  • Why can't they give Becky the little motorcycle? What if she works and saves up a few hundred bucks (whatever they were gonna ask for it) and let her buy it?? It's not really fair :(

  • even though i agree that motorcycles aren't that safe, i think it's hypocritical of dan and roseanne to make a living off of selling motorcycles and not allowing becky to have one. however, i also think that if they were to allow it that they would teach her how to ride safely.

  • Becky is so annoying!!!!!

  • I love this. Totally went through a Darlene phase when I was a teen.

  • I can't stand Becky, Darlene is just laying on the couch, minding her own business and the smug little brat yanks a pillow from her head then proudly declares how she basically started an argument between her parents to get her way.

  • @RainbowBrite87 Parents will always fight, why not take advantage from to time...

  • @RainbowBrite87 Yeah I agree....Dan was always unfair to Becky in the first place....they tried to play it off like Roseanne liked Becky and Dan like Darlene....but we never really saw Roseanne with becky....mostly with Darlene. In this episode, Darlene is the most annoying i think because she's being so self absorbed....(although i can also relate) I feel bad for Becky in this one...

  • I think they were being unfair to Becky, not letting her have car while when Darlene turned sixteen they just gave her the keys after fixing the car. Becky always got screwed as the older sibling while they liked Darlene and DJ. No wonder Becky got married. That was my opinion. Still love the show! :)

  • roseanne looks pretty in the green sweater

  • I was just like Darlene when I was thirteen. I think alot of kids go through a "dark" phase when they go through puberty...

  • As much as I think Darlene's attitude stinks sometimes. . .if I didnt know any better I'd swear she and I were seperated at birth. . . .The way she carries herself, the things she says, how she deals with the world around her. . .it's like looking into a mirror for me. . .

  • i just looove Darlene's hair its so naturally beautiful :)

  • jackies hair makes me want to barf

  • its so weird how just 4 episodes ago becky got birth control because she started having sex with mark, and apparently things were really good between them, and NOW he is annoying her to the point she wants to break up with him. too much change all of a sudden

  • What I liked about Darlene's character is that she portrayed a sense of realism to sitcom characters. It was refreshing to see a character who wasn't happy all the time... Darlene was a very intriguing, mysterious and complex character!

  • becky has drastic phases. In one season she went from long hair and pink outfits and shopping every weekend, then to boy hair dressing butch and wanting a motorcycle. strange.

  • @shamsky4evr

    kids/teens go through phases.

  • @shamsky4evr nothing strange about it, people do change you know

  • I was eight when the show first aired (so eleven during this season) and remember loving Darlene's character so much--more so now that I'm older.

  • I remember how girls back then would emulate Darlene by being sarcastic and aloof, even dressing similarly. I think that character really was an influence on that generation of girls who felt marginalized and misunderstood.

  • or maybe she was a caricature of that generation?? you make it sound as if girls watched this show and was like "omg i wanna be like darlene" when in fact that trend has been sprouting even before this.. darlene represented those confused girls

  • You're talking about the generation that preceded the show (which the character was modeled after) In that respect you're right. However, you're forgetting about girls who were 7 or 8 years old when the show first aired, who became teenagers in the mid-90's when the show was in it's prime. For them, she was a role model, not the other way around.

  • u can see it that way too. but then again this is not a kids show either.

  • @phonedial9

Right. I didn't consider her a role model or something to aspire to but it made me feel like it was okay to be myself, which wasn't the perky outgoing, shopaholic, make up loving, ditzy brained type of chick that you saw everywhere else.

  • "dont think a helmet is going to help you. all that does it catch your brains when they fall out of your skull" HAHA HAAAAAA

    that part was so funny!

  • I love Jackie, she's hilarious.

"Oh! That must have been...really fun for you." -in response to DJ's "nothing". Laurie does a fantastic job with this role.

  • Darlene is probably the most realistic teenager ever portrayed on television... Really really brilliant depiction.

  • 100% agreeable!

  • Actually I think Becky was. Lecy captures every nuance and quiver of teen angst and elation. She was so underated.

  • i agree

  • How did darlene finally come out of it again?

  • David

  • I can pretty much relate to the Darlene character because mainly on my style and attitude. She's beautiful, and I'm so attracted to guy's and girls like her.

  • Becky was always a spoiled rotten brat. I never liked her character at all. She wasn't missed when she went on hiatus. They should have never brought her back.

  • "but we just got all this money"

    "ITS OURS"

God i love Roseanne!! beckys a spoiled brat

  • You can see a microphone come down too far at 7:23

  • woah, jackie is like really blonde!

  • Darlene rocks

  • And I do it as well as any man.

    LMAO.

    The best quote ever.

  • I love darlene's character, especially how her character is almost the only one who goes through major transitions. I relate to her a lot. And by the way, she's NOT goth. That's just stereotyping her. Darlene(and you can tell from her character) just has that independant, carefree attitude and she happens to like black. And in the later seasons, she at least gets some color back, but she continues with the same attitude.

  • "Dont Forget To Tell Your Friend's About us"

  • Yea! That's why Darlene was my most favorite character out of the cast. She was the most relatable one (IMO).

  • darlene is not goth!! she has more sense than to look like an idiot!

  • I love how Darlene starts out in the series as a tomboy and then they transition her into a Goth.

  • yeah me to

  • lmao! so true......

  • can someone please tell me what episode it is when Darlene and David first meet

  • Johnny Galecki first appeared in season 4 episode 86, "The Bowling Show" on January 21, 1992.

  • b ecky is so spoilded she gest everything she wants. her parents just digg in. darlene gets it the hardest.

  • WERE NOT GUNNA DIE!!! OOOOOOO!!!!!

  • becky is so spoiled

  • im just like darlene with that "fuck the world" attitude

  • same here

  • i had this phase i still kinda act like darlene but alot of people can relate to her

  • I can sooo relate to Darlene in this episode.. I had a period like that when I was in high school.

  • I did too, I think every normal kid does. :/

  • Yeah me too except for me it was middle school.

  • for me it was 8th grade. same.

  • for me it's been most of my life :(

  • Me too. Grades 9-12 :(.

  • @ATLien007 me 2 when i was about 12 or 13.

  • @ATLien007 Wow your an Outkast fan, by your name.
