The strange thing is, I became an atheist for the very reason that someone told me to read the bible and I did. I really thought there were something I didn't understand or see, at a time. But then I realized it's just a bunch of adults going bonkers over fairytales; none of which are any more interesting (if not less so) than Greek mythology; at least they had cool gods. If you really wanted someone to be in a faith, it's probably wise to have them NEVER READ THE BIBLE.
@Eriance exactly--I often tell Christians that if they stop allowing themselves to be spoon fed at the pulpit and actually READ the bible cover to cover there is no way they could, with a sound mind, remain a Christian.
they wouldn't be religious if they weren't being evangelistic, atleast not fulfilling the full duties of their faith. So as someone who was raised in a religious family, it's not hard to understand why they operate this way.
my dad says the same thing he wont really listen to my argument because i havent read the whole bible but if the first to books didnt convince me how is the rest of it suppose to hold up. To be honest i dont even have the time to read things i enjoy let alone the bible
If the space time continuum is real, then in the beginning there was no time because there was no space, since space is constantly expanding (galaxies) then you're really saying time now is relatively slower than it was in the beginning because space is expanding which really means X amount of years could have happened in the beginning relative to days now because space and time and matter were all condensed. If people knew how crazy physics can actually sound they'd find it hard to believe.
God exists, that's the accepted claim by the majority of people, you want to challenge that, bring the evidence, the burden of proof is on YOU. Some narrow minded atheist proposed the wrong notion that atheism doesn't require evidence and many gullible atheists had run to foolishly embrace it. Philosophically the burden of proof is in the argument challenging the establishment. What evidence you have that atheism is true? None, zero, nada. Open your eyes, you're being deceived by an evil cult.
I agree with this lady about fairy tales. When I was a kid i was I was told that a frog turning into a Prince was a fairy tale but when I started going to school they told me it was a scientific fact, that frogs one day can become princes. Go figure, Atheist think the Bible is fantasy but fail to realize their own Disneyland.
An Eve made from Adam's rib genetically makes her his identical twin...sister! Not possible!
After sitting in the dark and pondering about it forever, God finally took great pains to design and make the Earth and the universe (in that order) but immediately turned his back on all of it because two people, who were uneducated, unwise, and who didn't know right from wrong or good from evil, made a single bad decision that he scammed them into in the first place. Makes sense.
how could god have created everything in 7 days when the sun wasn't created yet? plus days where a lot faster when the earth was created since the rotation is slowing down over time
@bw2182 Well, many people make the claim "It was God's days!" Of course, in Genesis the plants were created before the Sun, so it doesn't matter however long God's days are, people might as well follow the original bullshit. =)
you can believe n do what you. You can use logic, but if there is no reason to use it,then it doesn't matter. If we are consistent in an atheist world view, then wether we die or not doesn't matter. So if you, specifically you want to survive longer then all that is is an opinion. Nothing more. Because if you were to die from a muderer tomorow under your world view, it shouldn't matter since your life literally has no meaning if you are true to yourself

