lets be honest...the reason there are many people saying god dose not exist is because you live a very painful life with out hope....with out love..with out peace of mind........i live a very ruff life i seen people die ...i seen mothers cry because there love one suicide...i seen the sadness of the world..so much pain.....i balive in god because ...i felt his love ...he help me in times i suffered......you can say this all not true...jorge harrasen knew that...the guy from.corn...and Ann rice
All god is is the berserk human imagination at play. God is nothing more than his angry animators. Like other animated characters, without the talents of the people concerned to use their skills to make them seem real, god is nothing. The road from the past to the future is littered with the corpses of dead gods. They all lie there because their animators have died off, and become nothing more than anthropological curiousities.
look any you cant prove he does exist so were does that leave us? if god gave us free will and if he is all knowing as they say then he knew gay people would exist he knew atheists would exist he knew muslims would exist if he had such a problem with these people why do they exist? if god loves alL WHY CANT HIS DISCIPLES? STOP FIGHTING OVER RELIGION LOVE AND PEACE SHOULD WIN OUT OVER HATE AND INTOLERANCE STOP ARGUING OVER PROVING GOD AND JUST GO WITH THE FLOW IT WILL ALL WORK OUT.
God is a creation of humans that wanted power to control everybody " if you kill someone god will punish you by sending you to hell ! " people believed them !! but sometimes people did bad things and there never happened bad things to them, "why did i believe in that ?"
Now we have laws " if you kill someone we will punish you by sending you in jail " yea ok i'll get 20 years and i'll get out after 15 because "im a good person"
#1 How could god create "humans". We all know that we came from cavemen. #2 how to prove that he exists. #3 why didn't he help people in tahiti or japan ? ( maybe because he doesn't exist, maybe because the people that died deserved it, or... he just don't give a fuck about us. OR HE DOESN'T EXIST. if someone can answer this, do it. but you know you can't soooo... He doesn't exist :)
Ps: the "maybe because the people that died deserved it," i don't think they deserved it !
@whatthefudge2009 It's actually one of the oscillations for the Big Bang ;o
I have this law: If something exists, there's a cycle for it =p
So, in like 10-20 billion years, the universe will begin to collapse and 54 billion years from now, it'll be a singularity that will cause another Big Bang :D
This doesn't work with everything. In all intents and purposes, you cannot prove mathematics exists beyond itself (since it's metaphysical). Infinity cannot be proven. Belief in something that cannot be proven is not such a bad thing. Agnosticism would claim that we can never know if infinity exists, and therefore, we cannot assume it exists in the meantime (what most mathematical fields do)
Oh please, we are not Mormons. This video is ignorant. Christians don't believe that God is some magic man in the sky. If you think that God is some magic man in the sky, then yes, that is a man-made story. Nor is hell some place of fire with demons and pitchforks. I agree you can't prove to someone God does or does not exist. One has to experience God in order to believe in God. This is why I am against proselytizing to atheists. It is like trying to explain colors to a blind person.
I had a friend who proved tried to prove the existence of God by saying that evolution doesn't make sense because "it would be impossible for those scientists to find fish fossils on a mountain because fish can't just walk up a mountain, so God must have put them there."
@TheBlueRainWolf say to your friend he should use his brain ( if god didn't put it on a mountain ) remember the planet earth was covered by water... so when that fish died and fell down to the bottom of the sea ( the mountain in this case ) and the water came down... the fish stayed on that moutain :) amazing !! you can trie it in your toilet just take a shit and press the button and WOW it disapeared ! is that god who made that ?
This is one of the most stunningly retarded lines i have ever heard. There are actually people so braindead that they stand behind such an argument and believe it is valid.
Your right I can't prove he does not exist but you can't prove he does exist and you want me to take you word of a human for it that he does. There is no solid evidence of that. I believe more in aliens then I do about a god
@hectorlopez1231 Also, consider that one of the concepts of Christianity is that we need God's guidance because we're so stupid. Well, if humans are so stupid, how can we trust the people who wrote the bible? Or any holy book? How do we know that they weren't equally as stupid? The bible is a book, written and printed and sold by man. And it has been rewritten over and over again. How do we know that someone didn't mess up in rewriting it?
Ok I just got got back from a youth convention for my church, and there's a thing about going to things like that, you can accualy feel god with you. If you give church or anything that involves the almighty creater, God, then you can start feeling him with you.
@Bryant2647 How do you know it's Gods precence you are feeling? And not just the psycological effect of belonging to a group of people, performing some kind of collective meditation. The reason you belive it's God is because you have been teached to believe so. If you where for example a buddhist, the exact same feelings would make you think Buddha is present, or something, I don't know exactly.
I have heard religious people ask that. But it's not the nonbelievers responsibility to disprove Gods existence. It's the believers responsibility to prove it. Every one of us are free to believe what we want to believe of course. But when it comes to those who claim they know, and try to convince others, Ie. priests, pastors, missionaries and all kind of preachers in general, I would say they have a responsibility to prove their theories.
@HGSolberg It's more like they present the information, and you have to make up your own mind. If you think about it, what is the point of someone giving you every little detail about something you don't believe in, destroying theories against their claims, and leaving you with the cold hard facts. That does not allow you to think for yourself in any way... almost like forcing you to believe in what they believe, and not letting you make up your own mind... if that makes sense.
@blueday81 Nope, that is just called reality. In reality we go to school, and learn things. It is not brainwashing, it is just striving to not have a country full of morons.
@HGSolberg That's all well and good except we don't have any whacky theories. If someone said aliens were living in their basement and showed you a book that the aliens supposedly wrote, you wouldn't believe them until they have actual proof. It would not be on you to disprove the aliens existence. Really, this concept is not very hard if you think about it with your head outside of your anus.
@speed0spank I agree. But, it seams to me that a lot of people are willing to believe almost anything, without asking for a single prove of what they are told. This seams to be the way religious believes work. That's why we (the rest of us), should demand that theories presented to a group of people as the absolute truth, should be accompanied by thrustwothy scientific documentation.
God hasn't shown himself to people simply because he is merciful to them . had he shown himself , only one sin would require punishement . Adam disobeyed only once .
If you have never seen something, smelled, been touched, talked to or helped in anyway shape or form by this something then why would you need to convince yourself that it actually exists. My point is if you do not know that something exists then you don't make yourself believe in its existence until there is actual evidence that it in fact does exist.
I disagree in some points. The real problem is, that "god" is not properly defined. Depending on the definition of "god", you can come to very different conclusions.
For example you can disprove a god which interacts in a testable way with our reality. You can (probably) not disprove a god, which is hidden and does nothing. If you define god as "the explanation for reality - whatever it is", "god" probably exists.
