  • John Lennon LIVES ON!!

  • @ Imkluu totally agree with you, supernatural.

  • I love this version of my all time favorite song by any artist. Lennon's vocals are so haunting and the words are just candy for the mind. Brilliant.

  • 5 people have no lives

  • what exactly is that contraption they are messing with?

  • @yaymike23 they're painting an old piano.

  • man im glad they took our the flute at the end...bad flashbacks x0

  • This couldn't be the first take. Maybe bits of the first take remixed in, but, if you listen from 3:07 to 3:27, you hear part of the song "Piggies", which was released on the White Album, a year after Strawberry Fields was released. I'm assuming this is bit and pieces of the song and of different takes, with bits and pieces of this and that remixed in for LOVE. But this version was definitely made after the original Strawberry Fields was released.

  • I recommend that anyone interested in the trivia of every original recording; a 'must have' is the book The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions by Mark Lewisohn. An entertaining read describing in fine detail, every recording and retake and how every number was conceived, engineered and assembled in the studio. The Original Strawberry Fields was used for the popular release 45rpm with the 1st 60 seconds, as is. The sound engineer, then assembled many other retakes to complete the remainder.

  • This song popped up yesterday.

Living is easy with eyes closed... (when you've so many beautiful things to think about!)

I'm waiting for someone to climb in my tree.

    Hgs

  • @MsEekhoorn Climb, jump, knock, knock, anybody home?

  • Wow

    i have this disc!

  • after listening to the other version, this seems to be in a different language, but the 2 r still awesome

  • I own love special edition and when i first hearde be this i was like holy crap! cuz this is the best version of strawberry feilds forever :D

  • I would have done everything to have been a beatle.

  • I love this version best♥ so soothing. "living is easy with eyes closed."-lyrics of life.

Plus the heya hey hey helloo part at the end is amazing!

  • I love the Hello Goodbye bit at the end. Whoever did this mix is a genius, the brass bits from different songs go together well in this song.

  • @deel85 same thoughts))

  • awesome song!

  • That tempo change and key change with the slide guitar at :30 is just the trippiest fucking thing ever.

  • This version is Epic!!!!

  • Strawberry Fields Forever (acoustic demo)+ Sgt.Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band+ In My Life+ Penny Lane+ Hello, Goodbye+ Piggies= Musical Genius

  • What take is the acoustic part from? Where can I find it?

  • This song is the proof Ringo is underestimated. The rhythm section of this song is simply amazing.

  • "LET ME TAKE YOU DOWN" in this is just perfect.

  • Where is the first section "no one i think is in my tree" in the original?

  • The Health and Safety Police would put a stop to any such nonsense these days.

  • 3 deaf people watched this video :/

  • I wish the song stayed as acoustic as the beginning. It's WAY too over the top towards the end.

  • Lennons voice is amazing!

  • How cool is watching the 4 of them (with Martha) at the very end dissapearing in the night.

  • and the gods tire of their old names

the world turns as they try on new skin

    a splendid visitation

say hello and then say goodbye until next time, dearest beloved

  • shows how much this song changes so much

  • I love this version!!.. you can tell the moment john and paul change over... from what ive heard.. they had a few disagreements about this song. john wanted it played one way and paul the other.. so they split it in half!!! but i love it :-)

  • Ive been to the dreamworld they created with this song. Have you?

  • the voice makes it sound like it was recorded and published in 1965 =0

  • @srocketdude you're close. john started this song in sept. '66. the beginning melotron .it's rumored, to have been started before that.

  • an amazing song from the best band to bless and grace this planet

  • PIGGIES!

  • until I heard love I never realized how well their songs fitted together I mean why would any think that strawberry fields forever can become a medley of like 7 songs.

  • 0:31 Total Psicodelic o0

  • 3:20 Piggies!!!!

  • amazing.

  • So good.

  • I love this version (-:

  • From what music they took the part of 2:49?

  • horns solo from "Sgt. Peppers Lonely hearts club band"

  • @igan12 the solo from "in my life" from rubber soul

  • in My Life

  • this is a remix of take 1

  • This is def the love version...you people dont know what you are talking about. Its take 1 fused with my others, hence, the Love version.

  • i creamed abit when i herd the slide guitar haha

  • great moment in music when it first comes in around 0:28

  • You're right it is take 1, but I specifically took it from the album "Love" so it is the love version.

  • ok thanks for all can u pass me the link? xD

  • well most of the songs on love were first takes

  • @flapes69 The love version only uses take one in the very beginning? Listen to the whole thing, it's the LOVE version.

  • Cool as ice, man.

  • Me encanta esta versión...

