  • i prefer the coupe, the only one that looks good in convertible is the 6-series softtop

  • should I upgrade to an m3 convertible or 335 convertible?

  • @lovinps - if you get the 335 make sure its not the twin turbo. They have serious overheating issues. that's why the new 335 has a single turbo. I would get the M3 simply because the new M3's will have a turbo. You want the current hi tech v-8 in the current m3.

  • hey shit face this is the convertible version, can you understand THIS IS THE CONVERTIBLE VERSION not sedan , so fuck off!

  • oh god what a jackass you are.jigili do you know some thing about cars?a convertible can't convertible compare to a sedan , is that clear?

and cts-v usually compare to M5 not M3.

  • Here is real world footage of my 2008 M3 Conv on the track working through the field. Sticks like glue, excellent balance, plenty of nut sac under the hood and it has ALL the creature comforts you would ever want. Yes, it's pricey but that's an entirely different conversation and relative only to your income. Jekyll and Hyde at it's finest if you ask me. Change out the video id with this one below...

  • Thats , my car , and Im enjoying it .. just living the american dream .. and it come with a blonde too. I like to live in america .

  • bel giocattolo!!

  • wow the convertible is 5mph slower in the slalom

  • it wieghts more because of the technic which folds the hardtop - so it pushes harder to the side and that´s why it is slower

  • Bottom line, if you want an M3, get a sedan (same performance as coupe since only 22 lbs heavier and more rigid due to B-pillar, 2 more doors and more interior room) or get the coupe.

M3 convertible FTL!! Too expensive, not fast enough, does not handle well enough. There are better convertibles out there that are cheaper.

  • that guy cannot drive

  • Has anybody heard anything about that cam-less valve technology they're working on?

  • Yeah a variable geometry twin turbo w/ 11psi of boost and a variable geometry intake manifold(does it have this?), that w/ DOHC VVT,added on a 500lb 4.0L 420HP stock engine. Now that would be something(and more along the lines of what I would have expected considering they kick ass in F1)

  • cool

  • Did any of you apart from me realize they were not using a convertible M3 during those tests?

  • Hardtop convertible, as all 3 series convertibles are.

  • It's a hard top convertible. The M3 coupes have carbon fiber tops.

  • (1:04) Quad exhausts. The 335i only has dual.

(1:17) you can clearly see the side air inlet, unique to M3s.

In conclusion, this is a 2008 BMW M3 hardtop convertible. Now, if you want to talk about how asinine it is to pay for an M3 yet give up the amazing carbon fiber roof of the coupe... that's another discussion. Were it not for this CG lowering roof and the 4.0-liter engine, youd be left with a 328i. So, youre essentially paying $21,850 [66,150 - 44,300] for the V-8 engine. Brilliant!

  • engine sounds so good

  • the driver is ridiculous look how close he gets to the cone on 0:56

  • that just means he was pushin the shit out of the car

  • Looks like he was having fun with that car.

  • ohhh that red coupe is so nice

  • i know its so nice

  • What an Awesome sound though, I think i might buy one of these over a corvette

  • DO THAT

  • No Corvette. I like the special C6RS.

  • Please do - I want to see that :)

  • wow,more vids?well at least one.and twin turbo m3?didnt know they made a twin tubo m3...cool man.thanks for the info............................ass

  • of course of course

  • WOW! You are awesome. You showed him who's cool and then you became even cooler by posting that cool post. You are awesomely cool!

  • you just have to be the most retarded car person i have ever seen, a TWIN turbo m3 and 300hp ?? wtf you smoking , 335i has 300hp and it has twin turbos not M3, m3 would burn your volvo to the ground, you wouldn't even be able to see him in 10 sec, ohhh and next time you open your mouth do a little research through a place called "google" or internet itself, and about the "vid" stop bullshiting us, we already know who won lmfao :D

  • please don't

  • Another good car from BMW! The rear just wants to drift huh? I miss my 85' bimmer that was a fun car.

  • put the car on M dynamic mode when you test the car you idiot!, thats why it bogs down like crazy when you rev the shit out of it and it doesn't go anywhere! get a new Driver that actually knows how to drive a car!!! especially when they are driving a BMW

  • yeah wow what an idiot.

  • 13.0 at 107. Thats kinda weak!

  • I personally like the newer M3 than the older ones (especially how the exhaust looks now =p).

  • BMW makes great cars.

  • awesome driving, the car... i dont know. Just not what i would want in a "sports car".

  • i hate GMW

  • m3 is good for drefting!

  • not better than a silvia!

  • Yes it was serious question, and thanks! I see what you meant now lol. Poor clutch ... not that the clutch is poor.

  • Slalom was slow

  • This was sad for me. Always was a fan of M3's and this makes me want the GTR or even a Lotus. Performance vs $.

  • @civic734

It's a convertible, thereby slower and less agile at the track.

Why won't people get this that convertibles are heavier ?

The Coupe rocks 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds. and does mid 12's on the quarter mile I believe

  • Sweet! I like how the driver gently grazed the coner of the cone while exiting the Slalom 0:56, Same 60-0 as Z06 not bad for a heavy car. =]

    JB

  • that extra 500 lbs from the convertible top takes a toll on it

  • I like the engine note but I can't help noting that my Bentley GT Speed is a more "agile" car! 0-60 in 4.4 sec, 1/4 mile in 12.4 sec, 70 MPH slalom speed, and .99Gs

  • Big $ diff.

  • ugh that wasnt meant to the M3, it was meant towards the guy with the Benz my bad guys, reply aint working

  • too soft suspension :(

  • agreed....

  • gtr is beter

  • not in the same category douche

  • But not all of them are fast. I have seen tests done and some go 0-60 in 3.3 sec and some do it in 4.1. Not very consistant power ether. 430HP all the way to 510. Kind o f interesting to note that the Ford GT was the same way some dynoed at 530 HP and others at 610 bone stock.

  • how often would you notice the difference in performance between the coupe and this..barely at all

but to hear that engine with the top down..yes!

  • fast!

  • sounds, accelerates, and breaks amazing, you only notice it's a soft-sprung convertible on the skidpad and slalom, but still impressive

  • 5th!

  • i agree wit 2004jetta

damn so much wheel burn its seksi :D

  • poor clutch

  • i agree and the suspension seems too soft

  • how can you tell that the clutch is poor? Thanks.

  • Is this serious question? Usually by driving the car, slipping is bad sign. I didn't mean that the BMW has a bad clutch, I meant I felt bad for it, didn't you hear the engagements during the drag testing? It might be a very good clutch, but after runs like that it'll soon wear out... if the suspension was tighter you'd see better slalom times, the driver clipped the last cone during that test.

  • I think the coupe version does better in the slalom because extra stiffness ... so keeping that in mind it's pretty good for a convertible..

  • haha dumbass.

  • very impressive for a convertible

  • DAMN all i can say is DAMN
