This documentary is wonderful, and the best thing about Metallica, aside from the fact that they do exactly what they feel like, is... let me put it this way: I was born in 1990 and I grew up with Metallica, and they've always seemed like "my band". You know what I mean? It feels like they're playing for YOU if you accept them. Doesn't matter who you are.
whoever did this was a freakin genius. instead of having everything taken from one time period as far as the interviews go they took em from the whole career of Metallica. going back and forth like that is pretty cool.
it does seem like they had a band meeting about cutting their hair. They all had long hair for 10 years, then all of sudden all four of them have crew cuts
@trulysarcastic Actually, Jason was teh first one who cut his hair. And then..Idk, tehy all kinda trimmed it a little (James had a mullet) and then.....it just happened.
But I have to agree that it still sounds like a band meeting :D
1:17-1:18 Jason say's there might be 1 or 2 bands that have more loyal fan's than Metallica???????? SLAYER AND PANTERA.... THAT WAS SAID... THAT WAS PANTERA'S HAY DAY!!!!!!!!
@limaunite there are no more loyal fans than the metallica fans who like load and reload who ever says they dont like those are not truly loyal to metallica.
@southpark645, I dissagree. The core of Metallica fans are those who like the first albums. Load an ReLoad suck in my eyes because they simply aren't the "Old Agressive Metallica". That Metallica has only returned last two years...
I guess you are not one of metallica's truest fans to not understand that they wanted to do something different because after the black album tour which was almost 3 years long, they knew everybody loved them and so they decided to try something different you dick
There should of been only one load album. They should of just put all the good songs from both albums and made it into one. It would of been almost like black album 2, that album would of been awesome. Imagine, Hero of the day, Until it sleeps, the house that jack built, bleeding me, unforgiven 2, fuel and the memory remains all one one album!
This documentry is definately 5 stars. Best documentry of Metallica i've seen. It shows exactly why Metallica changed and why it was right. Also that they say fuck you to the stereotype of Metallica that people think they should be. Metallica is Metallica and that's for sure! Fan forever.
listening to jason's backup vocals at 2:11 made me realize how awesome he was as a back up vocalist. rob trujillo, IMO, just doesn't have that aggreesiveness to it.
