Nice video. I was serious considering getting one until I heard the comment about a 3 PC license limitation for the network version. That is very strange. Why would they limit a HDD drive to 3 PCs, and why would they even care. Thanks for making note of that in the video. I would have a bit miffed if I had bought it only to find out I could only connect 3 devices to the network HDD. I'll stick with standard sharing of an HDD attached to a PC. Not ideal, but no license restrictions.
i got confused when he was talking about the network stuff so it is basically a device that you attach to the bottom of your 3.5 and 2.5 hard drives. Are the network devices the same for both hard drives.Another thing that makes no sense is isn't Pogoplug a device you attach to a external hard drive to gain access of your hard drive over the internet why would i buy one of those seagate GoFlex devices if i need a Pogoplug when i only need the PogoPlug to do that
No... what I'm asking is how many platters there are in the 2 TB drive. Each drive has a spinning disc called a platter, it's the silvery thing that holds the magnetic signals. Most typical drives will have 2 or 3 platters, that 2 TB drive looks very bulky and I was curious as to how many platters might be inside, it looks like it could fit as many as 6.
@pnutty7 doesn't work smoothly with Time/machine. Plus reports errors while copy. Small things like 1 picture ok.. but a folder with more documents, it was always ERROR XYZ****! But nothing on website or Manual. So i tried formatting the drive but cannot format.. I got so frustrated... ripped off the plastic furiously and placed the HardDrive on a old G-Drive Enclosure with multi-interface. Got a new NAS from Synology. Job done!
Can you please show us a proper demonstration. How to input files into the seagate hardrive then, connect it to the desk and then plug it to the tv and play a video. Cause this really didnt help allot us
all new seagates = FAIL i have 2 1tb barracuda's 32mb 7200 rpm drives from them one failed within 2 morths of me getting it & i contacted seagate & they said they cant help but wait what dose it say on the box umm 5 year warranty dont buy a seagate idk why newegg even sells them your to good for that newegg, samsung & WD is the way to go now a days. vote up if your seagate has failed on you within 1 year of getting it.
@sk8erz6721 LMAO!!! good one.. though I have one that came out about 10 yrs ago and it is still running. I think the issue with the drives over time is the amount of data everyone is expecting to cram into a given amount of space has caused manufactures to have to fill that demand by increasing the capacity in that little amount of space leading to increased chances for error..
@any5dollarfootlong what's wrong w/ Seagate? I've had a 320gb 7,200 RPM SATAII HDD for a helluva long time, not a single issue. keeps up with my new Western Digital Caviar Black SATAIII 500GB 7,200 HDD, STILL. Not that you should expect dramatic results from 2 different 7,200 RPM drives :P
You have to purchase software licenses? Fuck that shit!

Can you take the hard drive out of the 1.5 TB FreeAgent GoFlex drive and put it in a laptop? I can't find any internal 1.5 TB 2.5 inch drives.
Please respond:)

If you want to attach more PCs, you can buy a small softwarepackage for $19,99, then you have the "pro features"

I choose Western Digital.
Yes they have defective drives like any other company but those usually are found rather quickly and are rare (much more rare than Seagate).
Per my personal use
4 Western Digital drives with 0 failures. x2 laptop x2 desktop
3 Seagate Drives (OK 2 seagate and one affiliate) with 2 failures (1 affiliate and 1 Seagate)