Oh, and btw: "Existance" isnt properly defined either for that purpose.
religion is stupid all hail science. and people arguing with religious people just stop because they have faith and the definition for faith is believing in something not proved fact. the truth is we should all be agnostic because while religion is false and man made, intelligent design is possible(not probable) because we don't know the origin of the universe. if something supernatural did spark the universe into creation it wouldn't counteract with something as inferior as humans.
@landongggthe intelligent design is not possible, At all. you are just as bad as any religious person. Saying "the truth is we should all be agnostic"
I don't get why people say you cant disprove a negative. That's silly. Of course you can. If you can show that something is a self contradiction than you can prove it doesn't exist. You can prove that there are no married bachelors. This argument is used alot on youtube but not by any sophisticated atheist.
@Orcdudez SERIOUSLY. Do you know how IGNORANT you sound when you talk about "gods" like they're all the same. The God of Jesus Christ is the only one that stands out. what abou HIM. Let's talk about HIM. All the other past "gods" (you would know if you actually cared to fucking STUDY what you think you fucking know) have IDENTICLE properties and qualities to demons of the Bible AKA fallen angels. NOW PUT SOME DOTS TOGETHER BEFORE I COME THROUGH THAT SCREEN AND KICK YOUR ASS. That's all.
@SuperSam424 Firstly, if you're Christian... then you're going for hell because that's not the message Jesus taught. Obviously you've never studied religion, even your own. And second... how biased do you sound? You're the ignorant one. You act like you're talking facts when your religion is based on faith. Lastly, I don't think you even know what indoctrinated means. People like you are the reason religion will kill the human species... holy shit man... (no pun intended)
@landonggg Firstly, that's clearly not you're issue you dumb human being. Secondly, I've studied my religion, your religion and everything in between. You clearly just say words without thinking. Secondly, people have good REASON (aka facts) for having faith. Thirdly, YOU are the one who is religiously indoctrinated to believe those who know about the occult/religion and RI. People like you are the reason religion will kill the human species.
@Orcdudez I don't believe in a specific god but I think all the "gods" are the same. I mean look at the common depiction of god and compare him to zeus they are practically identical
5 minutes in hell will make a believer out of you and you dont need to believe in it to go there. if you're lookkng for sense... hell wont make any sense when you get there... lol
We will never be able to prove whether or not god exists. We can't prove that he doesn't (it would require proving a negative). There's also no evidence for him (so we can't prove that he does). I hope religion stops controlling the world one day.
God has given me the characters in my dreams, all religions gathered around in a circle, and it was at the "end of the world" Muslims prayed to their God, they cried, as no angel came down and picked them up, the Jews came up to heaven; and all Christians, but not the other religions. And Earth's sky was red and dead, with then so it occurred to stars down to Earth, they were harmless and beautiful, then I got up to heaven, it's all true, belive me!
Thank You My Friend! I've been trying to tell that to my ignorant theist friends and ignorant theist trolls like FrogFantom who has closed his account (Thank God!) that we cannot prove he does not Exist, But I will tell you this; If their is no God, there would be no Atheists. Also, I would advise you to slow down on the supernatural beings like Santa Claus, Unicorns, and the Easter Bunny etc. Because Atheist Trolls tend to believe in them than God.
From recent calculations, I find the odds of God existing to be one in 10^(14 octillion). Although you can't disporve God, you can prove it's not likely at all he is real.
And I go to school in a small town. There are two main religions, both denominations of christianity, Lutheran and Catholic. When someone asks me if I'm Lutheran or Catholic and I say neither, they get confused about how atheism works.
@fightingatheist ur argument is weak...cause unicorns have nothing to do with creation ...it's like comparing urself with a donkey..or a monkey since he's ur grand grand pa:)
@LieExtinguisher - Yes they do. According to MY religion, unicorns came from the planet Krylon 13 and spread their farts in the form of rainbows across the seas to create cheetah-like plants called Xylonoks. The Xylonoks then built the great temple of the Omnihorn (a structure that can be seen in modern-day southern Chile from space with special goggles). This PROVES my religion is true and makes you an infidel if you don't have faith. Boom! PROOF!
All these "god" and angel tho Gus are just actient aliens that visited before and said, "We are gods, worship us, build us things, give us stuff! Or you will die!" All the humans worshiped them and wrote about it but had the wrong idea of what they where.
look my friend don't talk and you don't have any basic knowledge about these religions, do you really believe that those people belief because they just raised to ? well yeah maybe some but not all .... and there is a CLEAR PROVES that god exists that have shocked the scientists, if you searched more in the holy books you will find the prove to that , and if you are not in the searching mode you may google it ....peace :)
@ShadyCuPo He was a Christian before becoming an Atheist. So I believe that he does know what he is talking about. If you want to tell people that God exists and force Jesus down our throats, don't provide flat statements that just blatantly say that God exists. There is no definitive proof. None. The holy books of today's world were written by man. "Did God create man, or did Man create God?"
@ShadyCuPo Your type seems to spout about this proof(not proves) that exists and supposedly "shocks scientists," yet you never provide it. Your proof is much like your God. Non existent.
you can't prove unicorns, hobbits, aliens, or ghost exist and you cant proof Evolution and The Big bang exist ether. so y believe in God? because god is not a fairy tale Sure there are Somethings in the Bible that are really unlikely. but the Bible was made by Man not God. Most Atheist believe in the Big Bang but what caused the big bang? something super natural did it. and that thing is called God. Wether he listens to prayers or not i dont know but i dont see any reason y there wouldn't be God
DNA, genetics, phylogeny, fossils, live experiments.
The Big Bang was probably caused by a quantum fluctuation. The total energy in the universe is equal to zero, so whatever created it had to be very weak. Are you calling your God this weak force? If so, it isn't very worthy of worship or notice (that could have happened by itself anyways)
It is impossible to prove that something doesn't exist. For all you know, the world could be populated with flying invisible hippos that shoot lasers out of their asses. You can't prove that wrong, can you? It is the responsibility of the party claiming something's existence to provide evidence, and as of yet, there is none to suggest that God, or any supernatural being for that matter, exists. Common sense tells us that if there is no proof of something's existence, you must assume it fake.
@KillMrFist That's a FATPU. "First Assumption That Pops Up". "Religion" is created by fallen angels. A relationship with the true Lord God is not a "religion". A "religion" is something like Islam. Rules you must follow. Things you must sacrifice. If you cannot understand the difference between God and "religion" then you have been religiously indoctrinated into believing everyone who believes in God is religiously indoctrinated when in fact, there is no indoctrination with Christ.
Isn't Math itself an ideal or belief process. Even though everyone knows Math, you can't prove that Math exists. So my question parallels with your point of rational. Apply to your logic Mathmatics: Does it make any sense?
