  • I came here through GTA IV. Pruitt Igoe, made for the film "Koyaanisqatsi".

    I never left.

  • we people deserve to live, some of us to make music, some of us to listen carefully ...

  • The butterfly's wings may have inspired this melody...I bet they have...;)

  • is it from movie : "the illusionist"

  • If a girl can make me feel the way this song does, I know I have to marry her immediatly!

  • all Arpeggio.. cool.

  • Amazing but also a little bit disturbing...

  • i really like the section that starts at 0:25

  • the end credits music for Haven sounds like Philip Glass. Is it?

  • it's sooooo weird. I always find music to be the most important thing in media. When I'm watching a film, if the music is good, I can forgive everything else. I've got many bad games in my collection just because the music is amazing.

Yet to most other people, anything outside of pop culture is like "WTF?" sad really. Oh well! I love this song! To think I only found out about Mr. Glass through that xboxlive game...

  • @kdreamland What game? If it has Philip Glass music I've got to play it!

  • @ilikelemons1 it's called 'Chime'. It's an Xbox Live Arcade game. it's a puzzle game. Just download the trial, and when you start game, just highlight Philip Glass to hear his music. (you cannot select the song unless you purchase the game) I don't know where that song is from, or what it's called, can anyone else help?

  • @kdreamland that's funny

  • @iscottm the game is called Chime on xbox live, download it and check it out

  • Beautiful, haunting yet fragile. Similiar to the score in The Illusionist.

  • immortal .."kiss"...of a "short life"... butterfly...

  • search nicolas and the iceni. they write beautiful contemporary classical and folk music which has echoes of glass.

  • Music is not just a way of living, its a way of life. People should respect this and it will live on!!!

  • Oh, that´s really beautiful.. ^^

  • 2 dislikes Looooool,))

  • I always see something similar to this, except driving through a blizzard for Philip Glass' Violin Concerto 2.

  • " without music, life would be a mistake"

  • the void of color of the part looking up through the trees brings out an ominous note I've never picked up on before

  • Beautiful

  • this makes me cry

  • @tueslabelledujour

I'm at my desk at work on the verge of tears... How I just discovered this music is beyond me. Amazing.

  • wonderful.

  • Diese Musik der Grund, warum wir leben! : )

  • 2:01 and onwards has an almost transcendental quality.

  • When does the title of a piece have to match with what is visually being presented?

  • nice vid.

Except I hate movie maker titles, but guess it's not really related.

  • BAD!!!!!! The song is about a kiss.. Where is the kiss?

MAL, MUY MAL.. El video no tiene nada que ver con el mensaje del beso..

    Atajo patanes!

  • @cjoank maybe it is about someone thinking about an amazing kiss they have had, or the feeling when you wait for ages to kiss someone.

  • Where is the kiss?? Driving around in a car then a butterfly sipping nectar from a flower...

  • @iomediavideos

The visuals aren't only imagery here. You and cjoank sound like cave men.

  • @iomediavideos Go leave your smartass comments somewhere else

  • @Becomingajackel relax listen to this song one more time

  • @iomediavideos if you had the eyes to see it the butterfly kissed the flower ;-D

  • What a shame that Philip Glass refuses to release the sheet music for most of his music. Reiman did a piano solo of this but will not release the sheet music. What is. the point of writing music and then preventing people from playing it? And then complaining that no one plays his music. Kind of hypocritical I think. Really frustrating for those of us who want to play it.

  • @clifwillard maybe he wants to wait awhile so he can stay somewhat unique. It also allows for musicians with an ear to attempt covers and possibly help other musicians out. If this is true the case then I think its a good thing :)

  • music for humanization

  • this song could really be anything. I listen to this often when I'm writing.

  • @epiksonik I would bring him cookies and ask him to play something for me :)

  • This ist so wonderful :)

  • Video con sfondo musicale davvero stupendo ;-)

  • Touches my soul. Whimsical & Romantic. I have just been swept .. Sun-kissed with warmth and floating dreams.

  • This music brings you to an other atmosphere, another time, another world, another me. It brings you to the love inside yourself and other people. It brings live, but also thoughts about death

  • This is just so superb..................I love driving listening to this kind of Philip Glass music. I feel like I'm in a movie and could drive for hours. No pun intended.

  • I'm glad I'm not the one person who dislikes this. His/her life must be miserable to not enjoy this.

  • my these song ..!!

  • Beautiful!

  • Whoremouthkid, you really live up to your name. As much as you are trying to sound intellectual your trolling leaves you looking foolish. Why not do something more worthwhile with that supposed mega brain of yours.

  • I think I have found the soundtrack to my life.

    This is it.

This is how my life could be described in music.

Then again,m perhaps that would be case with any life.

  • @Hadewijch the soundtrack for mine is a hurdy-gurdy cry

  • This has got to be one of the most truly beautiful things I've seen/heard in a long, LONG time.

  • anyone ever notice how the entirety of philip glass' piano music for films is one big poorly done moonlight sonata rip-off?

  • @kitchitwee

I guess "Pruitt Igoe" would remind you on "Bach" then.

  • @kitchitwee well...nope :)

  • At the end of time after everything is decayed this music will ring out and live forever.

  • When dark clouds are over you hovering keep going until you step on the rainbow.

  • The Greatest Pianist Ever. Period.

  • @MJSBTGillies

    No. That's simply incorrect.

Not saying his music isn't great (I like Glass a lot!)

    But that's just not true.

  • @Icix1 That's a matter of opinion you plebeian.

  • @whoremouthkid

That statement is a matter of opinion. I hereby banish your opinion forthwith.

  • @Icix1 You're nothing more than a pseudo-intellectual twat. That statement is as close to fact as it gets.

  • @whoremouthkid

    That's another opinion.

  • @Icix1 Like my first argument states, all of this is a matter of opinion.

  • minimal music = een accent op consonante samenklanken plus

een duidelijk tempo. X en zeker herhaling, herhaling, herhaling

  • ...warm in de auto...en tijdens het rijden. Dus t is in zekere zin een traditie...X

  • all his music is perfect for a movie soundtrack

  • @Smeagol601 i dont think einstein on a beach will fit in any movie, or two pages, contrary motions, and a lot more... but.. i dont know

  • I love drving with the music of Glass

  • @mkv669 me too, it makes everything i see while driving into a movie.

  • @mkv669 - I totally agree

  • I call his music "the sound of math"... don't understand me... just ask me :)

  • @WinterWineStudio i do understand you :)

  • makes sence, explain please :)

  • I am no where as good as a pianist as Glass but I do feel I have an approach similar but none as creative as him.

  • This is a real genius :O

    Wonderfull

  • this is why music is important

  • thank you so much!!

  • This is the best study time music

  • Nirvana!

  • wonderful philip

  • How wonderfull ^^

  • Incredibly inspiring music

  • genius

  • absolutely perfect!

  • this music will never die. its so powerful and enriching.

  • @damagex0inc yes, but think of it, mabey somone made a great song in the time of the azteks?, and now we dont know any of them. everything will be forgotten in time.

  • @Gudnazon The Azteks didn't have the filing and storage capabilities we have today, pretty sure they were still using Amistrads.

  • @damagex0inc Just like Justin Timberlake...

  • @damagex0inc Music does not breathe, music does not eat, music needs no water,Music nor does it sleep.

But yet Music can be a part of all of those things, enrich all of those things. To some it is [their]water, food air and

Helps us to sleep. It is played in our Celebrations, and in our mourning.
