroy all liberty within a blink of an eye if left unlimited. And the swiss version is far too unlimited for me in that therms.
@theredraven Mixed economies are only fine if it is a mixture of oil and water(so they don't submerge, leading to big government getting in bed with big companies).
@coltrane1966 The only economies that have ever developed is mixed economies. Any example of a pure free market looks like Somalia and every example of pure central planning looks like North Korea.
@soylentgreenb Free market capitalism is a creature of law and can only function as such. I don't think Somalia has protection of property rights, well I wouldn't feel very safe setting up business there anyway.
@coltrane1966 "Free market capitalism is a creature of law and can only function as such."
That's a mixed economy that leans heavily towards markets. Truly free markets require anarchy, complete with private roads, private police forces(usually called warlords, by sane people) and no government or taxes of any kind.
Who is he talking to?