my next question to all the replies is so what? So what if they pass on thier genes? So what if they survive longer? There is no point. Evolution is not a fact. So stop being dishonest and listen. Use your smart brains. The question you have to ask is why does it matter wether you live or not. Under an consistent athesit view either is equally correct.
@tiptoetherat. Wow keep making yourself ignorant. You go read a bible unbiasedly as you dont want answers, you just want to take things out of context and pretend you have a reason. God allowed those people to die because he is ultimately just and will/did judge only those who were evil. Those for ex babies would have been spared into heaven. So next time actually llok for the reason why instead of ignoring answers in front of you.idiot.
@maxergud by your logic, you must not even need a brain to have morals, if you were correct. Thankfully logic, science, and truth state that is wrong, as you can say dogs have morals but who's morals. Yours? Your associates? Either way all that is just opinion. Morals are not opinion. If they are REAL morals, they must be given by someone and be absolute. SO GOD logically has to be factual.
@lifecon1 Who said you don't need a brain? You make a lot of conclusions that has nothing to do with fact. And i disagree about that they have to be given by someone absolute, we develop them ourselves in our societies.
@maxergud i have not made any conclusions alone. i just stated facts. you cannot develop a rule if its already there and never changes. if it was developed then its only an opinion, and your opinion vs mine would be equally valid if that was the case. since life actually has right and wrong, good and bad, it would have to be given by a higher being.Period, fact, logic, old info. stop ignoring and start listening. otherwise your just being intellectually dishonest.
@lifecon1 let's imagine a planet cut off from god's absolute universal morality. A planet where creatures evolve just like here, but are completely devoid of gods moral influence. Let's say we fast forward to large multicellular creatures (like mammals and such). Would you suggest that this planet, not being endowed with divine morality, would just be a huge bloodbath of sociopathic, relentlessly selfish, sinful creatures, completely unable to cooperative, feel empathy, or form social bonds?
@xRocketNumber9x they could form bonds. but that's where it is basically random chance. there is no reason why they should get together for similar interest or not. either way is correct with no morals. And there is no fast forwarding. it just there. no evolution is needed. There could be places where people learn to communicate and get along or places on the planet where they just kill or be killed. As far as being moral, there is none and they are both equal ways of living.
@lifecon1 "but that's where it is basically random chance. there is no reason why they should get together for similar interest or not."
Yes there is. If you have a group of cavemen that help each other hunt, forage, tend to each others wounds, share burdens, protect each other, fight other tribes, etc. They will survive a thousand times better than some group who is just doing whatever they feel like. The cooperators pass on their genes, and their teachings, the aimless rejects die out.
@xRocketNumber9x you can believe n do what you.
@lifecon1 That is so totally absurd. Our lives have more meaning because we know its the only one we are going to have. There is this thing called a legacy, people will remember you thats how we live on. Most everyone wants to be thought of fondly and inspirational and taught the things theists take for granted. We take nothing for granted. There is nothing that you have that I want. It is fake, it is dysfunctional and abusive. No to having a "meaningful life" if that's how you want to pretend
@splicedenergy wow i can't even count the flaws in what you wrote. That's really bad, but ill try to point them out. First, since your an atheist you have a relative world view. Now that means that anything you say that anyone should do or not do, is right or wrong, good or bad, is just an OPINION. So under your world view who cares about a legacy. It is all opinion. Did you not just read the above comments. Or do you ignore information like many atheist do. SMH
@splicedenergy Next how does your life have more meaning? Majority of atheist cannot even agree on the same meaning or if there is one(other than there made up personal meanings which are automatically invalid). WE DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED. I am only putting it in bold so you realize how big of a flaw that is. And whoever told you that either lied, has a flawed presumption about our specific religion, or is just ignorant.
@splicedenergy Next, you just contradicted yourself in saying "It is fake, it is dysfunctional and abusive.". First, it is not and just claiming that with no evidence, not to mention ignoring facts is intellectually dishonest. Also, I do not know where you got this from or who twisted your mind up, but i hope you get help for that. The atheist relative morality world view is dysfunctional. Because no one ever is or could be consistent in living that way including you. I gave you a fact/reason.
@splicedenergy Last because its the simplest flaw."Most everyone wants to be thought of fondly and inspirational and taught the things theists" That is another opinion. Yes people prefer to live well and long. But if there is no reason other than the opinions we "make up individually" we are just ignoring facts. All your so called"morals" are opinions. All opinions are equally valid. So that means all morals for every person would be equally valid. True? NO because...........
@splicedenergy ..... Imagine a world without religion. A world where people kill, rob, care, make children, build homes, bomb places, etc. Just like our world. Here is the diff: If someone comes into your house and says"im here to kill you, cause I "think" its right". what do you do?You may say no cause I think its wrong. You may also try to prevent his attack. But who is more correct? There both opinions. There both equal. So it doesn't matter who wins. Because its all opinion and there's no meaning.
@lifecon1 All I have to do is read the 1st sentence to remind you that you are a hypocrite ans closet atheist, any and all religion is an opinion. You cant side step that
@splicedenergy Now how is it an opinion if over and over millions of people show evidence, find new evidence, and continue to? Its not. I do not side step it. You side step my whole argument, which would have to be agreed to first. Since you decide to choose wrong, your just wrong. Simple. You blindly put faith in the belief(because atheism is not proven, and in fact the opposite is more logical) and have a closed mind. I'm tired of people like you lying and acting like your better. get a life.
@lifecon1 I have and it would be the most peaceful world this world has seen in nearly 5 billion years. There is no god, therefore no one can say my god is better than yours we're bombing you. Atheists have the lowest crime rate and have far more superior morals than any god you've imagined. Our morals are based because your god is are awful tyrannical, murderous whatever deity. There is nothing more immoral than any deity on record especially the christian god. Do not play
@splicedenergy wow and where do you make this up from. you head based on no evidence. All I continue hearing from you is my god and any god is evil and the world would be a better place without them and should be that way. See opinion without facts again, and you just ignored so much information from my other comments that I know you could only do so purposefully. It is sad how you will suffer and are suffering blindly. But there's is always a way to change. That is another fact.
Read it this time.
@lifecon1 Wow, you're right. Everyone needs a moral framework given by an unprovable supernatural source. Thank you for making me realize that Norse Paganism is the one true Way.
@Joelsef2898 So living in a world of only atheist where sociopath's actions are acceptable is better. I think you need to go to a doctor, cause that is what your defending. I hate ignorance. Because people choose to be that way after deciding not to read ALL the information I wrote earlier. But its your choice. I give you that. Your choice to live how you want, pretending to be in a world where there's such a thing as right or wrong. oh wait your world view can't have that. idiot.
@lifecon1 Religious people kill people thinking it's right all the time. You don't need religion to be good and you don't need to be godless to be evil. I think there's good and evil in everyone and to balance it is every person's struggle. I was raised without religion and they way my parents tought me the value of life was to harshly punish me when I bullied someone and lecture me on why treating others respectfully is important. If you still want to call me an evil idiot, you'll get blocked.
@Joelsef2898 first, i grew up basically without religion. second, religious people of Christianity do not kill all the thinking its right. And third. You ignored all the other comments/facts. Because you would have known that everything you say is good or bad, right or wrong is just opinion aka not real. Tell me. What is the value of life? Not your opinion but a factual answer. Not possible. Your parents(who seem truly good under a world view with absolutes only) use morals copied from us. FACTS
@lifecon1 The value of life is that each individual organism has a conscience. To take away that organism's conscience ie. killing it is to take away the most important thing an organism has. Because you like saying it, I will say it to: FACT. Every organism requires other organisms for its survival. FACT. To upset this balance is to upset the entire world. FACT If I don't value life, I guess I should be locked up or killed, right?
Examples of Christians killing people in the belief they are right: the crusades, the inquisition, abortion clinic bombers. You have bad people on your side to. Own that. I do.
