I may be a Christian but I am also a man of science. America, Rome, and many other nations were not necessarily built on religion but used it as a base to build their vast powers. The only successful atheistic nation was the USSR and we all know how badly that turned out. Religion is a vital key in society and society has yet to operate functionally under atheism for a long period of time. And even if there was, could it match the prowess of the various religious empires which stood before?

I'm an atheists, I allow people to enjoy religion whether to find spiritual comfort or just a way of life, however if it starts to threaten those such as myself for not following the religion that calls me an “infidel” then we have problems, I can't seem to understand why all religions have to believe they're better than everyone else?

I'm raised Apostolic (Christian), and I've always been told that we were born in sin and shaped in iniquity, so when I look at someone, it is not my place to deem myself greater than they. In fact, Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for doing that very thing

At that point He acknowledged the promise was made unto Isaac's line, not Ishmael's. Ishmael was to be blessed THROUGH Isaac, but somewhere along the line that was forfeited

That is why Christians are a part of the promise. Islam is an Abrahamic religion, but early in Ishmaels line, the blessing was forfeited. It goes a lot deeper but I don't remember all the specifics