@OpenSacrifice Yes, it does make sense. In fact, math is based on logic. Math is nothing more than a series of observable natural patterns based on numerical values. The key here is "observable." Everybody can see that four times four is sixteen. Hence, math and religion are two completely different things.
@countolaf32 If I use a triangle as the number two then it is a two and you couldn't prove me wrong. Religion is as observable as Math is. So hence they are the same thing.
@OpenSacrifice Religion is observable, I see churches everywhere. That's not the issue though. God is not observable in any way whatsoever. You chose to believe in God, but there is not any logical basis for this belief. Your triangle analogy doesn't make any sense. I am also not sure how you drew the conclusion that math and religion would be the same thing if they were both observable.
GOD SAYS HE HAS A SON.Jesus said he's God's Son-Matthew 3:17,Mark 9:7,Psalms 2:7,Luke 9:35,Prov.8:22.DEMONS,expelled said he's Son of God-Luke 4:41.Matt.8:29, Mark3:11.Others said he's Son-John1:14,49,3:17,5:18,36,6:46,10:36,Mark15:39,Matthew 26:63,27:40. Hebrews10:29,4:14.An angel said he's Son-Luke1:35.Jehovah God is Jesus' God-John15:1,16:3,30,20:17, Matt.26:26,36-44,64,Mark15:34,Ephesians1:17.Son=Mediator-1Timothy 2:5,Heb.1:3,4,8:6,9:15,12:24, Romans1:4,8,9,Acts7:55,56.
The Big Bang Therory (which you're most likely referring to) does not say anything about matter and energy being eternal. It says that because the universe does expand (a measurable fact) it must have been smaller earlier on. That means that the universe once was a single point (a singularity). The destabilization and expansion of that early universe is what's called the Big Bang. That's the big bang in a nutshell.
Also, matter is only materialized energy, so again, not eternal.
"That we evolved from monkeys"
Again, there is no claim for this. What the theory of evolution says is that all species has a common ancestor. Chimpanzees and humans are like cousins in a sense. We have a recent common ancestor. Humans and birds also has a common ancestor, however, the branching of the subgroups in which humans and fish resides is much older.
@someonep93 : The fossil record proves a world wide flood, how else are you going to get fossils, millions of animals today die but very few fossils are left behind.
DNA & proteins are similar between species only points to intelligent design, God could have used commonality between species, if it works carry on using it.
I'll go through your points and try to clarify a few things for you, using only very basic and widely-known information. Firstly, the fossil record does not prove a world wide flood. The reason millions of animals die today without leaving fossils is because fossils take a rediculously long time to form. You can't bury your dog in the garden, dig him up the next day, and find dog fossils. Besides, if the great flood created all of this fossils, then where are the fossil humans?
@HealthyCabbie Secondly, DNA and proteins are similar between species because all life is carbon based, and came from the same amino acids, etc. Okay, I wasnt around a billion years ago, so you may be right, however I can see no reason not to believe that similarities between DNA and protein points to anything other than mutational divergence from the same basic acids and structures.
@HealthyCabbie Thirdly and finally, I agree natural selection causes microscopic changes. However, primitive life appeared hundreds of millions of years ago. Throughout that process, there were trillions of organisms on the planet at any one time. I agree that mutations working constructively together to create macroscopic changes is improbably, but given almost a billion years, and trillions of attempts, the improbable can easily happen.
@Ardensfax "but given almost a billion years, and trillions of attempts, the improbable can easily happen"
It's more like three billion years, or to make things a bit more graspable: more than 40 million human lifetimes.
Considering that most other organisms have significantly lower lifespans, the number of generations passed is incredibly big. That, combined with the pressure for organisms to adapt to their environment, will make all the small variations create huge variances over time.
@someonep93 I must confess, the billion number was plucked from the top of my head. Three billion years is good though, I mean that gives you three times the effective probability of something improbable happening. (Three billion actually seems a tad on the big side, seeing as the Earth's only 4.56 billion, I'd have thought it'd take a bit longer to settle down and become habitable but I don't actually know!) But thanks, you're exactly right. Lots of cumulative micro-changes = Macroevolution,
@someonep93 Actually, this is one of the reasons I wish we could run proper quantum computers. I wish we had some way of simulating trillions of individual instances of microbial life, program in the probabilities of a mutation occuring, the probabilities of said mutation being beneficial or destructive, etc etc, and just let it propogate for 3 billion years (sped up significantly, obviously). I'd love to see comes out at the end, I bet there'd be some pretty fascinating things cropping up.
@Ardensfax Such big scale experiments will not be feasible in quite a time (sadly). The computational power needed is huge! There has been some small scale attempts of demonstrating the power of natural selection by programming (e.g. Dawkins).
As for my number of 3 billion years i referred to the oldest bacterial fossils ever recorded (about 3.45 billion years ago).
@Ardensfax "DNA and proteins are similar between species because all life is carbon based, and came from the same amino acids..."
Just a quick note:
All DNA and proteins consist of the same basic molecules, in which you're correct:
DNA - 4 nucleobases that makes up the gen. code, 2 structural molecules
Proteins - twenty-some AA
However, that isn't what makes DNA and proteins similar between species. The functions of DNA and proteins depends on the ordering of nucleobases and AA, respectively.
If the theory of evolution is correct, we would see a similarity in DNA (and therefore also in proteins, as DNA is the instructions for protein making) between species. Great similarity if closely related, less similarity if not closely related.
And that is exactly what we see when investigating the matter:
Human - Chimp: very similar DNA
Human - Gorilla: a bit less similar DNA
Human - Rat: even less similarity (though still similar)
@FightingAtheist "Does it make sense that a man died and came back to life" HAHAHAHA your basically asking me to apply the natural worlds limitations to a supernatural deity, Talk about not making sense. Thats like asking "Does it make sense that God can create life?",It shows your an atheist for the dumbest reasons.Well considering that these "desert nomads" knew shit no one else in the universe knew like the universe is expanding and there are mountains & valleys deep in the ocean YES it does.
@FightingAtheist Dude you say in your video that you cant prove God doesn't exist yet when i type in your name on youtube your motto or whatever says "God does not Exist ". So if your going to claim that God doesn't exist then claim you cant prove it then go on to ask what makes sense and what doesn't you just ask does it make sense that you cant prove what you want others to believe, You are a hypocrite MR.
does it make since to think that a advanced being such as a human would just show up or grow out of some primordial ooze its like saying a completely blank computer with nothing on it except a desktop would some how create a program like photoshop all on its own
@mrcallofdutyman1 really? That is your argument? That is basically saying poor people are better than God. But we do help the homeless and ones in need. Come up with a better attack next time.
i dont get why people still argue about the existence of a deity - deities are supposed to exist outside of our universe/dimension aren't they? so obviously human logic wouldnt apply in any case.
@ThinkerNinja religious people use it to say things like homosexuality is bad and we must ban stemcell research even though it has nothign to do with killing embryos.
they are using beliefs in the supernatural to interfere with the natural world.
