  • Aaaah this was absolutely divine. Hypnotizing.

  • Never heard the song before but the singer attracted me to it cuz yo he is Rufus and when I heard the first word I fell in love! So melodic and seducing that I barely knew the words, I just listened to his husky, deep voice and I felt like I was trapped in one timeless movie and wow! Yeah, there you go Rufus! Bringing me back to a time I didn't exist in!

  • I ain't a soft and saccharine wannabe

Still I pray to god this song will end happily

So I offer you a place to rest and forget yourself

    In my arms

    Tonight <3

  • damn.. so good. Haven't heard this song in a few years. But for some reason I feel close to it right now.

  • while i like the lyrics (well written!), Rufus slurs so much I can't make the words out. I have to read while listening :(

  • what an amazing, beautiful and incredibly moving song! So beautiful! I love it!!!!

  • One of my favourite ever songs, touches me deep.

  • I would love to forget myself in your arms Rufus!

[I'm becoming an obsessive fan oh great]

  • His best song and album. His sister sounds great with him hear, really wish i saw this in person.

  • the girl's voice is verry good!

  • It's his sister. It's in the family...

  • This has to be one of his best songs, it's just so extraordinary. Genius.

  • Rufus! Please please please play this song when you come to Portland, Maine. I will cry like a baby reminiscing the one I loved, we'd dance on the butterscotch rug swaying to this song...over and over again.

  • @groovette00

    wow that's sad.

    love this song.

  • I think Rufus' sadness is that everyone compares his voice to Thom Yorke and/or Jeff Buckley, getting into that argument instead of simply enjoying his voice for what a tremendous thing it is.

The start of this does sound like Glass Houses though.

  • i dont really understand why he should be compared to either really.......first ive heard it. all three are very distinctly diffwerent. maybe they compare to buckey because he did a very different version of hallelujia around the same time as jb i hardly think this"tragedy" would ever cross his mind it certainly didnt cross mine

  • beautiful song, beautiful man.

  • @rebelamz - Also, smoking sister!

  • Such a stunnig and deep song, amazing maturity for his age.. I wish the song got many covers and publicity, it has the beauty of a classic, timeless piece.

  • ur sooo on point... brilliant, brilliant song... How old is he??

  • he was in his early 20's, this was his first record "Rufus Wainwright". look it out! i love all his records

  • wow r u for real?! really great... thankx for the info... CHEERS!!!

  • i'M NOT QUITE SURE IF WE NEED THE GIRL... WELL, MAYBE... IS SHE HIS SISTER MARTHA? aCTUALLY, BEFORE THE SONG ENDED I CAME TO APPRECIATE HER..

  • yes, his younger sister martha

  • She has that effect.

  • Truly beautiful song - so emotive, dark and gut-wrenching. Love it!

  • lovely -he bears a small resemblance to river phoenix.

"still i pray to god this song will end happily" ---don't we all :)

  • It's funny that you said that,

  • FREAKIN AWSOME!
