now it explains how in the piano scene when the map is shown why it looks like it got burned. the octupus/music scene was a bit cheesy but at least in coinciding w/ the bats it makes it more realistic that thered be some kind of living things down there

  • Coreys (mouth) Cute eyebrow raise at 3:51 <3

  • i used to have the version with all these outake scenes in it on a tape. Only found out later when i got the dvd in like 06 that they were not actually in the orginal.

  • enjoy watching the full edition of the following film at a=v=a=t=z.net remove =

  • 3:43-3:59

    ha ha ha ha ha

  • Funny how the octopus scene which contained the Goon Squad song "Eight Arms" was cut from the film but the song remained on the soundtrack. I have never heard a song being cut from a movie and still remaining on the soundtrack , is this a first ?

  • @timetravelingtheater jesus no lots, but love the scene too!

  • "NObody hits my brother except me!!!"!!!!!!

  • Divine!!! Thank you very much! Though I have the DVD, it's that nice to see it youtubed already!

  • Many of these scenes were in the film at one point because I'm actually old enough to have seen the film at it's initial release and I know for a fact that the octopus scene and the "hey guys" scene were in there. Not sure about the rest.

They were definately removed for the tv version though. I don't think they were re-added several years later when the dvd finally came out.

  • hey u guys hahahahahahhahahaha sooooooo funny

  • you guys are right , that is the boats front statue.I should have paused and looked closer.

  • Part two could be called "the gunnies", every one has a gun.

  • 5:07 , whose the dead corpse?!?!

  • iv got the full uncut version on dvd i edited it mysleft i ripped my original goonies dvd then ripped the extras and split the uncut scenes and edited them back into the movie its awsome im good at aditing tho so that helped

  • Was there a deleted scene in whcih they make Andy and honorary Goonie?

  • @WastedPo no but they kinda did that in the wishing well when she sends up her tennis club jacket on the bucket

  • Lol data drops the binocular. Ohh noo

  • @prez401

lol yeah like right b4 that how the pinchers a pal gets mouth in the ass and they show chunk laughing at him. a very ironic scene for the movie since its one of the only times chunk is actually laughing at someone else's misfortune instead of his own

  • That time i kiss you mama! Ah mouth so epicly an asshole. =]

  • ah fucking youtube clips now i gotta go buy the dvd lol

  • Our court time is now! c'mon! lol

  • 1:20jerk!

    lmao

  • Cool!

  • OH NOOOO XD ada

  • ok when the kids escaped the cave and then talking to their parents and the other people and data said something about a octopus they need to put the outtakes back in!

  • @Bennyisawsome1112 When they used to air the movie on the Disney channel, they kept the octopus scene in.

  • oh 80's music, the giant rubber octopi's only weakness

  • Oh, I can see that. I was talking about the MPAA's impression of it, not my own or the directors.

The octopus scene wasn't in the version that I saw. The "Pincers of Peril" and the confrontation at the convenience store was.

  • these are release cos there on the dvd!!!

  • MIKEY MY HAIR! hahaha

  • 1 of the video game machines in the Mini Mart was the "Return of the Jedi" arcade game.

  • asian invention kid is hilarious.

  • what's that!!!!???ahahahaha

  • this scene was not in the original theatrical release it is on some tv versions of the goonies, watch it on dvd the dvd is the original theatrical release, none of these scenes are in it... they are only on the dvd extras...

  • 50 dawa bill!! 50 dawa bill!!!!

  • lol

  • 2:25 Brand saves the day!!! woooo!! i agree, they should have released this into the actual movie. and i never got this: is Brand stronger than Troy? because he seems more fit.

  • Troy also scared of him thats why he picks on the kids smaller than him

  • data cracks me up

  • they should release a version optioning these scenes in the viewing

  • mouth '' Mikey my hair''! lol goonies stick together :) thats my new saying ''Jerk Alert!'' xxx Love the goonies x

  • i love these and i think mikey is sooo fit xx

  • @oldschoolfan82, OK picky boy, you are right.

