I agree with @carasic, it was the best shot Sam had to save him. Take his hand and watch him die wasn't the best option either, so I think Sam did the right thing, even though I'm sure he couldn't make it in time if wasn't Ruby there to save Dean... I don't like her, but sometimes she was really helpfull ^^

i have been watching this show since the first time it came out.ive never missed an episode of it.i dont have all the seasons but im getting there.ive seen every episode about 3 times each. ive basically liked all of them.but i absoultly hate dean dying.hes my fave and i also think he is so hott! i like sam but y always dean! i also hate how Ruby dies shes a favorite to0.and wat ever happened to joe and her mom they kicked ass!good thing bobbys still there!y does it always have to be my fave!

No, Jo (seriously, she's a girl, her name is Jo) and her mom didn't die. Ellen was buying pretzels when the bar was burned down by a demon and Jo was god knows where/ Not at the bar at least, 'cause she and her mom had a falling out (that's what you call it, right?)

Ash did die though. Poor, crazy Ash.

I think it will be good for Dean to become a demon(which Im sure he will). Itll be nice to have less of a good guys /bad guys black and white vibe. I like that the show getting a more shades of grey grown up theme. This show just gets better every season.