FightingAtheist, your video and point are moot, and here is why. When someone brings a claim he shoulders burden of proof, not those who challenge that claim. The faithful bring the claim that religion is real and teach others that it is real. No one is born believing in religion, or anything else. Atheists challenge the implanted belief in god. The burden of proof lies with the theists so there is no point in trying to prove our claim as we do not shoulder the burden of proof.
@kace124 it is true we atheists cannot prove that "god" doesnt exist. HOWEVER, as the people making the claim that he DOES exist, you have to provide evidence, we do not have to debunk your claim.
for instance, 2+2=2000! DISPROVE THAT! see, you can disprove it.... because I have provided (bad) evidence to support my claim. however religion provides no proof, and cannot be disproven, and because it has not proof, SHOULD BE CONSIDERED THE BULLSHIT IT IS.
I'd leave them to their beliefs if they had the common sense and courtesy to keep them inside their religion. They only get asked to prove it when they don't.
The thing with Logic and reasoning and common sense is that as my christian friend says "YOu cant apply the logic of man to god" lol Im like "Are you fucking kidding me?? thats your excuse??"
"Happy those who seize your children and smash them against a rock." Psalms 137:9
"When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property." Exodus 21:20-21
"He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him takes care to chastise him" Proverbs 13:24
Nice introduction. However I´d like to add some considerations. Indeed it is impossible to refute something supernatural, since it isn´t based on the regular empirical evidence you can falsify. Yet looking at the theory you can´t falsify with logical reasoning alone will not help. Reconstructing the theory without implausible aspects, how we came to existence without the supernatural, will offer alternatives. The theory is not refuted, but more plausible alternatives will develop understanding.
@everywallwillfall The reason there is an Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Bible is because the conflict is older than the Bible. Israelites were in a direct conflict with Canaanites which is the word the Bible uses to refer to Palestinians.
In Deuteronomy 7:1-2 and 20:10-17 God himself commands Israelites to massacre several races including Canaanites. Israel is just following Deuteronomy 20:17.
"I also gave them over to statutes that were not good and laws they could not live by; I let them become defiled through their gifts—the sacrifice of every firstborn—that I might fill them with horror so they would know that I am the LORD." Ezekiel 20:25-26
God is by definition almighty. Which means that he's omnipotent and there's no such creature that is equal to or greater than him. If there's no such creature, then God cannot create such creatures. However God is omnipotent. An omnipotent being who cannot create such creatures is self-contradictory. That which is self-contradictory doesn't exist.
@drrobertoboogie97 Nice try. God cannot create a a being that exceeds his power ( if he could, that being would become God) because He possess maximal powers. An inability to exceed a maximum isn't an actual limitation, its just a meaningless linguistic construction that has no applicability to logical thought. An ability to exceed a maximum is a self contradiction, and following your own logic, it cannot exist as an ability that God needs to have to be logically coherent.
@drrobertoboogie97 Not quite. You're trying to integrate nonsense and oxymoron into logic, which demands consistency and coherence. Omni means all. If you have all of something, you cannot get more of it, you have the maximum amount. Like you said, self contradictory things don’t exist. The ability to exceed a maximum is self-contradictory, and illogical, and isn't something he needs to be able to do for his omnipotence to be logically coherent.
@DrOman5596 Is maximum a limit? Something that is limited is not omnipotent. An omnipotent being is limitless. If God can't exceed a limit, he's not omnipotent. A god who's not omnipotent is self-contradictory.
@drrobertoboogie97 Do you even know what omnipotent means? Let me break it down for you. Omni means all, potent, means powerful. If you have all of something, you cannot get more of it, thats why God has the maximum amount of power. If you have all power, you don't have unlimited power, you posses the maximum amount of power. Even if your strawman of omnipotence meaning limitless was true, it would mean that he could overcome your silly word games and you'd be raising a moot point.
@drrobertoboogie97 It's a strawman, in that it isn't a definition that serious religious philosophers or theologians (Aquinas, Lewis, Plantinga etc) defend. Even if it were the theologically correct definition, it would mean that nothing could impose a limit on God, including logic, and he would be able to create a higher being while still being logically consistent. If it is established that something has limitless power, "can't" becomes meaningless, because can't would imply a limitation.
@everywallwillfall What proof do you have that the god you worship does exist? You don't have the knowledge of all the millions of gods that humanity have made up over their lifetime and the description of such from others. These things are not proof that the god you worship does exist.
@everywallwillfall You are wrong. You can't take it on faith that there is a god. The burden of proof is on the positive claim (i.e. God exists) and faith is by definition belief without proof.
@everywallwillfall Well it has been the 28th, are you raptured yet? You remember the deal, don't you? If you don't get raptured, you're going to be an atheist.
The existence of “God” can't be proven or disproven. Since even science tells us that most of the universe is not perceivable to us (dark matter/energy) both religion and atheism must be viewed as dogmatic belief systems that are, at this point, intangible. To rule anything out is presumptuous. The universe was created by forces that we little understand. What we decide to call them matters less then how we choose to respond to the "miracle" of creation.
@Blackboilingrobotoil Yes it can. You can disprove God by proving it is self-contradictory. Just watch.
God is by definition almighty. Which means that there is no being that is equal to or greater than him. Thus he cannot create such a being. We know that God is equal to himself. So he cannot create himself. However, as I said, he's by definition almighty, an almighty being who cannot create himself is self-contradictory. That which is self-contradictory is also nonexistent.
@Blackboilingrobotoil By the way dark matter and energy can be considered nonexistent since the expansion of the universe can be explained using the second law of thermodynamics without the need of hypothetical things like dark matter or energy, and if we consider Occam's razor, unless proven otherwise, dark matter and energy can be considered nonexistent.
@everywallwillfall I'm not sure how that is logical. An atheist is someone who believes there is no God, or someone who lacks a belief in God (as opposed to deists, agnostics, and theists). Do you think that if he exists, God doesn't believe in himself, is unaware of, or lacks a belief His own existence?
Matthew 24:34: Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
Well Jesus's generation did pass. What does God himself say about this?
If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. Deut. 18:22
@everywallwillfall I have known God for 13 years and yet I'm an atheist. What's your point?
The Bible says that Jesus's generation will not pass away until the rapture happens. Well they did. So Jesus is wrong.
If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. Deuteronomy 18:22
@everywallwillfall Yes. That's why even I have more in common with your god than you. If atheists are damned to hell, wouldn't God be the first one who should wind up in hell? But according to the Bible, God is in heaven.
"And there will come a time when God seeks out his fellow heathens. Glory awaits them in the highest of Kingdoms." -Leroy 10:8
@everywallwillfall You say that the rapture will happen tomorrow. If so, here's the deal. If no one gets raptured tomorrow, you will become an atheist. If someone does get raptured tomorrow, I will repent- Oh right, I can't repent once he shows himself and will be damned to hell forever! How loving and forgiving your god is!