@Joelsef2898 lets give you a more current example. A artist like ex: snoop dogg smokes weed. Therefore they blame all rap for being a bad influence. If rap was made to be good music, then you don't judge all of it for the actions of a few. Those specific people(the crusades for ex:) are misinterpreting the scriptures and doing what they assume is right, ignoring the word. They do not represent Christianity. They represent people who committed things for their own manipulated desires.
@lifecon1 Great. So don't point to Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler or whoever and say they represent atheism. They dont. They represent my beliefs just as much as the crusaders represent yours.
@Joelsef2898 No they represent your beliefs exactly. They are atheist.yes. They have and use their opinion of the world to shape their lives.yes. They do not believe in any god.yes.They have no real meaning in life.yes.They were never actually consistent in atheism as no one can be today.yes.And being that if the world really didn't have a god, everything they did cannot be considered bad or good. They just did things that worked with their opinion, ignoring the flaw that they have no real morals
@Joelsef2898 what the crusades did was "say" they were Christians. They did things in the name of our lord. But since it was against our beliefs, they were not Christians. Anyone who does kill aimlessly or in the name of a god is not consistent in their beliefs and only represent themselves. An atheist does the same today, in the name of meaning and value. So if you were consistent and did whatever you want, but admit its only your opinion and nothing more, then your okay. But I doubt you could.
@lifecon1 What Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot did was SAY they were atheists. They didn't do things in the name of Atheism. They did what they did in the name of eugenics, which every modern atheist is thoroughly against, the state and in the name of Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot. They were selfish assholes, something you don't have to be religious or atheist to be. Case in point: you. You think I deserve eternal torture just because I don't believe what you do. That is sick.
@lifecon1 If you had your way, atheists would be imprisoned and forced to convert to Christianity. If we refused to, you would have us executed. If you truly believe we are worse than sociopaths, then this is the logical conclusion of what you're spouting. Don't try to deny this, I have heard this from people who talk about atheists the exact same way you do.
@Joelsef2898 wow obviously you have not listened to what i have been writing because your last two comments you just assumed things way off topic. What I said was what atheist should do if they are consistent within their world view. Since you do actually value life and you do actually have a real sense of love and caring, obviously you will never be consistent in your atheism. That is okay. What it means is that you must actual think about converting for a few reasons: not because you would go
@lifecon1 continued:to hell, but because there is a real value in life and you have to find that out for yourself personally. I am putting down the inconsistent illogical idea of atheism and not the people who follow it. I in no way am superior to you. We are equal. I have listened and continue to see the same flaws repeatedly, and you multiple times have not listened to what i have written, yet accuse me of the same. what I am saying is it is your choice to convert or not, but remember, I laid
cointinued: down the information. It shows logically, that no one is able to, or willing to stay consistent in atheism. Instead they want to take on morals, value, and live life well just as people with religions do. There are people who do what we consider to be absolutely "wrong", but its forgivable. All of it is. So if you choose not to pursue the truth of why you are actually here, well that is you deciding to dismiss the info. I only win in the sense that, i showed you up every time, but
cont: that is not my goal. My goal is that you take the facts and actually put them to good use, in example, research religions, Keep and open mind, and use the common sense i know you have to stop living in an opinionated world view that doesn't work. So if you don't decide to do anything, well I guess I'll never meet you and never get to see you walk rightly. You decided to live illogically. That is something that saddens us as Christians, but you have a freewill. I hope the best for you.
@lifecon1 I obviously completely misunderstood where you come from, and I apologize. However, you did the same thing. I am not an atheist because I do not research religion and don't know what they say. I do. I'm aware of much of what's in the bible, hearing from religious and non religious sources. I'm also not an atheist because I hate religion. That's another misconception. It's because I'm unable to believe the claims religions put forth. Until I see proof that God exists, I won't believe.
@Joelsef2898 okay exactly what type of claims are you talking about? give me a few examples if you will. because there is much evidence supporting claims of the existence of a god. One would be intelligent design of the universe. But what claims are you talking about?
@lifecon1 If you actually study any of this "evidence" for the existence of a God, it is all based on one of two things:
1) I don't know of a better explanation, so I am going to accept this baseless claim without evidence that amounts of "Magic did it".
2) I see things that are convenient to me. Boy is it convenient. It must be convenient for a reason. What? There are inconvenient things too that don't support my ideas? How convenient. Magic must have made this so convenient for me.
@KazeKirin none of what you said made any sense. There is literally no other explanation logically that could make sense. Therefore its is supporting evidence, not convince for god. Now can you please explain an example of a claim?
@lifecon1@lifecon1 Very well: "The universe seems to be intelligently designed." This claim is usually based two major presuppositions. The first is that there is a God (and you are trying to prove it), and that human beings and our current wants and desires was some form of desired outcome. One might see an example of something convenient for us like the existence of gravity. Without gravity we wouldn't be alive. Then they find other things convenient to us like sunlight.
@KazeKirin But since we have oxygen, a theist will say "Wow, for there to be oxygen someone must have put it there for me, how else could it have gotten there?". The "how else" is the argument from ignorance which is the next possible intelligence claim. The person starts with the assumption they are right and claims because they personally do not know how else other than God and Magic such a thing could exist, then God/Magic must be how it got there.
@lifecon1 Using the arrogant assumption that human beings, or at least life on this planet, was a desired result and use that as a base to say "For there to be so many things convenient for us, it must be intelligently designed". This ignores the vast majority of things that are inconvenient to us, and ignores the idea that we grew to adapt to what is around us and that is why we find them now convenient. Had there been no oxygen, we'd have adapted to consume something else for example.
@lifecon1 This is an example of saying that "because I don't know anything about the subject, I am going to pick an answer that feels good".
The last type of intelligence claim is "recognition of design", which is baseless. Again they start with the assumption of a God, and that he designed everything, and that we are the desired result. This is done one of two ways. One is Complexity (how can things be complex without design), which is identical to the previous example of argument...
@lifecon1 from ignorance about oxygen. They don't have an answer, so they are picking one that feels good (and likely ignoring other explanations because they don't make them feel good). Evolution explains complexity, and is proven fact (this is how vaccines are developed for example), but they chuck it aside because it doesn't fit their presupposed world view.
The other way is "I just recognize design", which is bogus. You recognize design by it's contrast to what is naturally made.
@lifecon1 If everything is designed, there would be NO WAY to tell it apart from what isn't, like asking a blind person who has never seen colours to describe the colour blue. It is only by contrast between naturally formed things and designed things that we can tell the difference. This type of claim falls into one of the first two I mentioned earlier (trying to explain convenient things, and argument from ignorance).
There is not one shred of evidence of a God. Only evidence of poor logic.
@lifecon1 The fact you can sit there and say "there is no other explanation other than God", which is the same as "there is no other explanation than magic" proves you know nothing on the subject. You are picking what feels good for you. Go out and actually study for a change, learn about our world from someone other than a pastor.
@xRocketNumber9x the difference is people who are atheist believe different things. some put faith in evolution. some don't. some think they have actual morals. some don't. But for those who say they have value in life. That they are good or live good lives. That morals are not from a higher being and they evolve over time. They are being intellectually dishonest. They are inconsistent. They are actually closer to nihilist. because you nor anyone on any planet can live consistently as an atheist
@lifecon1 You don't have to put faith in evolution. It's a fact. You 're welcome not to believe it, as is an atheist (as you point out) but that has no bearing on reality. And I think you're the one being intellectually dishonest. You're basically saying something akin to: "Zeus is the source of logic and reason. If you think you can keep using logic and reason without believing in him, you're being intellectually dishonest". You can't brush atheism off with your bald assertions, sorry.

