Hmmm.. I know divx works.. but not sure about the xvid. but I am sure there is a software for this for the S60 5th edition phones.. I am not entirely sure mate.

although if it doenst play Xvid, coreplayer does the job...remember its symbian, open platform! you can find software everywhere
