Apparently there's a sexual practice whereby a live rodent inside a balloon or condom and inserted into the rectum. As the small animal is dying and convulsing it causes stimulation that supposedly enhances orgasm. Well, the string attached to retrieve the dead rodents balloon came loose, requiring Mr. Gere to seek medical help. Wanna hear about Rod Stewart?

Yes, I hugged my pooche after this movie too; how could one not.

I do wonder though, how much time hachiKo was alone, given that I read somewhere that gardener /station manager died, but then another took his place of course...my heart aches to know and hope and pray that HachiKo was loved, and knew it, right up until his death in 1935. That alone haunts me.

I started watching this movie right when Richard Gere's character died. As soon as I saw Hachi waiting for him at the train station.......that did it.......balling like a baby for the rest of the movie! And then to find out that this was a true story, it REALLY broke my heart! This is one of the most touching and saddest movies that I have ever seen! More sad then "Where The Red Fern Grows" and "Old Yeller" combined! A must see for all animal lovers!!! Hachi earned the statue that was mad

Funny how a film can move you,i love dog's but cats more i have my little mate Dennis ( a cat ) and i love him to bits and this film scared me.I watched this film yesterday with my girl friend of a month and half all cosy and that and found myself holding back the emotion and tears.By the time it got to ten years after he'd died and his widow sat down with hachi at the station i had to leave the room from emarrisment because i cracked up.This is a powerfull film not for the faint hearted !

Oh my word. Whoever hasn't seen this movie, please do. I fell in love with the whole story line! It's not your typical dog movie, where the dog just dies and it's sad, it does go through Hachis life, but it is so much more than that. 5 out of 5 stars for Hachi!