All things are physical , there is no spiritual . All things begin at point A and end at point B . The universe is vast , but it does end . I just don't know what is on the other side . Infinite , how could that be .
In the beginning, there was a human author who wrote these words that you are now reading. THEN god created the heavens and the earth, and that human author was floating there in "the void" to witness it. Why is it that religious folks will often not believe evolution because "no one was there", but the FIRST FRICKIN' WORDS IN THE BIBLE claim to describe an event NO ONE COULD HAVE OBSERVED! So their objection to "evolution" based on no eye witnesses isn't intellectually honest.
1 - The Bible is somewhat based in history, but overall it is fiction.
2 - There are valuable morality lessons in the Bible, but it is not always an exemplar of moral behavior. Some recommendations in the Bible are immoral.
3 - People can be raised in all kinds of ways to be religious or non-religious, but religion can and is taken too far. Gospel does not equal true.
why didn't he throw a little physics in the bibble, then we'd be able to say 'look, 2000 years ago there is no way they could have known that.' Would have stopped a lot of killing and debating if he would do even the simplest thing.
This lady became an atheist the same way I did. Its nice to see. People always tell me to read the bible. I mean it couldn't hurt, but why should I bother investing that much effort into reading up on one religion over another. I'm not going to spend my life reading every religious claim ever made. I'm too busy for that. Give a logical reason why Christianity is right and THEN I'll look into it.
Aren't we Atheist so naughty today, walking around so regal with ourselves. Why do these stupid shows make Atheism so needy in needing validation. Can't we think for ourselves. I hate being associated with such ignorant, unintelligent clap trap. There is nothing more weak than needing to ridicule others to feel accepted. You all give Atheism a bad wrap.
@pmlc8 What's ironic about you making this remark "You all give Atheism a bad wrap". This bothers me and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this critique for lack of a better word. As atheists we accept and understand why it is that theists are programmed to express themselves with belief as a cornerstone so it's understandable that they would an -ism with any concept pertaining to a "belief" or in our case unbelief. But an atheist saying it while addressing other who have disbelief in common,
@pmlc8 doesn't imply in the actual sense of the word as if we all have the same point of view with the disbelief in god(s) makes the "whole" having a position in common makes us all a collective within the same opinion. Not the same ideaology, having opinions in common doesn't make an idealogy of the whole. The -ism has to go. It's confusing enough already.
this lady is nuts man. What next? shes going to try to convince us that Harry Potter is just a work of fiction? or that STAR WARS did not really happen in another galaxy? Jeez some people like her do not even believe in Santa Clause! She is out of touch with reality!!
The bible is an amazing book but it is total fiction and contradicts itself like crazy. I'm an Atheist and I read the bible several times. Most religious people who tell me to read the bible never actually read it themselves cover-to-cover.
I love how retarded athiest points are, they dont believe in god but there entire lives revolve around the subject. Athiest=idiots, grow the fuck up if you dont believe in god then why do you guys constantly talk about him? morons.
@card969 - The Easter Bunny must be real since you can't prove he doesn't exist. Same argument... Atheists are trying to get people to THINK and not just blindly believe in magical fairy tale beings. Man constructed the concept of god to make the universe a less scary lonely place. These superstitious beliefs belong back in the days of primitive tribes not advanced civilized culture.
lol there again, the problem with athiests is, just because THEY dont believe in something the rest os the world must be wrong. Lets see a few hundred thousand athiests versus a few billion religious people. Yeah we are weong thats right lol. Your arguments are week, you cannot provide proof that god doesnt exist so you throw a smoke screen question up to thiests telling them to prove it, liek i said before no one on earth can prove a FEELING.
@card969 No one can prove a feeling but, it SHOULD be very easy to prove something as big as a God claim. And you can't do that. Just because an opinion is popular doesnt make it anymore justified, so your logic is VERY flawed. And as others have said, if the God of the Bible DOES end up being real..I still refuse to bow down to anything that evil and that stupid.
actually no its NOT flawed, its actually the exact opposite, and you are saying that to drive attention away from the question i asked you but refuze to awnser.
Therefore i win this argument, unless of coarse you decide to man up and awnser my question.
@Tiptoetherat I was talking about the one in the bible. your just a troll who decide to not figure out logic such as absolute morality and other things? Atheist keep trying to ignore this and other flaws in there logic but never give a real answer, and then when one person can't come up with an answer concerning god they dismiss the whole thing. That is being ignorant and being dishonest. Now ask away with a real question and i will answer if you truly want it.
@lifecon1 Yikes....you havent read the Bible have you? Killing innocnet people, homophobia, sexism, and slavery..they all get a thumbs up from God. That's not a good or loving God if you ask me. I won't stoop to your level of name calling (and poor grammer). Go read your Bible, don't waste your time with a reply, I'm not going to read it.
@card969 They talk about God because their lives are constantly bombarded by religious folk. Weather its people telling them they are going to hell for not believing, to attempts to pass laws like Prop-8 which are driven by religion to discriminate against others, or people who attack the school system because they don’t like science. Atheists have had enough of the injustices the religious promote.
I'll go to your church with you, if you will come and smoke pot with me and look through a telescope. Joe Rogan said it something like that. That's what I say to religious folks now. Works like a charm, never hear from them again :)
This is a really terrific point the caller makes. Of the course the Bible is pure fantasy, with a few historical references thrown in here and there. And she's totally right that a rational, unindoctrinated adult person can tell it's a fantasy pretty much from the very first verse.
I read the Bible. By the time you finish the book of Exodus you really wonder what's so great about God.
The other thing you find, within just the first 8 chapters, is that almost no one who claims to believe it has even read it. Read the story of Noah's ark and it is numerically different than it is ever, ever portrayed. And this is one of the most quoted stories in the bible.
Not only are most theists lazy about science, they are also incredibly lazy about their own religion.
"Beyond the laws of physics" she says. What she doesn't understand is, "God is a spirit." John 4:24 "A spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have." Luke 24:39 God is NOT governed by the law of physics because he IS A SPIRIT. So, she opens the Bible and basically says, God must be governed by the very things he creates. The very first reason out her mouth for not reading the Bible is contradicting logic! Yet, you call her a good caller. pshhh
@wherethebiblespeaks You are quoting passages from a fairy story.Everything is governed by the laws of physics and there is no such thing as a "spirit".Stop living in a fantasy world.
"Everything" you say? So, you know about and have knowledge of "everything" existing in the entire universe? I guess you've seen "Everything" there is! I guess you've been to all parts of the universe and seen it all, and can confirm that "everything" works like you say it does! If you don't know about it, it simply doesn't exist, right? Its just not possible that there are things you have not seen or know about that are not subject to the physical laws, right? I see.
@wherethebiblespeaks Correct.Everything originated from the big bang and everything is governed by the same laws.Everything in the Universe is composed of elements in the Periodic Table and the speed of light is a Universal Constant "C". I don't think you do "see" do you?
1. You've just asserted the same thing you've already said, so you're not getting anywhere.2. I say there wasn't a big bang. Its you living in a fantasy. 3. I "see" you think you can just say something is true and it makes it so. I "see" a fool claiming to have knowledge of everything. I "see" you believe matter created matter. I "see" you think the "periodic table" and these "laws that govern everything" just happen by themselves. Hmmm, laws happen by chance...pshhh
@wherethebiblespeaks 1. Explain to me what created your creator. 2. Explain to me where your creator obtained the matter and energy to create the Universe. 3. Explain to me the process by which your creator formed the matter and energy into the Universe. 4. Explain why your creator formed trillions of stars, planets, moons, solar systems and galaxies if it's purpose was just to have a habitat for a few human beings. 5. Explain why creator included Entropy in it's design.
Ok, but this will take multiple comments. I will number them according to your question. 1. In our physical world a thing won't exist unless something already existing creates it or brings it about. You agree on this, otherwise you wouldn't be asking what created the creator. God is a spirit. A spirit is not bound by physical laws. Through the power of the spirit, Jesus was able to walk on water, and do other physical impossibilities (Luke 4:18, Mrk. 14:25) My answer continues.....
@wherethebiblespeaks " You agree on this, otherwise you wouldn't be asking what created the creator. " No I don't.I think the idea is absurd , but I am asking it from your POV." God is a spirit. A spirit is not bound by physical laws." This is not an answer.Explain whether a "spirit" is Matter or Energy with references to research into this.Just because you say something doesn't make it true.
