  • You've probably learned this in the year since the match, but against Ibuki it's really important to prevent yourself from getting even 1 hard knockdown; it's just easy mixups and combos for the Ibuki player once that happens. However, as an Ibuki player myself, I find that Ibuki has poor defensive options available for her. In her current metagame, it's either rush down, or get rushed down. The key is to hit first and keep the player from getting their rhythm (sort of like professional boxing).

  • Sorry if this is stupid but...is her rising kick tenshukayaku hard to get out? Is it not in game?

  • St mp?

  • wow nice comeback at the end there. i'm curious what controller you use?

  • i think you just didnt know which way to block the crossup which is hard. sometimes they dont even know where its going to land. ex sbk is not good they might do ex kunai or early kunai to beat it. if they are doing the target combo that launches you into the air you could wait and do an ex sbk then

  • That was quite a comeback on that last round!

  • Against that Ibuki slash kick -> superjump-> kunai setup do 'early' reversal EX SBK and to block it, use the same block method as defending against the neckbreaker -> superjump setup becaue she'll always end up on the other side. (Listen out for the superjump because she'll yell as she jumps like Viper). If she normal jumps after the slash kick setup though, it's ambiguous to block but you can still use 'early' reversal EX SBK to beat it.

Also, focus dashing still works for both setups.