    <3

  • BEATLES FOREVER !!!!!

  • Awesome version. You cannot compare to the original version. They're both way too good.

  • @reiayamato If someone tried to compare them both, the universe would implode, then explode with music, and it would be awesome.

  • this version is sooo beautiful

  • this my favourite version of this song. the bulk of the song has a really natural build-up and the ending is such an effective climax... Love is an amazing album that I recomment to any Beatles fan or novice.

  • a voice that sends shivers down ones spine...

  • i believe this was the first time john played the song for the band. its absolutely beautiful

  • probably my favourite beatles song..I never get tired of it..The only one song in my life i could be able to listen to all my life(never stopping)

  • the descending organance(?) of this song and the ascending psychedelia is perfect

  • firt time hearing it <3333333

    lol i love it

  • While the original is obviously a classic........

I absolutely love this mix. I think it captures the steadily increasing psychadelic nature of the song a little better

  • If you listen closely it includes all three versions that went through in Anthology 2 Disc 1 as well as the actual song! It like transitions from the beginning :D.

  • It totally does!

  • Altough it looses some of it's psychedelia with "Piggies" and "Hello Goodbye" in the end.

  • ohh! demo?

  • Psychedelic man. I love this.

  • Hey kids! No need to get high with harmful drugs! Listen to songs like this but in Love Version and it'll be the same xDD

  • ehh beatles posibly greatist band o all time what kind of sickk demented fuck could kill JL i mean what has this world come to hippie movement died with manson murders

  • i actually like this version better than the orginal one.

maybe because i heard this first and got used to it.

    anyways, awesome. the beatles. awesome.

  • best version ever

  • Wow, this is the first time I hear this version, I loved it!

  • huh sweet

  • Great demo.

  • where is the acoustic guitar from???

  • its from John's demos

  • where can i find it though?

  • THe anthology set.

  • i listned to all of the anthology versions i could find on youtube and i dont hear the acoustic guitar, is it in the dvd set you mean?

  • no its on set two c.d. one i believe. theres like 3 or 4 takes on there i think its take twenty seven possibly. but its definetly on there. i own all three sets and ive heard it before on there.

  • its on the special released beatles album "love" where they remixed some songs or just took demo versions and turn the quality up.

  • yeah it was released for the love cirque du solie show where george and giles martin went through all the catalouge and demos and remixed them to give them diffrent sounds.

but his orginal question was where could he find the acoustic version in wich case the answer would be on set two c.d. one of the anthology.

  • I adore this version, the Martins deserve an Emmy just for this song.

Love the Penny Lane-bit, but the whole medley just sounds bloody genious plus uplifting.

Yet, I'm not completely sure about the order. I have:

Strawberry Fields - Sergeant Pepper - In my life - Penny Lane - Piggies - Hello Goodbye

    Did I miss something?

  • well, sergeant pepper is heard just in the buzzing in the middle of strawberry field and in my life...right?

anyway the remastered version is a masterpiece

  • psychedelic song!

    i love the beatles!

  • hello goodbye

  • can anyone tell me where the hey la hey hey lola outro comes from?

  • it's from the end of Hello Goodbye

  • whats the guitar chords for the beginning

  • G BM DM AM AM/G F G F C AM etc...

  • i love the piano solo from 'piggies', sounds great :)

Gotta love the Martin Family :)

and of course The Beatles :)

  • Holy crap, that was like the most amazing thing I've ever heard.

I reckon this version is better than the original, and that medley ending is awesome.

  • john lennon's voice sounds way different in this one then in the original, way different, but better.

  • different Pitch

  • i like much more this version 'cuz the transition of songs have piggies and hello goodbay

  • excelente

  • nice work.

  • Wow, dat was a beautiful mash up at the end.

  • This is my favorite song ever...this version in my opinion is the better one. The acoustic is much more relaxing and moving than the electric one, by far. These are the roots of my obsession with Strawberries (which I now capatalize). Beatles forever. I won't curse at anyone who disagrees, but I just want them to know what they are missing. Peace :)

  • the show in vegas is awsome!

  • I wish I could see it.

  • The evolution of the best song ever made!!!!

  • Hehe Little Piggies at the end makes it all cute.

    BEATLES FUCK YEAH.

  • haha that song is just funny

  • Best pop Song ever

  • because unpopular songs are better

  • The outfit Paul is wearing near the end looks the same one that Paul wore in the Yellow Submarine film.

  • This version is awesome... Thanks for posting.

  • u khow this song is changing my life :)

  • epix

  • The song that changed my life

  • soooo cooool, luv the beatles

  • this music video is fine!

