BSG started to become a train wreck in the last seasons. Even the writers admitted they had no idea where they were going, and just made it up as they went along. With the series concluded, SciFi decided to try to capture the same audience by doing endless spinoff movies and now series, since they couldn't keep the original show going.

They also cancelled Atlantis to put the awful Universe on, which was a mix of Voyager, Lost in Space, and BSG. It was aimed at the same audience.

anyway ... the thing with the BSG last season worked (the dramas , the social conflicts ... etc )

the only good sci-fi show right now is outcasts ...

They tried too hard to go for the young, drama-loving demographic, and the show sucked and got cancelled.

SciFi has never been known to do good shows. They have a few outstanding ones, and they seem to cancel any that do any good (Farscape, StarGate, ect.) so since the last spinoff series failed, don't expect the next one to be any better.

It's not being negative, it's knowing SciFi's rep. At the end of the day, SciFi controls the show.

SGU's pacing was just way too slow. It had it's good moments, but they were few and far between. Too much time was wasted in each episode, and events just crawled by. If they reinitiate the show, they'd better fix up the frakkin' pacing.

I tried watching and liking this show. I enjoyed Zoe (Alessandra Torresani was a talented surprise.) but when Tamara came around and switched from frightened girl to ultimate badass? CLICK. Off with Caprica. I find such shows exhausting. Lack of development, a mixed moral and philosophical message against the backdrop of the BSG universe. Though I must admit I was intrigued by BSG.

I might give it another shot, but until then....thumbs down.
