this video is pointless, there are many issues with cfls. there light quality is ugly, the swirly appearence is even more ugly and many of them dont last as long as ppl say they do.Anybody who promotes the ban on incandescents because of a stupid belief about global warming is a moron. cfls or leds will NEVER have the nicer, warm light quality that ur standard incandescent has. if using nicer light quality means wasting more energy, then so be it. government needs to stay out of ppls shorts

They now have the "daylight" version that is very bright. There is also the dim version for lamps and low light areas that are called "soft".

You have to keep them on for about 30 seconds, they need to warmup first. Out of the box, they will not be very bright, but once they warm up they give off more lumens than an equivalent wattage incandescent.

Remember CFL's have two wattages, real wattage and equivalent wattage, for example a 26 Watt CFL is equivalent to a 100 Watt incandescent and gives off more lumens.

if you want to replace a 100 watt bulb, use a 23 watt cfl, not a 15 watt one!
