  • THATS A WINDOW 8 IPOD VERSION

  • @Lightnessdragon3157 No it's not :).

  • I don't use MS any more as I couldn't work out how to change the default search provider to google in IE9.

  • @shwell ....so how exactly did you manage to post a comment here without your head exploding? i just dont know :(

  • Chrome-less made me laugh out loud!

  • microsoft have good ideas but lack that ability to make its interface more beautiful .. and eye catching ..

  • @bkztopkilla09 Please define what is more beautiful and eye catching then what you just saw in this demo? Oh I get it, if it's not Apple it's ugly.

  • @manco82 noo thats not wut im sayin.. microsoft has always bin about its software.. but neva presenting in a visual beautiful way.. yes apple kick there ass on visual and and software but microsoft. .you can make it part of your own.. so far the only beautiful thing ive seen so far is windows mobile 7 .. win8 is jus nasty to the eyes with all this rainbow.. i hope .. theres a app to custom it ..

  • @manco82 nooo im not a apple boy but apple has it .. listen microsoft focuss on the features apple on the other hand focuss on what the normal average joe might likees which is athe majority of the people who cant see the beauty of windows underneath... im sayin windows need a more imaginative view on the creative attractive view

  • @bkztopkilla09 This is the one thing I have always said. They do great things. Those things just don't look as beautiful as things other people do.

  • Finally a real OS including touch, that is not built for a phone.

    A phone - and it's functions - should fit in a pocket.

My next buy will be a tablet with Win8 on it.

  • So in short Windows 8 Is Actually Putting The Personal Back Into Computing. Well Done Microsoft Employees and All of Us who Created Windows 7.

This has been a world wide produced OS 8. Windows Infinite 8 designed on the platform of windows 7.

  • windows is winning me back XD i dont want to use the traditional windows 7.... they should keep improving this metro UI and build more apps and compatibility into it. so i can live in it :P

  • Its a tablet and not a comp!

  • wow that is impressive. i have to say i thought this was just for tablets but the side by side functionality is very awesome...

  • The hate here is pretty lame, anyone not impressed by the presentation isnt a real techie.

  • @Lucidanz Derp, cuz it takes a non-techie to not be impressed by a touchscreen. I'm impressed by the speed. That's about it.

  • @Lucidanz

Anyone that enjoys this isn't a real techie. This would be a cool phone OS, but for a desktop system it looks disgusting and sounds to be a hindrance.

  • @Knoxerboy101 WoW sucks.

  • @Zubirrex

    wat :V

  • the cost of this is going to be outrageous

  • Very impressive

  • Such a Copy of OS X Lion and iOS...

  • @calasite shouldn't you be sucking steve job's cock or something? you know, pretending its a good idea for one company to control every aspect of their system from hardware to OS?

  • @therabbitrevolution Would probably be better than any Windows user experience... so maybe yeah. No need to pretend, when stuff works like it should, as Apple products do, then you have a winning combination. forking out money on Microcrap is just a waste of time. *yawn*

  • @calasite thats fuinny, i have no issue with windows. Windows 7 runs pretty smooth, i actually get choices with my software and i don't have to pay twice as much for the hardware. sorry if i don't want to use the scientology of computers. there is a reason why they call it the "CULT OF MAC".

  • @calasite It's funny because Apple products don't work like you want them to, they work like Apple wants them to. You don't learn how to use a Mac, it learns how to use you. Have fun.

  • @Soreanol Gaming geek in mom's basement hates Apple, film at 11.

  • Fingerprints all over your desktop screen genius.

  • @AppleGnome just like the ipad kid. and this OS is not only for tablets or laptops/desktops with touchscreen but also for the traditional PC.

  • Steve Jobs the prophet said it perfectly. Touch devices don't like to be vertical.

  • @Playerchess77 same here

  • I really don't see the point of this. It would be better if Microsoft focused more on improving Windows instead of trying to tailor it to touch screens and tablets.

