I used to play this but my disk got scratched. I actually bought this. Now its free but i never get to seem to install it. Im so sad as mechwarrior was my faveorite pc game. And mechassualt is shit. I now play fps and rpg like battlefield and fallout. But i wish i could install this and get in my old Thor, swinging my hammer around

If the Mechwarrior revamp ever comes out..they should do something like they did with MechWarrior FireStorm. Actually sitting in the "Cockpit" of a Mech was awesome. An actual throttle and joystick. Numerous buttons along the sides of the dash and above the main screen, each doing something different...Ah..Fire Storm was fun..The ultimate experience for a Mechwarrior fan~ This video makes me wanna break out Mercs and start playing it again for old times sake..

To all who love BT: There is a release based on the Crysis engine called MechWarrior Living Legends. It is a free mod for Crysis and currently at beta status. YOu should look into it in case you do not want to wait until MW5 is released (which looks pretty far away atm). mechlivinglegends. net is the page where you will find all the infos you may need.

Also devs are wanted! Look into the forum and submit an application in case you want to be part of something great.

@ThePingasMightier i would be happy with any mecha stuff if it were actually GOOD, something for pc or 360, but there isnt any good games out right now that i know of. the new mechwarrior game looks sweet. but i would like something like mech warrior where you take real damage, ie: weapons destroyable, so you can cripple enemies. that was my favorite thing to do in mech warrior4 :) then let them run around without any weapons. lmao good times. wouldnt mind something like that with wingzero

@shadowkill87 A new front mission is coming out soon for the 360, I have no idea how it will compare with the old ones but it can't be that bad, right?

And I know, a turn based strategy with mech is nothing like mechwarrior but at this point I will take what I can get.

But gundam games havn't been all that good as of late, also they are just too jumpy for a mech simulator, I want somthing which will shake the ground not do a back flip.

@shadowkill87 Well, MWLL exists. The Armored Core series tends to do reasonably well - in Japan; they get panned over here because of their poor control schemes and unsatisfactory campaign modes.

FRAPS. While 37$ may seem expensive, I can still recommend it. Especially for the latest feature; being able to cache up to 30 seconds of footage before actually saving it, so you never miss a good moment.

wish they implemented melee.... sometimes when your in the face of another mech you wish your coulds just punch it to scrap....

It would make you more cautious to get to close to other mechs

@OneManMilitia69 They did add that with mekpak 4 but it is not very effective and there is no animation. Basically it's just a gun with no range that's not very accurate even when you're touching the enemy.

I stand corrected, so let me restate: All the mechs i liked had nothing but guns. XD

I always piloted the reverse jointed "cat mechs" like the Mad Cat and Daishi and they never had hands. It makes me biased against the humanoid mechs like Atlas so I tend to forget about them.

However I am taking a stand on the four legged thing. As far as I know the Mechwarrior series has never had a quadrupedal Mech. The only four leggers I remember seeing in a game are in the Armored Core series.

well Draconum sorry to disappoint you but there are actually a few 4 legged Mechs. If you would actually be a Battletech player (wich is the original game where mechwarrior game comes from) you would know that the Mechs named Goliath and Scorpion are actually 4 legged. There are few more mechs with 4 legs but dont remember their names tough (geez has been at least 10 years I didnt play any battletech) And there are actually alot of mechs with hand modules just the Clan Omni mechs dont use hands.

How to play again or first time users

Acquire mechwarrior mercenaries cd's, install, dl and install pr1 patch. Mektek has it. dl "pr1 to mp3.02a"patch,install, dl "mp3.o2b install. now your ready to play.There are also a crap load of maps you can add try NBT or MechwarriorLeagues. If you have problems Mektek supports all patches they make.

Mekpak4 is cooming soon come join the fun.

That is a Warhawk / Masakari. You'll have to buy the MS Clan Mechpak, though. Good luck finding it for a reasonable price - as far as I know it's nigh impossible nowadays.

Mektek made some 'Mechpacks that contain tons more mechs, including the 2 that you mentioned. (You'll love the Marauder MKII) The newest version is MP3.02b, and I highly recommend you also patch the HDP (Hi Definition Patch) after installing the Mechpacks.

"Rebel Riot" is the kind of song that I've always imagined the Battletech universe being set to, a good chunk of the time. Especially pre-clan times, when mercenaries are involved.

This is possibly the closest thing to an AMV I can appreciate.