@hectorlopez1231 Also, consider that one of the concepts of Christianity is that we need God's guidance because we're so stupid. The bible is a book, written and printed and sold by man. And it has been rewritten over and over again. How do we know that someone didn't mess up in rewriting it?

@Bryant2647 How do you know it's Gods precence you are feeling? And not just the psycological effect of belonging to a group of people, performing some kind of collective meditation. The reason you belive it's God is because you have been teached to believe so. If you where for example a buddhist, the exact same feelings would make you think Buddha is present, or something, I don't know exactly.
Is there any way you can prove it's God you feel?
HGSolberg 1 month ago
I have heard religious people ask that. But it's not the nonbelievers responsibility to disprove Gods existence. It's the believers responsibility to prove it. Every one of us are free to believe what we want to believe of course. But when it comes to those who claim they know, and try to convince others, Ie. priests, pastors, missionaries and all kind of preachers in general, I would say they have a responsibility to prove their theories.
HGSolberg 2 months ago
@HGSolberg It's more like they present the information, and you have to make up your own mind. If you think about it, what is the point of someone giving you every little detail about something you don't believe in, destroying theories against their claims, and leaving you with the cold hard facts. That does not allow you to think for yourself in any way... almost like forcing you to believe in what they believe, and not letting you make up your own mind... if that makes sense.