  • This is gnna be fucked

  • @Playerchess77 apple fans are about to get a heart attack

  • the keyboard layout was copied from ios 5

  • @bryuniran1699 This was revealed first, though. Couldn't it be possible that both companies came up with the same great idea at about the same time?!

  • @bryuniran1699 wrong!!! it was showed in a windows 8 presentation way before ios 5 was even showed to the community, so apple copied it from microsoft :)

  • The UI still seems very confusing. It sure works fast with this guy since he is the head of the WIndows 8 development division, but a lot of the motion gestures don't seem to make sense.

  • @rickcain2320 i disagree,, i think the motion gestures make sense,, and they don't look that hard to get used to

  • Problem with gaming? Solution! Get a keyboard and mouse! It's Windows so of course the hardware developers will put at least 2 USB ports on their machines. Can't say the same for an iPad.

  • this looks stupid why wud u change a desktop os to look like a mobile os pointless and dumb

  • @TehVillainz its incredible how short sighted you are, think about this, if you have a desktop computer with a touch display, this would speed up work performance, or you could have a laptop with a removal display portion, and continue using it as a tablet. Technology is only getting better. I've seen laptops with no battery powered by light in the room, what have you done?

  • @TehVillainz WATCH THE WHOLE VIDEO! you can still change back to a traditional UI if you want for normal computers

  • Uhmm, how about gaming?

  • @jasper561996 Yes! How about playing a shooter game, for example, if you don't have a mouse?

  • @manuelh0701 Well all of us are going to play it with the screen, "iPhone gaming system thingy" I guess, which is sucks! I mean how can I play a fast paced game with this "hand not-friendly" PC

  • @jasper561996 You game the same way you do now. Open the game (from the new start menu or the desktop) and play it. Nothing about that has changed. It's not like installing Windows 8 suddenly makes your computer a touch screen device where the keyboard and mouse are not recognized. A much more legitimate concern is how all these touch features translate to a normal mouse and keyboard if you want to use them and not just default to the normal desktop.

  • @YourFavoriteAries Didn't noticed that -_- Thanks

  • I think need1992 and prkmac4 are Microsoft Employees :O

  • If I want an Apple product, I'll buy from Apple. However if I want something that is PC, I'll buy Windows, not Win8 because that's Apple.

  • This is perfect for school and business.

  • it s really windows 8?

  • @MrToMiK007 Yeah, but this interface is for tablets, The desktop version looks like Windows 7 with a few more features.

  • @grandmastgarth cool but very hard

  • Windows 8 will crash and burn just like window phone 7

  • @jeffreyparke as i know and from my experience windows 7 is pretty stable :)

  • I honestly dont have a favorite operating system, as i use mac, windows and linux for different purposes successfully, but this is just like what Apple is doing with its computers; slowly replacing the features in their desktop OS with the mobile OS equivalent (app store, that new program menu, etc). Now microsoft is replacing the start menu with a whole damn mobile os. It looks magnificent for tablets, but for god, do they really have to bring all these mobile features to the pc?

  • Whoa!!! NICE

  • It was said only within the first year and a half of tablets becoming a new market that Apple had won the tablet war. With this new windows interface I think it can be more appropriately said, that on the launch date of the new windows tablets...Begun the Tablet War has....

  • Ok that's great, but I don't have any tablet and most of people does not either.

What about the desktop version ? I want to see this, I want a desktop UI with Metro inspirated style, not this limited stuff you show.

  • did anyone hear him at the end ,its designed for tablets , but for desktops you have the original windows 7 interface or if you want the new one -_-

  • @kokman73 he said it also works great with a keyboard and mouse.

  • @kokman73 not in this video but he definitly said that.

  • WOW

  • So can we still use a mouse & keyboard?

  • @NeothehedgehogX Yes it will be both but if you don't have a keyboard you won't need it. Same if you don't have a touch screen you can still use it.