  • sort of difficult now that 1/2 of the beatles are dead, but I see what you mean

  • thank you when i said it i didn't mean it in a bad way i just wanted to see if it could happen because of the new album

  • Don't worry I gotcha

  • johns mustash is awesome

  • oh wow this is cool how they mixed all the takes and basically the pitch is "normal" for the vocal part

  • They keep reinventing themselves. Love this version of the song... Specially the end.

  • I love the coda from Hello/Goodbye in this version!

  • Notice those first few guitar chords sound just like the song Across the Universe.

  • The timpani in the chorus really comes out here which is one of my favorite parts about this song but usually you can barely hear it unless you're wearing headphones. It sounds great. Thanks George Martin!

  • I love the Love album ending better than the original ending

  • i love how the piggies part just melds into the ending of the song

  • I like how this version has the "In My Life" piano solo at part of the end. 2:48 - 2:54

  • What I like about the Love version is that the ending sound happier than the original.

  • Hey does anyone know when they are putting real beatles music on itunes (not just sh***y covers)?

  • i heard hopefully within a couple months

  • Tell me abot it. Isn't it sad? Truly the greatest band in the history of the world, yet they have no spots on iTunes. Depressing, hmm? In England, I think they do. England even released a yellow iPod with EVERY SINGLE Beatles song pre-uploaded onto it when you buy it. How bombass is that? xD

  • I want that iPod. I would go to england and waste my entire life savings just for that ipod.

  • I love this version!

  • i have a teacher that looks like ringo XD

  • lol

  • One of my biggest favorite Beatles songs, and this video as well :)

  • Strawberry Field was the name of a Salvation Army Children's Home just around the corner from Lennon's boyhood home in the Woolton suburb of Liverpool. Lennon and his childhood friends Pete Shotton and Ivan Vaughan used to play in the trees behind the home.[6] One of Lennon's childhood treats was the garden party held each summer on the grounds of Strawberry Field. (ripped from Wikipedia)

  • true

  • Wow, Wikipedia was correct for a change. xD

  • Does Strawberry fields supposed to be something else other than a strawberry field?

  • it's getting hard to be someone but it all works out.... it doesn't matter much to me...

  • I love Ringo...♥♥♥

he looks so cute when he smile!!! ♥.♥

  • living is easy with eyes closed. amazing lyrics.

  • great!i was planning on donig the exact same thing but my computer would crash...oh well good job, anyways

  • it's not so bad. I'm a fan of the more played Verson, or even from that new movie. But i kinda like this one, because they did try something new. And if you always play a song the same way, it gets very boring, and you start to hate your own song.

  • what songs r u listening to mate?

  • best version of strawberry fields forever

  • I saw this in Vegas and it made me think back to when John died.

  • This version's better than the original one.

  • really? made me more curious i wanna hear all of it..gotta have one soon i guess...

  • Most songs on Love are utter garbage. But this one is good. I don't get the mentality of using Sgt. Pepper in this piece. It should've gotten a spot of it's own.

  • love is an incredible masterpiece.

  • What if a person's favorite song, "Blue Jay Way," was ruined by it? That's what happened to me. Besides, Cirque du Soliel is extremely wierd.

  • yes, it is, but it wasn't ruined by it, they just used it as a transition, it wasn't supposed to be an exact copy of it, and it's all about how you perceive it, you can either think they've made a mess of their work or you can think they've changed something amazing into something else amazing, i believe the second one personally, and yes i know it's your opinion, but you don't have to say that it sucks

  • Oh, so you call loading tape loops over a song that was already a masterpiece turning something amazing into something else amazing? It sounds like someone took a speaker channel, bred it with tape loops, and stuck it to George's best work. Albiet there are some Carnival of Light things in there, it wasn't worth the effort of taking something great and so called "making it better," when in actuality screwing it up.

  • ok, well some of us like it

  • then stop watching videos of it, stop shooting down the fans, and stop whining.

  • Some of us enjoy this version as well as the original one so don't post stupid shit. If you want to hate on something go and hate those target commercial or go hate yourself.

  • I like this version, remotely. I just hate most every thing else in LOVE. Particularly the transition pieces (they are WAY better than most of what is used), "Dear Prudence" being sacrificed into "Come Together," and "Across the Universe" being sacrificed into the garbage opening "Because." "Can You Take Me Back" is better in LOVE, though.

  • True.

  • great job!!!this "love version" of strawberry fields emphasizes john's appealing magnetic voice...thanx a lot!

  • This version is, in my opinion, the definitive version

  • The opening line is different in this version, im used to hearing-"let me take you down cuz im going to strawberry fields" as the opening line. Still like this version though.
