Why else would they ever thank the fans unless to show their appreciation for what the fans have given them. You've created magic once again... I know you said in your description you weren't happy with having to use shots that were not all in front of a live audience, but I think it actually worked rather well. It creates the illusion of Bono thinking, for a moment while he's onstage, of how lucky he is that his life turned out the way it did.... At least, that's what it felt like to me. :)