  • @NeothehedgehogX yes he announced it a wile back ,windows 8 will be available for desktops and you can use a mouse and keyboard if you don't have a touch screen :)

  • 0:29 wtf that is in ios 5

  • @h84camacho1 is a feature for windows 8 that micrsoft came out with way before apple did, its apple who copied microsoft.

  • Windows 7 trans to 8 = Desktops can run on tablets.

Mac OSX SLeop trans to Lion = Desktops look (and act) like tablets.

    I pick both :D

  • It costs less and it's much faster as my ipad 2 :(

  • I dont know what to say.....I'm not impressed, but I'm also not disappointed. To me, it just looks like my xbox 360 menu.

  • wtf is windows 8 a table device OS or a PC because from my view it looks very crappy

  • @TheWorldofnoob it is a full fledged desktop OS, which can be accessed on tablets as well. You can still get the full desktop experience with taskbar and the like as under Windows 7. The powerful thing about W8 is that you can even toggle to desktop mode on your tablet.

The metro UI is just for touch and media centric devices, which makes it easier to surf the web, view videos, pictures, social services and so on, not so much for productivity as the desktop mode.

  • @TheWorldofnoob its both at the same time.

  • Touch is nice, but i'll stick to my Mouse and keyboard. Nice touch to Windows 8, Though! Oh, and looks very fast!

  • @Superman563 looks good for tablets, maybe a modified metro UI for desktop/laptop bring the font, make it look like ie9, maybe have sum tiles instead of widgets.

  • Just wow windows 8 =)

  • wow this is retarded! Internet Explorer is a joke!! hahahahahaaha Chrome of Firefox are better

  • @pixelr0 yeah chrome of firefox is awesome

  • i think that MSFT will create a unified product at which all of its product sports the metro UI interface.

  • What about for gamers ?

What will windows 8 be good for games ?

I am a gamer not some dam touch screen geek .....

  • @AlienTechProductions you good sir, say what i think.

  • so fast and smootj, can't wait to have one

  • I want i want!!!!!!!!

  • Ribbon makes the world go round!

  • @HitcHikerStudios Really? Wow. Did you even see 1:00 ? Is that a start orb? Hmmm...I wonder!

  • this is pretty awesome for the ipad actually, using rdp, vlc, or splashtop is going to be so much easier

  • touchscreen Pc why? im cool with my keyboard and mouse

  • @GTAGansterhood

Which you'll still be able to use with Windows 8.

  • Funny how Microsoft JUST released IE9 in March, and they are developing/developed IE10, ALREADY?! lol

  • @fruitzy101 Uh yeah baffoon... IE10 is being developed... what's your point? 8 is still over a year away.

  • @fruitzy101 IE 10 isn't going to be as dramatic a change as ie9 was from 8.. just like ie 8 wasn't a dramatic change from 7.

  • @Gangularis So I take it you haven't used the Platform Preview of Internet Explorer 10? This is before the alpha stage still, but it is already able to compared to Mozilla Firefox 5 and even Google Chrome 10, in terms of speed. I think it's really the performance factor most people look for, unless you were refering to that.

  • get ready Windows 8 M3 Build 7985 on the Metro UI WP7!

  • 1:40 New! Ribbon Windows Explorer!

  • Comment removed

  • there's nothing about multitouch

  • this is the windows 8 version for ARM processors. i doubt it'll be the same for actual desktops.

  • How about Kinect control ?

  • @TommyHarv Fuck kinect:)

  • Microsofts doing good with this :D

  • Its only very cool mobile OS

  • I dont want to tweet; share app; show off my app or touch flashy stuff... Just make a better OS so I can work better with Words; Power Point; PDF and Starcraft.

  • @DudeGamer8 i doubt its a good idea to play starcraft with a touchscreen

  • can you only mulitasking to left?

  • @pappermario1 dude this is in Alpha stage much more feature will be added, this will not be released within a year or something..

  • windowspad,windowstablet,windowsoctago,windowseight

  • so basically its just windows 7, but with a completely redesigned start menu, animations, and gestures

  • Using the Metro UI in Windows 8 is a REALLY good move. They want Mac users to look like kids playing with their toy while a Windows user would be the stylish, business and efficiency oriented OS.