continued from 1.....We both know that SOMETHING MUST have ALWAYS existed, otherwise nothing would exist at all. What makes more sense; that the natural world and elements always existed (even though we know that it IS IN the natural world where NOTHING exist without being created), or that there something that doesn't work or operate like the physical world does? Hence - a spirit. Which just means something beyond the physical. Just like when the bible says.......contin...
continued from 1 again.....just like when the bible says theres a "street of gold" in heaven; heaven is a spiritual place, but God has to tell us something we can understand. Its not a physical street (there'll be no cars), nor is it physical gold. It just explains what we can understand. My point is, God did not have to be created, because whatever a spirit is, it does not work like things in our world do. Next question.....
2. He created it. Where would matter and energy come from anyway? From nothing? If it came from something, whence came that something? 3. Through his word, which is Jesus Christ. "In the beginning was the word (John 1:1)" "For by him (Jesus) were all things created (Col. 1:16).." God said (with that word) "let there be light and there was light (Gen. 1:3)." Next question...........
4.) After judgment day, God's people won't be on the earth (Matt. 24:35). Paul said, "For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God (Rom. 8:19)." In other words, the creature, or that is, the creation (which includes those stars and solar systems) is there for the manifestation of the sons of God. God didn't make them for nothing. 5. Why do you ask about entropy?
Why? Because it "pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." Also, you don't know the heart or mind of everyone included in the "us." Shall I not attempt to save even one soul just because you think nobody can be convinced if you can't?
@wherethebiblespeaks by "us" i mean atheists. your on an atheist video. if people wanted to be saved they wouldnt be listening to an atheist radio station that bash the shit out of your religion. also using bible verses to try and convince us is pointless. atheist dont belive in the bible
You don't speak for all atheist regardless of whether you think you do or not. You say atheist don't believe in the Bible. "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God Rom. 10:17." This is why you don't believe in the Bible, because you will not hear it!
@wherethebiblespeaks im not speaking for atheists im telling you what an atheist is. And please dont bring up that bullcrap about we havent read the bible. a lot of us (me for instance) are atheists because we read the bible. its full of fairytales with no evidence and a considerate amount of very bad things that you religous folks seem to foget about. Genocide slavery pillaging and rape etc.......
No, you were indeed speaking for them. Your first comment to me was NOT telling me what an atheist is but that they were not going to be convinced by me. Therefore, you were speaking for them. And again, you don't know all atheist. There's a difference between reading and understanding, which I'm willing to bet you never understood the things you read. How about an example of those bad things?
@wherethebiblespeaks yes lets do give some examples. acts of genocide - the great flood (which never happened) parts of joshua and not to mention the countless acts of murdering children. also this phrase that wealso read about jesus bringing corruption and destruction to earth rather than peace: "Do not suppose that I [Jesus] have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. (Matthew 10:34)"
One by one: Jesus could not make peace on earth as long as it's inhabited by people opposing his will. He would have to annihilate all wicked people (you are apparently opposed that). He said I bring a "sword." The next verses tell us his meaning (Matt. 10:35-37). When people become Christian (true Christians, not pseudo) it is not usual their entire families convert also, therefore the rest of the family persecutes them. Hence, we must Christ more than family. Continued...
continued... the "sword" is not war but division between families. Unfortunately, not all of a Christian's earthly family will believe God. God lets the weeds and wheat grow together (hence the lack of peace) until he separates them on the last day (Matt. 13). Next, you oppose the flood (which you say didn't happen) that wiped out the wicked. This brought peace to the earth for the righteous (Noah), but you're not content with this. next, continued....
The children of the wicked nations were killed because they would have grown to become wicked just like their fathers. This would save them from growing up and being wicked and then having to pay for their sins on judgment day. Do we prefer the latter for them? The genocide you speak of falls into the same thing. Here the most important thing you miss - that if the world would follow God's word in the first place, these things never would have resulted....continued....
continued...in fact, the world would be a much better place (including that peace) if it would follow the principles of peace and love of God's word. "Love your neighbor as yourself."
@wherethebiblespeaks ha!!! Ever heard of the dark ages? the spanish crusades? obviously you dont know your history. there was roughly 800 years of no technological advancement becuase of your religion. your religion has spilled the most blood of human beings. your religion has caused wars. so no the world would not be a better place if everyone followed the principles of gods word. the world would a better place if we ignored your bible and your god and followed REASON AND LOGICAL THINKING!!!
You do not know what you talk about! The dark ages were brought about by the Roman Catholic Church. Now you tell me what similarities there are between the Catholic church and the Jesus' church. Paul said "the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (2 Cor. 10:4)." It was not Christianity, but Paganism that did that. The Catholic church is pagan with the Christian name only. Where in the Bible did Jesus establish the Catholic Church? Can you tell me that?
and don't leave out the fact that God pleaded with mankind continually before these events you speak of. Going back to Cain, God said, "if you do well, you shall be accepted." Cain went on to kill his brother. Cain's lineage became an evil people. Why do you stumble over the horrible end result of the lives the wicked lead? Instead of blaming them, you blame God for bringing justice to them, even after first pleading for them to change and do good to each other!
@wherethebiblespeaks it has only been through science and reason that we have advanced to where we are the past 3 hundred years. no tbecause of your book. but beceause we put that book aside and embraced reason and logical thinking that we have advanced to where we are. if we had followed your silly book we would stil be stuck in the damn dark ages.
As I just said, the Catholic church was not established by Christ. They are a pagan system with a Christian theme. Actually if you do your history, it was the people coming to this country in attempt to escape the church of Rome that kick started this country. The "pilgrims" were fleeing the religious persecution of Rome and England. You know neither history, or the Bible. If you knew the bible, you'd know the difference between the church of Rome and Jesus' Church.
@wherethebiblespeaks i could care less what religion did it. the fact it that because of religion the dark ages happened and would be better off to put those primitive believes behind.
My friend, this is exactly what you miss. If men would listen to God and his principles, the world would not be like it is. Its NOT "because of religion," but because of humans not believing in God. The Catholic Church religion, for example, does not believe God. If it did, it wouldn't forbid it's Priest to marry (1 Tim 4:3). It wouldn't label it's priest "father." Jesus said to call no man father. This was in the context of religious titles (not biological fathers.)
@wherethebiblespeaks We have not gotten to where we are now because people believe in god and listen to god. we have gotten to where we are by secular means not religous. we have become a much more advanced because of science, astronomy, mathematics. Not by worshiping some deity that takes such extremes to hide himself
I guess all the child rape, murder, theft, hatred, adultery, aids, death, poverty, starvation, suicide bombing, and more is no big deal since we are technologically advanced. Well, I'm the opposite of you. I'd rather live archaically, than to have all the evils we have in the world.
@wherethebiblespeaks and suicide Bombing is because of religion. also i didnt say there wasnt crime there will always be crime in my opinion. death is an inevitable. blame the catholic church for the aids epidemic and the pope who says that wearing comdoms is worse than aids and that opposes safe sex (birth control condoms etc...) ande it is a big deal. i didnt even mention crime. which is why were working on how to solve these problems instead of asking god to do everything for us.
1. I wasn't speaking of "religion" but of that of God and that of men. Suicide bombing isn't commanded of Jesus Christ. 2. I didn't blame the Catholic church for the aids epidemic. I simply showed the error of your assertion that the Church of Christ (not denominations of Christ) is not the Catholic church, and therefore your accusation that "my religion" caused the dark ages. 3. I didn't mention "crimes" either. Crime infers secular law. I mentioned evil. continued........
and 4. The solution is just what I told you. Follow God's law of love and selflessness. 5. Who is asking God to do everything? Not me. God has given us the truth of righteousness. God's not going to do it for us. He's not going to force us to do right, or to love each other.
@wherethebiblespeaks Evil has always been a part of the world since Homo Sapiens evolved. So your statement of "I'd rather live archaically, than to have all the evils we have in the world" is flawed logic.
@wherethebiblespeaks Really?? Why then is America the most violent nation on the planet (also the most religious), while atheistic countries like Sweden, Norway, etc. have MUCH lower levels of violence?
Fuck god.