They have been released but they are not part of the actual movie, so, most people just never seen them. That's what I mean with "unreleased".

    Now what?

  • now what? ok, I'll take your bait.

You used the word unreleased when you meant deleted scenes

@LinusLamb You never saw the store scene on the Disney channel, stop making it up. It was left on the cutting room floor before the movie was even finished being filmed.

  • Pretty sure these were a part of the actual movie that I saw 17 times in the theater, they were cut from the video release though.

  • I never saw the movie at the theaters but I saw it also like 20 times when it came out on HBO, and I have to say that all these scenes were there.

  • Really? Wow this came out when I was 10 and I've seen the movie a bunch of times on tv, but this is the first time I've seen the scene in the store...weird

  • Maybe it was a geographical thing. I travel a lot and have noticed that certain areas will allow more graphic versions of movies to be shown, often at lower ratings, than here in North America. I saw this film in Canada when it was relaeased, perhaps a different version was released internationally than was released in the US?

My brother and I both worked at the same theater and he says that these scenes were in the film as well.

  • no these scenes werent in the original movie they were in some of the tv versions..

  • Again, I am getting the impression that their inclusion in the theater versions varied by geographical location.

The general consensus of people from the United States seems to be that they weren't in the original, yet Canadians like myself, and Europeans distinctly remember them being included.

It's not unusual for movies to be released in different forms to different geographical areas depending on rating restrictions, local laws, etc.

  • I've got it! 1985 was a bad year for censorship in America. The PMRC was pushing for warning labels on music and the power granted to the MPAA the year before was in full effect. A PG movie in the US that year probably couldn't have a kid reading a porno, another mock smoking, a "young man's testicles in peril," sight gag..and I'm sure that the octopus was just too "scary."

Canada and Europe don't answer to the MPAA, so we likely got the unedited version.

  • awesome thanks for the great info I see what you were saying in you comment, I am actually from oregon and have been to the houses and the jail where those scenes were filmed and the museum where mikeys dad worked, all the inside scenes of the house and jail were filmed in a studio in LA..

  • I didn't realize where the location sets were until I ran across the videos of a YouTube user who attended one of the reunions. Had I, I would have stopped in on one of my many drives up the coast to school and, later, to date my husband.

An aside, Jeff Cohen, who played Chunk, is my husband's entertainment lawyer and I only made that connection about 4 or 5 months ago lol.

I'm a little slow to pick up on things, if you hadn't noticed :).

  • thats so cool..

  • @thegirl44

Actually, I live in the U.S. and I distinctly remember seeing the Octopus Scene (the others I can't say for sure). But as for censorship. Given that the kids curse several times and there are repeated jokes involving anatomy, so I doubt that was the reason for excluding the scene.

  • @phretor

It's true- they used to run the outtakes on the Disney Channel when I was a kid...I guess to make up for lack of profanity.

  • @phretor

This was in the Disney one.

  • thee aren't unreleased You can see them on the goonies dvd. And the disney channel used to show the octopus scene when they aired the movie

  • i taped this when I was a kid off of the disney channel and remember all of these scenes.

  • You can hear the mechanical ocotopus moving backwards... But it does now explain the whole octopus thing at the end

  • i always had hoped to see "the octopus" footage. it always confused me as a kid--the dialogue at the end talking about the octopus that never made an appearance.

  • lmao@chunk eating the ice cream

  • haha joint the case :) i LOVE mikey

  • The mini-mart scene is too long, and the octupus scene is too ridiculous, so I can see why they were cut out. I don't see why Richard Donner didn't keep the scene with Sloth and Chunk in the cave. It's short and explain where the "Hey, you guys!" line came from.

  • In the 1988 or so airing on NBC, that scene was kept in.

  • yeah i saw this scene on tv... 'bout 86

  • At 4:43 is he really saying X-Box is fucked? ^_^

  • No, he said "X marks the spot".

