Actually the GLT was Low pressure turbo in 97 only though if you actually loved volvos you would know that

@dstn1313 Actually, they are not. The GLT had a 2.5L 20V engine that produced 170hp. The low pressure turbo (193hp) was fitted in the 850 AWD, released in 97.

@gorran2009 probrably 2.3 ... 2.0's were made for italian market with a bit less power.

Original 850 T5 had 2.3 @ 166 KW , T5-R had 2.3 @ 184 KW.

I had 96 y 850 T5 myself (166 KW stock).

Original GLT came with 2.5 litre engine.

T5 was originally 2.3 with 0.3 bar turbo

T5-R was same engine, same turbo, different chip.

I haven't checked up for 100% sure, but from my knowledge even 850 R had the same 2.3 engine.

For italian market, they made "baby" versions of 850 T5's wich were 2.0 litre engine, 0.3 bar turbo, 155 KW.

@johnnyo032003 im sorry dude.. volvo's "T-Gul" made 240hp but and Volvo 850R "T-Röd/red" made 250hp with stronger internals from volvo.

@StopLookiing 850 R and 850 T5-r (t-gul) were mechanically identical other than the exhaust flange. Internals are EXACTLY the same on t5's and R's across the board until 98. Reason some R's had 250 hp was because of the manual transmission.
