Also are the step sequencers on this device jsut the same a a software step sequencer that comes with say massive or any other software synth? If so I'm thinking I could just somehow assign a software step sequencer to my korg pad then I'd have the same without having to spend any money!
hi Would it be possible to route a tb-303 vst through either an emx or esx if you used them as a midi controller or something? Then you could get pretty authentic tb-303 plus all the other oldschool hardware at an affordable price while keeping a hardware interface.
Bro I been trying to link the two for 3 days now. I just starting using Cubase love it. How do you do it? do i need an audio interface, i have a midi to usb cord my cpu recognizes it?
@insanemembrane230 Just route midi out from EMX to your computer midi in. Make a midi track in Cubase and route it to ABL. Then use ABL learning function to map midi CC's sent by EMX to control right parameters. Same philosophy works with other plugins too. Ensure you are not in pattern mode in ABL, if you want to use EMX as a sequencer. Good luck and cheers!
Yes, it works. Just use midi connection and some kind of software (Cubase, Max) or box (MIDI Solutions Event Processor maybe) and it maps kick to right channel & note.
There might be easier way too (using alternative audio output in emx and trigger input in mbase), but I have not tested them.
nice, nice, nice...
excellent...

so you can use the Mbase without an xbase?
like I can midi control it with my emx like you did?

oh, but I cant directly control the Mbase with midi?
I have to use a computer?

I just tested it and it seems to work fine without computer too :)
Just ensure mbase midi channel is set to 10 and plug midi cable from emx out to mbase in. Then create a bd sequence using emx and it plays in mbase.
CC mappings are not compatible, they should be translated somehow if editing in emx is needed.
I usually use Cubase or Max to create mappings and I haven't tested direct connection earlier.

Very nice, never thought of hocking up my emx to a 303plugin :) Sounds sweet :)

Thank you! This was a bit strange idea, but it worked pretty well :)
