  • she's my singing teacher

    go pamela

  • how old are you in this video??

  • wow!!! she is gorgeous!!!**drools** i think im in love :3 <3

  • outstanding

  • Beautiful voice.Who is that girl? What is her name?

  • @IchigoMJ The soprano is Pamela Hay

  • She sounded a bit forced at 0:51, and a few other parts but an excellent performance nonetheless.

  • otra recomendacion de musica clasica.. me encantaria ver esta obra en vivo!!!

  • I utterly disagree with the 'must be in german' attitude, had Mozart agreed with this line of though he would have made it in Italian. They are all ramifications of the same masterpiece, making it evermore dynamic and following the flow of changes in society.

  • I know her.

  • Lovely voice. I like this rendition. And, I agree, the words are up to interpretation. There is no set or "correct" translation.

  • good.

  • OMG Is she HOT !!!!!!! She can cry on my shoulder ANYTIME!!!!!! Great performance by a beautiful woman with an equally beautiful voice !!!! TenStarsplus !!!!! Thank you for posting this performance!!! Fantabulous !!!!!!

  • She seems like a mezzo to me

  • Damn, she's beautiful!!! :-o

  • The woman is soooo beautiful and I envy her voice I hope to someday have a voice like that, but I have a long way to go, after all I am only 11!!!!!!!

  • mmm she sings out of tune sometimes... don't get me wrong she still sings good ans she is very very cute

  • beautiful voice but somtimes goes slightly out of tune, but i dnt blame her its rilli hard 2 sing opera in complete controll xD Amazing voice! BRAVA!

  • Lovely voice. Needs to be done in the original German though.

  • She's got a lovely lovely voice!

  • beautiful...both.

  • mmh...io la sento un bel pò calante...

  • She is beautiful with an amazing voice however I don't believe this aria or any others of Die Zauberfluete should be sung in English it ruins it! It's okay if the dialog is in english but nothing else

  • What kind of sense would it make in a theatrical production to have dialogue in one language and sing in another? It would be absurd. Languages are for comprehension, not just sounds. I've heard the Magic Flute in Italian and an South African production in Swahili, Xhosa and Afrikaanse, and it's still Mozart's music at his best. And this version is excellent.

  • The Santa Fe production of "The Magic Flute" did just that in 2006 - dialogue in English with the arias in their original German.

  • yeah, and the dialogue isn't nearly as weird if in English.. but as far as the arias, I agree that arias this famous are best sung in the original german.

  • it is common practice in the opera world to have the dialogue and the music in different languages whether you think its absurd or not.

  • Great voice. Much luck.

  • un pò calante?

  • What happened to the translation? These aren't the right words to the song. Not sure I like the new words. The translation should be:

Oh, I feel it, it disappeared

    Gone forever is love¹s luck!

Never again comes the blissful hour

    Back to my heart!

    See, Tamino, these tears,

    Flowing, beloved, for you alone!

You do not feel the chords of love

Thus there will be peaceful rest in death!

  • There is no should nor right words about translations intended to be sung. Literal translations make very bad lyrics indeed. The lyricists craft is part technical - selecting words to fit the existing musical structure while preserving the rhyming scheme and positioning open vowels where singers require them etc. The other part is to capture the feeling of the character with poetic language that complements the composers music. The words you cite above seem neither one nor the other.

  • i agree with hughdrover regarding the essence of lyrical translation. this is coincident to my belief that the piece loses a great deal in its necessary mistranslation.

i wonder what wolfgang would think...

  • wonderful version,long live mozart

  • she has an incredible voice, with a very dark timbre that kinda suprised me. and god her eyes got so creepy at the high notes

  • I love her voice!! A little point of critic, is that I think that's she's not enough envolved into her character. It seems she's more thinking aout her technique.

  • lol I'm so used to hearing it in English.

    but lovely voice.

I love "Ach, ich fuhl's" so much.

  • i love this song....

  • I like her voice with the aria but when shes doing high notes her eyes widen(Creepy?!)

  • I love this song.

  • This is great piece! On of my most favourites! Where could I find the English words?

  • They are here...click 'more info' on 'About this video"
