how do you know singapore airlines staff dont plant drugs in ur luggage during the flight? if you are found to be in possession of drugs in singapore, you get a madatory death penalty. Why risk it?
is it daily traffic between London - Singapore cause i'm going to fly from London to Singapore on Saturday with the A380? please answer as soon as possible
Dude for real... Speed brakes (spoilers) was designed to slow down the plane while it's in the air, and they dont help much after tuchdown. Revers trust and whels do most of the braking. If you would know atleast something about aviation, than you should know that there is a speed restriction under FL100. And it is 250 KIAS. Also you would know if plane is desending even on idle trust it speeds up, and thats where you use your spoilers to keep you below restricted speed.
Yes you are correct PPL, but you are also wrong. I went on work experience to the Singapore Flying College who have a branch at Maroochydore QLD and was allowed to watch during time in the Sims and the students were told there by their instructor that they should use their spoilers to control their speed during approach. You may be better trained than me, but sometimes you just have to admit your wrong.
You haven't flown the aircraft or for the airline their procedure may different. Finally I am not dumb I am just saying what I have been told and last time I checked that doesn't make me dumb.
@WJ2593 My dad is a captain for virgin blue flying 737s. They do use the spoilder during flight (decent) when necessary.....hence 'flight decent' on the throttle quadrant noob.
Wow, you seem to have gone incredibly defensive for someone who thought they were right. Also panictactics is right when he says any well travelled person would know speed brakes/spoilers are used regularly. My flying instructor also told me that they are used regularly to comply with ATC requests and speed restrictions, so there we have it.
Your immature use of language reflects poorly on you. Being unable to spell or to construct a grammatically correct sentence is very unbecoming of a 35 year old Cathay Pacific A330 captain.
A330 is a total fake. I also found him out due to his poor wording of comments and knowledge of aviation terminology. I was going to leave him alone because I felt sorry for him having to he is a pilot but after seeing his attack on you.....
A330 pilot also claims to have flown the A320,A330,A340,B727,B737,B777,MD-83 and MD-11 and claims to have flown for British Airways,Easyjet,KLM,FinnAir,DHL and now Cathay Pacific.
So it's not the first time you've been caught out? There are plenty of youtubers claiming to be pilots and I doubt many of them have the same problem with paranoid sceptical critics as you do. In fact you're the first 'pilot' I've encountered on YouTube who is clearly fraudulent. Get a life.
Are you trying to reply to me idiot? Wouldn't have known if you hadn't left a comment on my profile page.
All large jet transports that I know of are equipped with speed brakes/spoilers and do use them routinely for speed control and to manage their descent - including the A330. A seasoned airline passenger would know this, let alone a former 'BA 777 pilot now flying A330s for Cathay Pacific'. Pretending to be an airline pilot is very sad and pathetic.
Not recommended? Speed brakes are used routinely. It could be to reduce speed to comply with ATC instruction or to maintain descent profile due to unexpected tail winds or ATC requirements.
Nice video ! I am going on a long holiday in November to Melbourne, Australia. I am going with Thai AIrways from London Heathrow via Bangkok on a Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 777-200ER. Cant Wait !
holy shit this is freaky ... im flying the day u posted this video on the same flight number in the same seat from the same place to the same place !!! thats sooo fucking freaky dude !!! how isit then as i am flying completelythe same :P
Well I live a couple of hours from London and we haven't had snow in winter for years. We usually get snow at a complete random time of the year, like march, but the last time it snowed properly was about 3-4 years ago...:(
I believe, but I can barely remember the last time it snowed in December. But hey, we might get lucky this year, We did get a little snow a week ago, nothing big, but I've got my fingers crossed. :)
beautiful machine

Great video, the A380 is quite an impressive plane, and from the sounds of it your flight was excellent too.
Something about the date you uploaded this, btw...that was the day I flew on a plane for the first time, no joke.

You are just as dumb as panicattacks!!
firstly, I am aware that speedbrakes are deplyed after TOUCHDOWN, not whilst airbourne! thats my argument.
So, don't gte involved if you've no idea what this is about. Many of my friends also have a grudge against panicattacks.
hahaha, you are training to be a private pilot and working for your PPL, you wont even have a clue then!!!
stop making yourself sound stupid.
Whats the 380 like to fly on anyway

It seems highly pathetic that you have to notify an airline or in your case interrogate!!
I bet they were able to recognise me and it seems really sad that a grown man has so much time on his hands!!
Besides, you must have sounded like a right old twat coz you dont even know my real name or anything!! haha

For some bizarre reason, all of you people on youtube are paranoyed that pilots are only pretending they really fly for a living.
Lying is pathetic and I do fly for a living.
I am aware of the aviation terminology etc.
Youtube is getting really anoying now and I am tempted to ditch my account.
well, happy flying the B747. douchebag

For your information, I have notified British Airways' and Cathay Pacifics PR departments of your rather bizarre YouTube impersonation efforts.

Not too sure about the A380, but I know that on the A330 aircraft, this is not recommended.
I am a pilot, you're not. So, I highly advise you speak to me nicely and realise that in fact, you are the bullshitter!
thanks

Speed barkes were deployed whilst airbourne, this is not recommended
TheA330pilot 2 years ago
actually this is normal for any aircraft going to high or fast on approach...
HIFKhockey90 2 years ago 2
Its not reccommended but if the aircraft has been told to come in fast to keep spacing then it has to do this to keep approach speed.
