She aint' on here to get her brokerage fee, she's on here to promote herself. Perhaps get a little cash, but obviously promotion is the motivation. This case is garbage. Smart woman.
@reymatt76 She's doing a bad job promoting herself. She can't say "realtor" or "property" properly and doesn''t know that real estate contracts must be in writing. I doubt clients were beating down her door after this display!
@reymatt76 I think you're right. In a place where people scramble to get the autographs of junk store owners who scavange trash from storage lockers(!!) nothing would surprise me.
I think 2,000 is a fair price to hard working realtors. I know our realtor sure earned his money when we put him through hell, driving him crazy while we were house hunting and trying to close on our home. He earned every single penny of it.
@Passionslvr "hard working realtors" in Australia can typically get 2% of the sale price, that's common. so it's often $10,000 to $25,000. Quite ridiculous. No wonder ppl want to sell their own houses privately and slowly there are emerging realtors who will sell a house for a flat $5,000. $2,000? I wish. ps the AUD is equivalent to the USD.
@darepow I'm not a real estate agent but work very closely with a lot of agents. At the moment they are lucky to sell a few houses a year. If you do some research you will see the flat fee companies houses sit on the market for months because $2k really only covers ads, paper work and 1 or 2 inspections. There are some very successful real estate agents but for the most part, IME they are struggling financially and are on call 24/7.
PLAINTIFF - open your ears - you need it in WRITING! Quit your god dam whining - besides YOU as a real estate agent - SHOULD know how to read and write contracts. Yes, the defendant may have screwed you but you had NOTHING in writing to back your claim...hope you learned something here because I have absolutely NO sympathy for people who do NOT abide by contracts . . .
Although the defendant shouldn't have done what he did, it was nice to see an estate agent not getting a whole load of money for doing nothing! I would blush asking for the money they do for opening a front door!

Shouldn't a broker know that what's in a written contract takes precedence over what she says was a verbal agreement?