@blueday81 Nope, that is just called reality. In reality we go to school, and learn things. It is not brainwashing, it is just striving to not have a country full of morons.
speed0spank 1 month ago
@HGSolberg That's all well and good except we don't have any whacky theories. If someone said aliens were living in their basement and showed you a book that the aliens supposedly wrote, you wouldn't believe them until they have actual proof. It would not be on you to disprove the aliens existence. Really, this concept is not very hard if you think about it with your head outside of your anus.
speed0spank 1 month ago
@speed0spank I agree. But, it seams to me that a lot of people are willing to believe almost anything, without asking for a single prove of what they are told. This seams to be the way religious believes work. That's why we (the rest of us), should demand that theories presented to a group of people as the absolute truth, should be accompanied by thrustwothy scientific documentation.

If you have never seen something, smelled, been touched, talked to or helped in anyway shape or form by this something then why would you need to convince yourself that it actually exists. My point is if you do not know that something exists then you don't make yourself believe in its existence until there is actual evidence that it in fact does exist.
Strictlypointless 2 months ago
I disagree in some points. The real problem is, that "god" is not properly defined. Depending on the definition of "god", you can come to very different conclusions.
For example you can disprove a god which interacts in a testable way with our reality. You can (probably) not disprove a god, which is hidden and does nothing. If you define god as "the explanation for reality - whatever it is", "god" probably exists.
Oh, and btw: "Existance" isnt properly defined either for that purpose.

