@lovinps - if you get the 335 make sure its not the twin turbo. They have serious overheating issues. that's why the new 335 has a single turbo. I would get the M3 simply because the new M3's will have a turbo. You want the current hi tech v-8 in the current m3.
Here is real world footage of my 2008 M3 Conv on the track working through the field. Sticks like glue, excellent balance, plenty of nut sac under the hood and it has ALL the creature comforts you would ever want. Yes, it's pricey but that's an entirely different conversation and relative only to your income. Jekyll and Hyde at it's finest if you ask me. Change out the video id with this one below...

Bottom line, if you want an M3, get a sedan (same performance as coupe since only 22 lbs heavier and more rigid due to B-pillar, 2 more doors and more interior room) or get the coupe.
M3 convertible FTL!! Too expensive, not fast enough, does not handle well enough. There are better convertibles out there that are cheaper.
Yeah a variable geometry twin turbo w/ 11psi of boost and a variable geometry intake manifold(does it have this?), that w/ DOHC VVT,added on a 500lb 4.0L 420HP stock engine. Now that would be something(and more along the lines of what I would have expected considering they kick ass in F1)
(1:17) you can clearly see the side air inlet, unique to M3s.
In conclusion, this is a 2008 BMW M3 hardtop convertible. Now, if you want to talk about how asinine it is to pay for an M3 yet give up the amazing carbon fiber roof of the coupe... that's another discussion. Were it not for this CG lowering roof and the 4.0-liter engine, youd be left with a 328i. So, youre essentially paying $21,850 [66,150 - 44,300] for the V-8 engine. Brilliant!

me too! I thought this was a normal 300 horse twin turbo m3...I owned one last night in my sleeper volvo...it was funny, the guy in the m3 was so pissed because after I took a giant shit on him in my moddest 430 hp volvo, I looker over at his and said 5 grand. I bought the car for 8 grand years ago...put 5 grand in the engine. I pointed at my car and said 5 grand...and I pointed at his car and said 40 grand? He was sooooooo pissed that a 94 volvo 940turbo RAPED his m3. I need to post more vids
you just have to be the most retarded car person i have ever seen, a TWIN turbo m3 and 300hp ?? wtf you smoking , 335i has 300hp and it has twin turbos not M3, m3 would burn your volvo to the ground, you wouldn't even be able to see him in 10 sec, ohhh and next time you open your mouth do a little research through a place called "google" or internet itself, and about the "vid" stop bullshiting us, we already know who won lmfao :D
put the car on M dynamic mode when you test the car you idiot!, thats why it bogs down like crazy when you rev the shit out of it and it doesn't go anywhere! get a new Driver that actually knows how to drive a car!!! especially when they are driving a BMW
I like the engine note but I can't help noting that my Bentley GT Speed is a more "agile" car! 0-60 in 4.4 sec, 1/4 mile in 12.4 sec, 70 MPH slalom speed, and .99Gs
But not all of them are fast. I have seen tests done and some go 0-60 in 3.3 sec and some do it in 4.1. Not very consistant power ether. 430HP all the way to 510. Kind o f interesting to note that the Ford GT was the same way some dynoed at 530 HP and others at 610 bone stock.
Is this serious question? Usually by driving the car, slipping is bad sign. I didn't mean that the BMW has a bad clutch, I meant I felt bad for it, didn't you hear the engagements during the drag testing? It might be a very good clutch, but after runs like that it'll soon wear out... if the suspension was tighter you'd see better slalom times, the driver clipped the last cone during that test.
i prefer the coupe, the only one that looks good in convertible is the 6-series softtop

wow the convertible is 5mph slower in the slalom
8MunchenBayern8 3 years ago
it wieghts more because of the technic which folds the hardtop - so it pushes harder to the side and that´s why it is slower

civic734 3 years ago
@civic734
It's a convertible, thereby slower and less agile at the track.
Why won't people get this that convertibles are heavier ?
The Coupe rocks 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds. and does mid 12's on the quarter mile I believe
SimpsonvilleRecords 1 year ago
Sweet! I like how the driver gently grazed the coner of the cone while exiting the Slalom 0:56, Same 60-0 as Z06 not bad for a heavy car. =]

I think the coupe version does better in the slalom because extra stiffness ... so keeping that in mind it's pretty good for a convertible..