Eriance 2 months ago
@Eriance exactly--I often tell Christians that if they stop allowing themselves to be spoon fed at the pulpit and actually READ the bible cover to cover there is no way they could, with a sound mind, remain a Christian.
sepiasiren 4 weeks ago
they wouldn't be religious if they weren't being evangelistic, atleast not fulfilling the full duties of their faith. So as someone who was raised in a religious family, it's not hard to understand why they operate this way.

@giovanone what the fuck are you talking about? i didn't get any of that. it is a scientific fact that frogs turn into princes? what school was that?

An Eve made from Adam's rib genetically makes her his identical twin...sister! Not possible!
After sitting in the dark and pondering about it forever, God finally took great pains to design and make the Earth and the universe (in that order) but immediately turned his back on all of it because two people, who were uneducated, unwise, and who didn't know right from wrong or good from evil, made a single bad decision that he scammed them into in the first place. Makes sense.

how could god have created everything in 7 days when the sun wasn't created yet? plus days where a lot faster when the earth was created since the rotation is slowing down over time
bw2182 9 months ago

Under an consistent athesit view either is equally correct.
lifecon1 11 months ago
@tiptoetherat. Wow keep making yourself ignorant. You go read a bible unbiasedly as you dont want answers, you just want to take things out of context and pretend you have a reason. God allowed those people to die because he is ultimately just and will/did judge only those who were evil. Those for ex babies would have been spared into heaven. So next time actually llok for the reason why instead of ignoring answers in front of you.idiot.

@lifecon1 You don't need a book to teach you about morals. Even dogs have morals.
maxergud 11 months ago
@maxergud by your logic, you must not even need a brain to have morals, if you were correct. Thankfully logic, science, and truth state that is wrong, as you can say dogs have morals but who's morals. Yours? Your associates? Either way all that is just opinion. Morals are not opinion. If they are REAL morals, they must be given by someone and be absolute. SO GOD logically has to be factual.
lifecon1 11 months ago
@lifecon1 Who said you don't need a brain? You make a lot of conclusions that has nothing to do with fact. And i disagree about that they have to be given by someone absolute, we develop them ourselves in our societies.
maxergud 11 months ago

Would you suggest that this planet, not being endowed with divine morality, would just be a huge bloodbath of sociopathic, relentlessly selfish, sinful creatures, completely unable to cooperative, feel empathy, or form social bonds?
xRocketNumber9x 11 months ago
@xRocketNumber9x they could form bonds. but that's where it is basically random chance. there is no reason why they should get together for similar interest or not. either way is correct with no morals. And there is no fast forwarding. it just there. no evolution is needed. There could be places where people learn to communicate and get along or places on the planet where they just kill or be killed. As far as being moral, there is none and they are both equal ways of living.
lifecon1 11 months ago
@lifecon1 "but that's where it is basically random chance. there is no reason why they should get together for similar interest or not."
Yes there is. If you have a group of cavemen that help each other hunt, forage, tend to each others wounds, share burdens, protect each other, fight other tribes, etc. They will survive a thousand times better than some group who is just doing whatever they feel like. The cooperators pass on their genes, and their teachings, the aimless rejects die out.
xRocketNumber9x 11 months ago
@xRocketNumber9x you can believe n do what you. You can use logic, but if there is no reason to use it,then it doesn't matter. Because if you were to die from a muderer tomorow under your world view, it shouldn't matter since your life literally has no meaning if you are true to yourself
lifecon1 11 months ago
@lifecon1 That is so totally absurd. Our lives have more meaning because we know its the only one we are going to have. There is this thing called a legacy, people will remember you thats how we live on. Most everyone wants to be thought of fondly and inspirational and taught the things theists take for granted. We take nothing for granted. There is nothing that you have that I want. It is fake, it is dysfunctional and abusive. No to having a "meaningful life" if that's how you want to pretend
splicedenergy 11 months ago
@splicedenergy wow i can't even count the flaws in what you wrote. That's really bad, but ill try to point them out. First, since your an atheist you have a relative world view. Now that means that anything you say that anyone should do or not do, is right or wrong, good or bad, is just an OPINION. So under your world view who cares about a legacy. It is all opinion. Did you not just read the above comments. Or do you ignore information like many atheist do. SMH
lifecon1 11 months ago
@splicedenergy Next how does your life have more meaning? Majority of atheist cannot even agree on the same meaning or if there is one(other than there made up personal meanings which are automatically invalid). WE DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED. I am only putting it in bold so you realize how big of a flaw that is. And whoever told you that either lied, has a flawed presumption about our specific religion, or is just ignorant.
lifecon1 11 months ago
@splicedenergy Next, you just contradicted yourself in saying "It is fake, it is dysfunctional and abusive.". First, it is not and just claiming that with no evidence, not to mention ignoring facts is intellectually dishonest. Also, I do not know where you got this from or who twisted your mind up, but i hope you get help for that. The atheist relative morality world view is dysfunctional. Because no one ever is or could be consistent in living that way including you. I gave you a fact/reason.
lifecon1 11 months ago
@splicedenergy Last because its the simplest flaw."Most everyone wants to be thought of fondly and inspirational and taught the things theists" That is another opinion. Yes people prefer to live well and long. But if there is no reason other than the opinions we "make up individually" we are just ignoring facts. All your so called"morals" are opinions. All opinions are equally valid. So that means all morals for every person would be equally valid. True? NO because...........
lifecon1 11 months ago
@splicedenergy ..... Imagine a world without religion. A world where people kill, rob, care, make children, build homes, bomb places, etc. Just like our world. Here is the diff: If someone comes into your house and says"im here to kill you, cause I "think" its right". what do you do?You may say no cause I think its wrong. You may also try to prevent his attack. But who is more correct? There both opinions. There both equal. So it doesn't matter who wins. Because its all opinion and there's no meaning.
lifecon1 11 months ago
@lifecon1 All I have to do is read the 1st sentence to remind you that you are a hypocrite ans closet atheist, any and all religion is an opinion. You cant side step that
splicedenergy 11 months ago
@splicedenergy Now how is it an opinion if over and over millions of people show evidence, find new evidence, and continue to? Its not. I do not side step it. You side step my whole argument, which would have to be agreed to first. Since you decide to choose wrong, your just wrong. Simple. You blindly put faith in the belief(because atheism is not proven, and in fact the opposite is more logical) and have a closed mind. I'm tired of people like you lying and acting like your better. get a life.
lifecon1 11 months ago
@lifecon1 I have and it would be the most peaceful world this world has seen in nearly 5 billion years. There is no god, therefore no one can say my god is better than yours we're bombing you. Atheists have the lowest crime rate and have far more superior morals than any god you've imagined. Our morals are based because your god is are awful tyrannical, murderous whatever deity. There is nothing more immoral than any deity on record especially the christian god. Do not play
splicedenergy 11 months ago
@splicedenergy wow and where do you make this up from. you head based on no evidence. All I continue hearing from you is my god and any god is evil and the world would be a better place without them and should be that way. See opinion without facts again, and you just ignored so much information from my other comments that I know you could only do so purposefully. It is sad how you will suffer and are suffering blindly. But there's is always a way to change. That is another fact.
lifecon1 11 months ago
Read it this time. Imagine a world without religion. A world where people kill, rob, care, make children, build homes, bomb places, etc. Just like our world. Your choice to live how you want, pretending to be in a world where there's such a thing as right or wrong. oh wait your world view can't have that. idiot.
lifecon1 11 months ago
@lifecon1 Religious people kill people thinking it's right all the time. You don't need religion to be good and you don't need to be godless to be evil. I think there's good and evil in everyone and to balance it is every person's struggle. I was raised without religion and they way my parents tought me the value of life was to harshly punish me when I bullied someone and lecture me on why treating others respectfully is important. If you still want to call me an evil idiot, you'll get blocked.
Joelsef2898 11 months ago
@Joelsef2898 first, i grew up basically without religion. second, religious people of Christianity do not kill all the thinking its right. And third. You ignored all the other comments/facts. Because you would have known that everything you say is good or bad, right or wrong is just opinion aka not real. Tell me. What is the value of life? Not your opinion but a factual answer. Not possible. Your parents(who seem truly good under a world view with absolutes only) use morals copied from us. FACTS
lifecon1 11 months ago
@lifecon1 The value of life is that each individual organism has a conscience. To take away that organism's conscience ie. killing it is to take away the most important thing an organism has. Because you like saying it, I will say it to: FACT. Every organism requires other organisms for its survival. FACT. To upset this balance is to upset the entire world. FACT If I don't value life, I guess I should be locked up or killed, right?
Joelsef2898 11 months ago
Examples of Christians killing people in the belief they are right: the crusades, the inquisition, abortion clinic bombers. You have bad people on your side to. Own that. I do.
Joelsef2898 11 months ago
@Joelsef2898 lets give you a more current example. A artist like ex: snoop dogg smokes weed. Therefore they blame all rap for being a bad influence. If rap was made to be good music, then you don't judge all of it for the actions of a few. Those specific people(the crusades for ex:) are misinterpreting the scriptures and doing what they assume is right, ignoring the word. They do not represent Christianity. They represent people who committed things for their own manipulated desires.
lifecon1 11 months ago