Evolution can be proven.

Isn't Math itself an ideal or belief process. Even though everyone knows Math, you can't prove that Math exists. So my question parallels with your point of rational. Apply to your logic Mathmatics: Does it make any sense?
OpenSacrifice 7 months ago
@OpenSacrifice Yes, it does make sense. In fact, math is based on logic. Math is nothing more than a series of observable natural patterns based on numerical values. The key here is "observable." Everybody can see that four times four is sixteen. Hence, math and religion are two completely different things.
countolaf32 6 months ago
@countolaf32 If I use a triangle as the number two then it is a two and you couldn't prove me wrong. Religion is as observable as Math is. So hence they are the same thing.
OpenSacrifice 5 months ago
@OpenSacrifice Religion is observable, I see churches everywhere. That's not the issue though. God is not observable in any way whatsoever. You chose to believe in God, but there is not any logical basis for this belief. Your triangle analogy doesn't make any sense. I am also not sure how you drew the conclusion that math and religion would be the same thing if they were both observable.

THE FOOL IN HIS HEART SAYS THERE IS NO GOD, THINK ABOUT IT, DO NOT LISTEN TO MANS OPINIONS.
HealthyCabbie 7 months ago
@HealthyCabbie Are you serious?
"That matter and energy is eternal"
The Big Bang Therory (which you're most likely referring to) does not say anything about matter and energy being eternal. It says that because the universe does expand (a measurable fact) it must have been smaller earlier on. That means that the universe once was a single point (a singularity). The destabilization and expansion of that early universe is what's called the Big Bang. That's the big bang in a nutshell.
(cont.)
someonep93 7 months ago
@someonep93 (cont'd)
(cont.)
someonep93 7 months ago
@someonep93 (cont'd)
There is massive evidence for evolution, e.g.:
Fossil records (intermediate organisms),
DNA (similarity between species, chimps and humans has 99% identical DNA by the way),
Proteins (closely related species has a very similar set of proteins),
Observable natural selection (e.g. the Galapagos finches, antibiotic-resistance in bacteria)
So, when you try to dismiss anything you ought to study it enough to know what you're dismissing. Don't make arguments from ignorance.
someonep93 7 months ago
@someonep93 : The fossil record proves a world wide flood, how else are you going to get fossils, millions of animals today die but very few fossils are left behind.
DNA & proteins are similar between species only points to intelligent design, God could have used commonality between species, if it works carry on using it.
Natural selection is micro evolution, not macro.
HealthyCabbie 7 months ago
@HealthyCabbie
Ardensfax 7 months ago
@HealthyCabbie Secondly, DNA and proteins are similar between species because all life is carbon based, and came from the same amino acids, etc. Okay, I wasnt around a billion years ago, so you may be right, however I can see no reason not to believe that similarities between DNA and protein points to anything other than mutational divergence from the same basic acids and structures.
Ardensfax 7 months ago
@HealthyCabbie Thirdly and finally, I agree natural selection causes microscopic changes. However, primitive life appeared hundreds of millions of years ago. Throughout that process, there were trillions of organisms on the planet at any one time. I agree that mutations working constructively together to create macroscopic changes is improbably, but given almost a billion years, and trillions of attempts, the improbable can easily happen.
Ardensfax 7 months ago
@Ardensfax "but given almost a billion years, and trillions of attempts, the improbable can easily happen"
It's more like three billion years, or to make things a bit more graspable: more than 40 million human lifetimes.
Considering that most other organisms have significantly lower lifespans, the number of generations passed is incredibly big. That, combined with the pressure for organisms to adapt to their environment, will make all the small variations create huge variances over time.
someonep93 7 months ago
@someonep93 I must confess, the billion number was plucked from the top of my head. Three billion years is good though, I mean that gives you three times the effective probability of something improbable happening. (Three billion actually seems a tad on the big side, seeing as the Earth's only 4.56 billion, I'd have thought it'd take a bit longer to settle down and become habitable but I don't actually know!) But thanks, you're exactly right. Lots of cumulative micro-changes = Macroevolution,
Ardensfax 7 months ago
@someonep93 Actually, this is one of the reasons I wish we could run proper quantum computers. I wish we had some way of simulating trillions of individual instances of microbial life, program in the probabilities of a mutation occuring, the probabilities of said mutation being beneficial or destructive, etc etc, and just let it propogate for 3 billion years (sped up significantly, obviously). I'd love to see comes out at the end, I bet there'd be some pretty fascinating things cropping up.
Ardensfax 7 months ago
@Ardensfax Such big scale experiments will not be feasible in quite a time (sadly). The computational power needed is huge! There has been some small scale attempts of demonstrating the power of natural selection by programming (e.g. Dawkins).
As for my number of 3 billion years i referred to the oldest bacterial fossils ever recorded (about 3.45 billion years ago).
someonep93 7 months ago
@Ardensfax "DNA and proteins are similar between species because all life is carbon based, and came from the same amino acids..."
Just a quick note:
All DNA and proteins consist of the same basic molecules, in which you're correct:
DNA - 4 nucleobases that makes up the gen. code, 2 structural molecules
Proteins - twenty-some AA
However, that isn't what makes DNA and proteins similar between species. The functions of DNA and proteins depends on the ordering of nucleobases and AA, respectively.

@someonep93 (cont'd)
[I wonder how much I've written by now]

@HealthyCabbie actually matter/energy cannot be created or destroyed, its called the conservation of energy/matter, and its is a law of physics.

@ELEMENTSFAN666: You have just described the 1st law.
But where did the energy come from? I think God did it, I cannot prove it but if I were a betting man, Gods got my vote.
Have you any answers? I have seen Lawrence Krausse and his attempt, but that still relies on neutron being present.
HealthyCabbie 7 months ago
OK, THEN SHOULD I BELIEVE WE ALL CAME FROM NOTHING, THAT MATTER AND ENERGY IS ETERNAL, THAT WE EVOLVED FROM MONKEYS WHEN THERE'S NO EVIDENCE.
THERE'S NO EVIDENCE FOR ANY OF THIS, SO COMMON SENCE TELLS ME NOT TO BELIEVE IN TRUE SCIENCE AND NOT SOME CRAZY NUT WHO HATES GOD AND HIS FOLLOWERS.
THE FOOL IN HIS HEART SAYS THERE IS NO GOD, THINK ABOUT IT, DO NOT LISTEN TO MANS OPINIONS.

So if your going to claim that God doesn't exist then claim you cant prove it then go on to ask what makes sense and what doesn't you just ask does it make sense that you cant prove what you want others to believe, You are a hypocrite MR.

they are using beliefs in the supernatural to interfere with the natural world.

mrcallofdutyman1 9 months ago
FightingAtheist, your video and point are moot, and here is why. When someone brings a claim he shoulders burden of proof, not those who challenge that claim. The faithful bring the claim that religion is real and teach others that it is real. No one is born believing in religion, or anything else. Atheists challenge the implanted belief in god. The burden of proof lies with the theists so there is no point in trying to prove our claim as we do not shoulder the burden of proof.
thefiniteknowable 9 months ago
You are awesome. These points have been proven, but the way you say it makes it better.
kace124 9 months ago 19
@kace124 it is true we atheists cannot prove that "god" doesnt exist. HOWEVER, as the people making the claim that he DOES exist, you have to provide evidence, we do not have to debunk your claim.
for instance, 2+2=2000! DISPROVE THAT! see, you can disprove it.... because I have provided (bad) evidence to support my claim. however religion provides no proof, and cannot be disproven, and because it has not proof, SHOULD BE CONSIDERED THE BULLSHIT IT IS.

