  • I like this angle to view the swing from. You can really see him add lag to the shaft at the top of his backswing - the clubhead seems to hang there for a fraction of a second while his lower body begins to unwind.

  • He is a very good player. Adam has a rough time with his golf game, everyone says he's lost it and he's done. Tiger has a rough patch (i.e. 2004) and we all just say he's having a slump.

  • I notice, that when you compare Tiger's swing and Fred Couples' swing, Woods does not have the slight pause at the top. He transitions much quicker than Couples does. If it werent' Fred's bad back, who knows where he would be.

  • bend knees a little more, you do a slight shoulder dip on your downswing and you can really see when you come back up after impact.

  • dude distance doesnt matter...I could care less if you could hit the ball 400 yards but you cant keep the ball on the face of the earth. Its all about accuracy, sure distance helps but i'd give up 15 yards to be in the fairway every time.

  • Thats right his head dips then moves back up. He gets a little more club head speed with the move. This doesn't appear to work consistantly with the driver. I saw him win in 2000 at Pebble Beach.

  • the dip in tigers swing is part of the snap that he learnt as a teenager. it allows him to clear the hips quickly, however it can result in blocks to the right or snap hooks as the arms cant keep up with the lower body. Johnny miller also did this move

  • dont post if you dont have a clue, the dip in tigers DRIVER swing is because he is trying to keep the face level, it tends to be toe down at impact cuz he's ^ft 3, drivers are designed for %ft 10 or so, every tall player does it

  • j4mk1d. ive been a custom club fitter for about five years now. i play off a three handicap. tiger dose not dipp all the time. and tall players dont do this (take a look at the big easy) and the reason is because they have a longer shift.

    idiot. His clubs are custom made as are any serious golfers are. His clubs are probably made with an extreme, extreme acceptance threshold....meaning if the clubs are made 1/2" an inch longer and someone makes one .65 inches longer it will probably be rejected.

    His club specs are probably 1 or 2 degrees upright and maybe half an inch longer with every club. Get a clue. I am 6'4" and I can assure you I don't dip in my swing. My clubs are an inch longer than standard.