They just did things that worked with their opinion, ignoring the flaw that they have no real morals
lifecon1 11 months ago
@Joelsef2898 what the crusades did was "say" they were Christians. They did things in the name of our lord. But since it was against our beliefs, they were not Christians. Anyone who does kill aimlessly or in the name of a god is not consistent in their beliefs and only represent themselves. An atheist does the same today, in the name of meaning and value. So if you were consistent and did whatever you want, but admit its only your opinion and nothing more, then your okay. But I doubt you could.
lifecon1 11 months ago
@lifecon1 I'm done with you. You have no desire to listen. You only want to put atheists down and feel superior to us.
Joelsef2898 10 months ago
@lifecon1 What Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot did was SAY they were atheists. They didn't do things in the name of Atheism. They did what they did in the name of eugenics, which every modern atheist is thoroughly against, the state and in the name of Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot. They were selfish assholes, something you don't have to be religious or atheist to be. Case in point: you. You think I deserve eternal torture just because I don't believe what you do. That is sick.
Joelsef2898 10 months ago
@lifecon1 If you had your way, atheists would be imprisoned and forced to convert to Christianity. If we refused to, you would have us executed. If you truly believe we are worse than sociopaths, then this is the logical conclusion of what you're spouting. Don't try to deny this, I have heard this from people who talk about atheists the exact same way you do.
Joelsef2898 10 months ago
@Joelsef2898 wow obviously you have not listened to what i have been writing because your last two comments you just assumed things way off topic. What I said was what atheist should do if they are consistent within their world view. Since you do actually value life and you do actually have a real sense of love and caring, obviously you will never be consistent in your atheism. That is okay. What it means is that you must actual think about converting for a few reasons: not because you would go
lifecon1 10 months ago
@lifecon1 continued:to hell, but because there is a real value in life and you have to find that out for yourself personally. I am putting down the inconsistent illogical idea of atheism and not the people who follow it. I in no way am superior to you. We are equal. I have listened and continue to see the same flaws repeatedly, and you multiple times have not listened to what i have written, yet accuse me of the same. what I am saying is it is your choice to convert or not, but remember, I laid
lifecon1 10 months ago
cointinued: down the information. I only win in the sense that, i showed you up every time, but
lifecon1 10 months ago
cont: that is not my goal. I hope the best for you.
lifecon1 10 months ago
@lifecon1 I obviously completely misunderstood where you come from, and I apologize. However, you did the same thing. I am not an atheist because I do not research religion and don't know what they say. I do. I'm aware of much of what's in the bible, hearing from religious and non religious sources. I'm also not an atheist because I hate religion. That's another misconception. It's because I'm unable to believe the claims religions put forth. Until I see proof that God exists, I won't believe.
Joelsef2898 10 months ago
@Joelsef2898 okay exactly what type of claims are you talking about? give me a few examples if you will. because there is much evidence supporting claims of the existence of a god. One would be intelligent design of the universe. But what claims are you talking about?
lifecon1 10 months ago
@lifecon1 If you actually study any of this "evidence" for the existence of a God, it is all based on one of two things:
1) I don't know of a better explanation, so I am going to accept this baseless claim without evidence that amounts of "Magic did it".
2) I see things that are convenient to me. Boy is it convenient. It must be convenient for a reason. What? There are inconvenient things too that don't support my ideas? How convenient. Magic must have made this so convenient for me.
KazeKirin 10 months ago
@KazeKirin none of what you said made any sense. There is literally no other explanation logically that could make sense. Therefore its is supporting evidence, not convince for god. Now can you please explain an example of a claim?
lifecon1 10 months ago
@lifecon1 @lifecon1 Very well: "The universe seems to be intelligently designed." This claim is usually based two major presuppositions. The first is that there is a God (and you are trying to prove it), and that human beings and our current wants and desires was some form of desired outcome. One might see an example of something convenient for us like the existence of gravity. Without gravity we wouldn't be alive. Then they find other things convenient to us like sunlight.
KazeKirin 10 months ago
@KazeKirin But since we have oxygen, a theist will say "Wow, for there to be oxygen someone must have put it there for me, how else could it have gotten there?". The "how else" is the argument from ignorance which is the next possible intelligence claim. The person starts with the assumption they are right and claims because they personally do not know how else other than God and Magic such a thing could exist, then God/Magic must be how it got there.
KazeKirin 10 months ago
@lifecon1 Using the arrogant assumption that human beings, or at least life on this planet, was a desired result and use that as a base to say "For there to be so many things convenient for us, it must be intelligently designed". This ignores the vast majority of things that are inconvenient to us, and ignores the idea that we grew to adapt to what is around us and that is why we find them now convenient. Had there been no oxygen, we'd have adapted to consume something else for example.
KazeKirin 10 months ago
@lifecon1 This is an example of saying that "because I don't know anything about the subject, I am going to pick an answer that feels good".
The last type of intelligence claim is "recognition of design", which is baseless. Again they start with the assumption of a God, and that he designed everything, and that we are the desired result. This is done one of two ways. One is Complexity (how can things be complex without design), which is identical to the previous example of argument...
KazeKirin 10 months ago
@lifecon1 from ignorance about oxygen. They don't have an answer, so they are picking one that feels good (and likely ignoring other explanations because they don't make them feel good). Evolution explains complexity, and is proven fact (this is how vaccines are developed for example), but they chuck it aside because it doesn't fit their presupposed world view.
The other way is "I just recognize design", which is bogus. You recognize design by it's contrast to what is naturally made.
KazeKirin 10 months ago
@lifecon1 If everything is designed, there would be NO WAY to tell it apart from what isn't, like asking a blind person who has never seen colours to describe the colour blue. It is only by contrast between naturally formed things and designed things that we can tell the difference. This type of claim falls into one of the first two I mentioned earlier (trying to explain convenient things, and argument from ignorance).
There is not one shred of evidence of a God. Only evidence of poor logic.
KazeKirin 10 months ago
@lifecon1 The fact you can sit there and say "there is no other explanation other than God", which is the same as "there is no other explanation than magic" proves you know nothing on the subject. You are picking what feels good for you. Go out and actually study for a change, learn about our world from someone other than a pastor.
Free your mind.
KazeKirin 10 months ago 19
@xRocketNumber9x the difference is people who are atheist believe different things. some put faith in evolution. some don't. some think they have actual morals. some don't. But for those who say they have value in life. That they are good or live good lives. That morals are not from a higher being and they evolve over time. They are being intellectually dishonest. They are inconsistent. They are actually closer to nihilist. because you nor anyone on any planet can live consistently as an atheist
lifecon1 11 months ago
@lifecon1 You don't have to put faith in evolution. It's a fact. You 're welcome not to believe it, as is an atheist (as you point out) but that has no bearing on reality. And I think you're the one being intellectually dishonest. You're basically saying something akin to: "Zeus is the source of logic and reason. If you think you can keep using logic and reason without believing in him, you're being intellectually dishonest". You can't brush atheism off with your bald assertions, sorry.
xRocketNumber9x 11 months ago
@maxergud by your logic, you must not even need a brain to have morals, if you were correct. Thankfully logic, science, and truth state that is wrong, as you can say dogs have morals but who's morals. Yours? Your associates? Either way all that is just opinion. Morals are not opinion. If they are REAL morals, they must be given by someone and be absolute. SO GOD logically has to be factual.

