Since when does the MacBook have the backlit keyboard? I dont ever remember them having it....I know the Pro's have it and I'll be buying one, do you know if the clearguard fits the pro?

@buckmaster1989 i'e had my macbook for about 18 months and it's always had backlit keys - so ever since the unibody aluminium maybe?

I don't know if it will fit the pro - I'm sure there will be one that fits if they are not the same size keyboards! I've never used it since this video - hated the sticky feel!

I found the same thing it was too thick but eventually I got used to the cover and am now fine with it, I also have a kb cover that has the keys printed in a different keyboard layout and while that one is thinner and more people like it i still find no problem with my zcover anymore.

don't use those silicone covers on your macbook b/c the main air input is on the left side of the keyboard.(around the WASD keys) it sucks the air from under it. so it will get hotter easily.

I feel the same way about my Moshi Clearguard- its sitting on my desk while my laptop is downstairs. I might use it if I know Im going to be outside or something but otherwise its more of a nuisance when trying to type fast.

Correct me if im wrong but doesn't the alu macbook output a good fraction of its heat between the keyboard keys? I have noticed a big increase of heating while operating my macbook alu 2.4ghz with the lid closed (note that there is also some kind of software embedded in osx to prevent using it with the lid closed.....)

You can use it with the lid closed. You just need to plug in an external keyboard and mouse to wake the laptop from sleep with the lid closed.

i've never had a problem with it overheating - it lives on an iLap rain design stand so Maybe that helps

Hi, i own the 13,3" 2.4ghz alu macbook, and it is the coolest, and most quiet laptop i have ever encountered. I have a very high end 13.3" sony vaio at home too but it really throws the towel in compared to the alu. The vaio is also notably thicker and wider.

I would not recommend one of these for a laptop. When this thing is on the keyboard the fan sucks in a punch of dust and then it has no where to go. And then when you remove this thing and try to clean your keyboard, some of the dust is some how embedded into the keyboard.

I don't know about the Uni-body Laptops though, cause they are made out of aluminum.