DarkZayro 10 months ago
Nice introduction. However I´d like to add some considerations. Indeed it is impossible to refute something supernatural, since it isn´t based on the regular empirical evidence you can falsify. Yet looking at the theory you can´t falsify with logical reasoning alone will not help. Reconstructing the theory without implausible aspects, how we came to existence without the supernatural, will offer alternatives. The theory is not refuted, but more plausible alternatives will develop understanding.
poppiedree 10 months ago
@everywallwillfall The reason there is an Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Bible is because the conflict is older than the Bible. Israelites were in a direct conflict with Canaanites which is the word the Bible uses to refer to Palestinians.
In Deuteronomy 7:1-2 and 20:10-17 God himself commands Israelites to massacre several races including Canaanites. Israel is just following Deuteronomy 20:17.
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
@everywallwillfall You're using Ezekiel now?
"I also gave them over to statutes that were not good and laws they could not live by; I let them become defiled through their gifts—the sacrifice of every firstborn—that I might fill them with horror so they would know that I am the LORD." Ezekiel 20:25-26
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
@everywallwillfall That isn't proof. But this is:
God is by definition almighty. Which means that he's omnipotent and there's no such creature that is equal to or greater than him. If there's no such creature, then God cannot create such creatures. However God is omnipotent. An omnipotent being who cannot create such creatures is self-contradictory. That which is self-contradictory doesn't exist.
q.e.d.
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
@drrobertoboogie97 Nice try. God cannot create a a being that exceeds his power ( if he could, that being would become God) because He possess maximal powers. An inability to exceed a maximum isn't an actual limitation, its just a meaningless linguistic construction that has no applicability to logical thought. An ability to exceed a maximum is a self contradiction, and following your own logic, it cannot exist as an ability that God needs to have to be logically coherent.
DrOman5596 10 months ago
@DrOman5596 If he can't do a certain thing, he's not maximal.
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
@drrobertoboogie97 Not quite. You're trying to integrate nonsense and oxymoron into logic, which demands consistency and coherence. Omni means all. If you have all of something, you cannot get more of it, you have the maximum amount. Like you said, self contradictory things don’t exist. The ability to exceed a maximum is self-contradictory, and illogical, and isn't something he needs to be able to do for his omnipotence to be logically coherent.
DrOman5596 10 months ago
@DrOman5596 Is maximum a limit? Something that is limited is not omnipotent. An omnipotent being is limitless. If God can't exceed a limit, he's not omnipotent. A god who's not omnipotent is self-contradictory.
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
@drrobertoboogie97 Do you even know what omnipotent means? Let me break it down for you. Omni means all, potent, means powerful. If you have all of something, you cannot get more of it, thats why God has the maximum amount of power. If you have all power, you don't have unlimited power, you posses the maximum amount of power. Even if your strawman of omnipotence meaning limitless was true, it would mean that he could overcome your silly word games and you'd be raising a moot point.
DrOman5596 10 months ago
@DrOman5596 The New Oxford American Dictionary defines omnipotent as:
omnipotent |ämˈnipətənt|
adjective
(of a deity) having unlimited power; able to do anything.
No strawman, just definition.
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
@drrobertoboogie97 It's a strawman, in that it isn't a definition that serious religious philosophers or theologians (Aquinas, Lewis, Plantinga etc) defend. Even if it were the theologically correct definition, it would mean that nothing could impose a limit on God, including logic, and he would be able to create a higher being while still being logically consistent. If it is established that something has limitless power, "can't" becomes meaningless, because can't would imply a limitation.
DrOman5596 10 months ago
@everywallwillfall What proof do you have that the god you worship does exist? You don't have the knowledge of all the millions of gods that humanity have made up over their lifetime and the description of such from others. These things are not proof that the god you worship does exist.
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
@everywallwillfall If you don't know what proof means, I pity you.
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
@everywallwillfall That was exactly what I thought before I became an atheist.
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
@everywallwillfall You are wrong. You can't take it on faith that there is a god. The burden of proof is on the positive claim (i.e. God exists) and faith is by definition belief without proof.
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
@everywallwillfall Well it has been the 28th, are you raptured yet? You remember the deal, don't you? If you don't get raptured, you're going to be an atheist.

tommytalks77 10 months ago
The existence of “God” can't be proven or disproven. Since even science tells us that most of the universe is not perceivable to us (dark matter/energy) both religion and atheism must be viewed as dogmatic belief systems that are, at this point, intangible. To rule anything out is presumptuous. The universe was created by forces that we little understand. What we decide to call them matters less then how we choose to respond to the "miracle" of creation.
Blackboilingrobotoil 10 months ago
@Blackboilingrobotoil Yes it can. You can disprove God by proving it is self-contradictory. Just watch.
God is by definition almighty. Which means that there is no being that is equal to or greater than him. Thus he cannot create such a being. We know that God is equal to himself. So he cannot create himself. However, as I said, he's by definition almighty, an almighty being who cannot create himself is self-contradictory. That which is self-contradictory is also nonexistent.
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago

Deut. 18:22
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
@everywallwillfall I have known God for 13 years and yet I'm an atheist. What's your point?
The Bible says that Jesus's generation will not pass away until the rapture happens. Well they did. So Jesus is wrong.
If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. Deuteronomy 18:22
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
@everywallwillfall Yes. That's why even I have more in common with your god than you. If atheists are damned to hell, wouldn't God be the first one who should wind up in hell? But according to the Bible, God is in heaven.
"And there will come a time when God seeks out his fellow heathens. Glory awaits them in the highest of Kingdoms." -Leroy 10:8
So according to the Bible I will be in heaven.
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
The ironic thing is that you also have a video entitled "God does not exist".
drrobertoboogie97 10 months ago
@everywallwillfall You say that the rapture will happen tomorrow. If so, here's the deal. If no one gets raptured tomorrow, you will become an atheist. If someone does get raptured tomorrow, I will repent- Oh right, I can't repent once he shows himself and will be damned to hell forever! How loving and forgiving your god is!