  • Hei ....that chinese boy, i dont remember his name , aint he the same one whos playng in the indiana jones movie too ???

  • Yes in fact he IS :D

  • He now does a lot of stunt work behind some of the bigger Asian stars...

  • I just watched the movie tonight on tbs(tv version) and the only scene that is on it from this video, is chunk amd sloth walking in the cave. The Mini mart is not in it and the octopus isn't either.. I do remember seeing the octopus scene along time ago though, i thought on regular tv, But not tonight.. they deleted alot of scenes on tbs, it kinda sucked..

  • I have only seen the one with the octopus on TV 1 time like 2 years ago i think it was some show called DVD on TV. Other than its been the same one with the same scene over and over for 20 years .

  • I can see why they took the scene at the MiniMart out. The guy playing Troy is a horrible actor.

  • troy says fuck you

he said he is gonna buy that house and tear it down and build a golf course on it and then hit golf balls at everyone that comes to see it.

    XD

  • He had to go though.....His court time is NOW.

  • Wow - this scene actually explains what a Goonie is.

  • so thats why the map was charred. i never knew why one end looked marred while he other looked fine.

  • ya if you saw it on TV it had these scenes in it because of other stuff they cut out, or because they needed to fill out to 2 hours time and i think its only 1 1/2 theatrical cut

  • I remember these in actual movie. depends on version.

  • I remember seeing one version with the octopus, but I might be wrong

  • Check out the RC Cola in 2:28.

  • The shape of the soda cans back then as well, brings back memories. RC cola lol, no one drinks that.

  • Damn what a slap and the way mikey said archeologist..LOL!!

  • no one hits my brother except me!!! ahahaha

  • the way mouth says "Jerk" is what i say to assholes like Troy in my life

  • the soundtrack is really good on this movie, such an adventure film, no matter how old i get it will always be cool, i was born in 1985when this came out and i grew up with it on video

  • thanks so much for posting this....amazing!

  • Yeah Troy wasn't introduced properly. They had to leave the scene in. I am glad they got rid of the octopus scene. It looked so fake.

  • Yeah your right about the octopus part.

  • The only problem was the octopus is mentioned at the end of the film. This leaves views wondering what is being talked about since the scene was absent from the final cut.

  • Also, wondering who exactly Troy is - it took me forever to realize he's the guy in the bathroom and also the kid at the end of the movie.

  • While I'm glad they took those scenes out of "The Goonies",I think the editor could have left a small part of the convenience store scene in it. I'd much rather see Troy walking into a convenience store first, with sunglasses on. Instead,Troy is driving a car when we first see Troy,Stef and Andy. I'd love to see a band act out some of that Convenience store scene and/or another "The Goonies scene,in a music vid. Specially Fall Out Boy. I like Troy also.

  • I remember seeing this on HBO or something with all these deleted scenes. I was actually surprised to the the movie later on TV without the octopus scene.

  • Fascinating piece of movie history. I don't disagree with the editor's decision to cut out these scenes, but I would have liked a "director's cut" release with them included.

  • I've only seen this once on T.V. in my entire life. Haven't seen it since. Thanks for posting.

  • Man this is amazing! Thanks for sharing!

  • haha. i <3 mouth!!

  • OMG!!! I LOVE DATA!!!!! like im IN LOVE WITH DATA i swera if he was still the same age now i would marry him!!!!! <3 data!!

  • "Hey you know the way your puffing on that cigarette kinda reminds me of something."

    "Oh yeah what's that?"

"The time i kissed your momma!"

BEST COMEBACK EVER! I LOVE CLARK! :)

  • ilovedata(:

  • OH NO!

  • what song was that

  • i thought my respect for Mouth couldn't get any higher...thanx for proving me wrong!

    nice!

  • thanks for putting this up.

im glad they deleted these scenes though. the mushy Brand and Andy thing was my least favorite part of the movie.
