Wow, you are very dedicated to your lovely cats! I'm glad there's people like you in this world who know how to love and care for an animal, especially animals in need :-)
Yes. Ripley was going to be shot when my Mom took her.
Paris came from a household where they neglected to feed his mom while she was pregant. He had upper respiratory and was under weight when we took him. He almost died.
Mom bought Helen of Troy for my sister from the humane society. She suffered the same Symptoms as Paris. we had to hand feed her can cat food via a syringe, & give her medication until she healed. She was a cat someone just threw out on the street with a litter of kittens when THS took her for selling.
Dad bought Kika from a pet store as a Birthday present for my mom.
Sanzo came from the same pet store. He had a bloody nose that they kept wiping saying it was'nt blood.
They kept saying he was healthy. It turns out, he had upper respiratory, the kitty version of herpes (very unlike the human disease), and lower urinary track disease.
With TLC and medication, we were able to bring him back into good health.
Nix, the first born, weighed only a few ouches. She was under her weight, & was born prematurely, so she was very sickly. We had to use a heating pad to keep her temperature leveled, until we could get her to the vet in the morning. I also had to perform mouth to mouth to help stabilize her breathing.
Max, the second born, developed an infection in his tummy and we had to rush him to an emergency vet, because it was a Sunday.
We had to bottle feed them every three hours at first.
And leave them at the vet everyday. Kika was dry of milk, so we had to hand them until they were old enough to eat dry cat food.
Kika developed an infection, and quit eating. Both her kittens were sick as well, and had to be on the same medication as Mommy, but in a much smaller dose. Max was on two medications. We had to bottle feed Kika Squash, water, and canned cat food, and bottle feed the kittens. It was hard work. Barely any sleep. They grew up to be such a wonderful family. Thank God.

Three is'nt a lot. It's like the shirt says; Cats are like a bag of potato chips. You can't have just one. LOL