Points to take away:
1 - The Bible is somewhat based in history, but overall it is fiction.
2 - There are valuable morality lessons in the Bible, but it is not always an exemplar of moral behavior. Some recommendations in the Bible are immoral.
3 - People can be raised in all kinds of ways to be religious or non-religious, but religion can and is taken too far. Gospel does not equal true.

Can't we think for ourselves. pmlc8 1 year ago
But an atheist saying it while addressing other who have disbelief in common,
splicedenergy 1 year ago
@pmlc8 doesn't imply in the actual sense of the word as if we all have the same point of view with the disbelief in god(s) makes the "whole" having a position in common makes us all a collective within the same opinion. Not the same ideaology, having opinions in common doesn't make an idealogy of the whole. The -ism has to go. It's confusing enough already.

Your arguments are week, you cannot provide proof that god doesnt exist so you throw a smoke screen question up to thiests telling them to prove it, liek i said before no one on earth can prove a FEELING.
card969 1 year ago 2
@card969 No one can prove a feeling but, it SHOULD be very easy to prove something as big as a God claim. And you can't do that. This is a really terrific point the caller makes. Of the course the Bible is pure fantasy, with a few historical references thrown in here and there. And she's totally right that a rational, unindoctrinated adult person can tell it's a fantasy pretty much from the very first verse.
DandAinTac 1 year ago

Yet, you call her a good caller. pshhh

I guess you've been to all parts of the universe and seen it all, and can confirm that "everything" works like you say it does! If you don't know about it, it simply doesn't exist, right? Its just not possible that there are things you have not seen or know about that are not subject to the physical laws, right? I see.
wherethebiblespeaks 1 year ago

Its not a physical street (there'll be no cars), nor is it physical gold. It just explains what we can understand. My point is, God did not have to be created, because whatever a spirit is, it does not work like things in our world do. Next question.....
wherethebiblespeaks 1 year ago
@lewisner

5. And again, you don't know all atheist. There's a difference between reading and understanding, which I'm willing to bet you never understood the things you read. How about an example of those bad things?
wherethebiblespeaks 1 year ago
@wherethebiblespeaks yes lets do give some examples. acts of genocide - the great flood (which never happened) parts of joshua and not to mention the countless acts of murdering children. also this phrase that wealso read about jesus bringing corruption and destruction to earth rather than peace: "Do not suppose that I [Jesus] have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. (Matthew 10:34)"
shaosokaos 1 year ago
@shaosokaos
Continued...
wherethebiblespeaks 1 year ago
@wherethebiblespeaks Annihalating wicked people is God's way of annihalating free will. So there ya go. :D
atheistram 1 year ago
@shaosokaos
continued... the "sword" is not war but division between families. Unfortunately, not all of a Christian's earthly family will believe God. God lets the weeds and wheat grow together (hence the lack of peace) until he separates them on the last day (Matt. 13). Next, you oppose the flood (which you say didn't happen) that wiped out the wicked. This brought peace to the earth for the righteous (Noah), but you're not content with this. next, continued....
wherethebiblespeaks 1 year ago
@shaosokaos
The children of the wicked nations were killed because they would have grown to become wicked just like their fathers. This would save them from growing up and being wicked and then having to pay for their sins on judgment day. Do we prefer the latter for them? The genocide you speak of falls into the same thing. Here the most important thing you miss - that if the world would follow God's word in the first place, these things never would have resulted....continued....
wherethebiblespeaks 1 year ago

@shaosokaos

@wherethebiblespeaks
and don't leave out the fact that God pleaded with mankind continually before these events you speak of.

@shaosokaos

@shaosokaos
and 4. The solution is just what I told you. Follow God's law of love and selflessness. 5. Who is asking God to do everything? Not me. God has given us the truth of righteousness. God's not going to do it for us. He's not going to force us to do right, or to love each other.

@wherethebiblespeaks and yet i find no reason to believe any such deity exists

So be it. Nice talking to you. Good day now.