  • @LukeBasarab HAHA! That's the funniest thing I have read all day. What an absolute tosser you are! OMG there is so much FAIL in what you said that your life must be a complete and utter misery. Wow, I thought I'd read some pretty dumb comments but yours wins the ultimate Idiot of the Year award. Well done! Face it, Windows 8 is a dogs turd and an EPIC FAIL of gigantic proportions - much like your comment!

  • @xzotic27 Wow... get a life troll

  • @LukeBasarab You sir, fail at life. So sad.

  • @LukeBasarab apple will then make everything better than w8 again.

  • good job microsoft...and no you don't need a complete gui overhaul everytime

  • So it's windows 7 with a new GUI, and then some for touchscreens. If they're smart about this they will let user completely customize every aspect of the GUI. They ought to make it possible for people to add custom modifications as well.

  • @stalker7d7 Instead of calling it Windows 8, it should be called Windows 7.5.

  • @stalker7d7 windows 9 sounds better to me

  • I remember all the rumor of the iPad and a few of them where talking about having Leopard OS on it but Apple didn't make it and i say it's a part disappointment, i know that the iOS is good and very maneuverable but is still limited. And with this demo i see that Windows is striking back to Apple with an OS that is both a Pad and PC and what people really want. I think that Microsoft noticed that Apple doesn't have fresh ideas for a new mobile OS. These are words of a Linux fan.

  • @need1992 yeah might really good to an mobile os but this is way to much tablet for an computer

  • @pappermario1 True, still it may be that Microsoft is going to make a "normal" Windows version for a PC. The only thing that we can do is wait, and hope that Microsoft is going to do what the user wants.

  • @need1992 you can see a "slow' change of tabs at 00:07.. hehehe

This Windows Will be a trash, no comparable to Apple.... Whatever, Microsoft just make Shit....

I'm Happy with My Ubuntu, And the world is of LINUX!

  • @lij8 Emmh about the slow change of tab, this is still a beta version nothing is finished polished and so on.

  • @need1992: So true, i would get a iPad 2 if i knew i could get some sort of Desktop OS on instead of IOS, Linux would be great, like Ubuntu... or something else Debian based

  • i generally think people wont like it because they are apple fanboys. this looks breathtaking, absolutely beautiful. i quite like honeycomb but after seeing this i would love a windows 8 tablet.

  • I feel alot of people who are complaining hasn't seen more than 30 seconds of the video showing the standard desktop..

  • That's it, Linux is my future ಠ_ಠ

  • Wow, I must say, I'm impressed. Apple's Mobile OS is going to get left far behind!

  • @prkmac42 II think microsoft shouldn't have shown this at this moment, they should have waited until apple released iOs 5 and Lion, so they would be left behind with their cluttered by icons interface.

  • @prkmac42 seems like iOS 5 just set them back 10 decades.. again :)

  • @prkmac42 just wait for Iphone 5 with IO5

  • @prkmac42 What does this have to do with Apple's mobile OS? This computer they used in this video is not a mobile computer. And honestly, this is just for a demo. A real computer user would never want to reach out to a screen vertically and use a computer. That's just ergonomically terrible. And even if they do want to do it, they won't do it for long.

  • @prkmac42 I couldn't disagree more. This looks like Windows 98 meets the iPad. It just looks confusing and dated. And it hasn't even come out yet. Microsoft is going to fail (again).

  • wtf where 's the taskbar????

  • @PytoX Why don't you watch the entire video.

  • @bartat404 ow i've seen, i hope you can still use regular desktop too ...

  • @PytoX If you see the entire video and listen, he makes it clear that the original desktop is still there, just in a less prominent form, and that classic applications still work. Yes, you can still use the "regular" desktop. "regular" is nothing more than something you're used to. The desktop UI is in major need of reform, it's been the same since 1995 and with todays technology that's kind of a problem. :P
