I'm thinking of laying the same floors on top of my scratch up wood floor, my questio have you had any issue with the vinyl floor planks such as area bubbling up or scratche ect. and if so how did you solve the issue.
I put this product in a office loft with acoustical sub-flooring that was under under the old carpet. Goes down EASY, cuts easy, and the results are stunning looking. VERY happy with it.. i used the cherry-wood finish color.. looks like a million bucks, does not look like vinyl at all!
btw - i've had this product for over a year now in my basement - and have ZERO complaints. no visible markings, cleans up easily with broom/vaccuum and a steam cleaner once in awhile. looks as good as new - without the new 'smell'
@boxerfancier I was told this product is excellent for 'not so perfect' subfloor and can be laid directly on top of existing linoleum, tile, etc. The question is how big are you bumps in the floor? Are they nicks, etc. (say less then 1/8") are not an issue at all. Even 1/4" change in floor level as long as it's over a distance, say 4" is probably okay as well. Check with Home Depot on specs. I put down 500sq ft 2yrs ago on a concrete subgrade floor and love it.
if you can't bang those out, and they're more than just a dimple - you might want to try plywood.
these strips will absorb little bumps - the square version of this product - does not absorb it so easily and you WILL see it in the flooring after it's been put down.
quick FYI - saw another guys vid on this and he wasn't going from left to right - make sure you do or it will be a pain to get it to fit together nice...
Very cool! I just saw a pattern I liked in HD this weekend and I was thinking this seemed like a simple fix to a hideous kitchen floor I have now. Looks easy...thanks for posting this!

About to work on mine tomorrow morning. Thanks for the posts. I was trying to see if anyone had difficulties but so far it looks pretty simple.

What do you do if your cement floor has some bumps in it? Do you lay a plywood floor first?

Hi, may I ask what shade of Trafficmaster you installed? This has got to be their Allure, correct?

@lenegal77
this particular finish was the 'hickory'

wait so there is one for 55.00 on home depot . Is that for 1 piece, or how many pieces does it come with. It is the allure one.

@KowKowProductions There's a number of pieces per box, and it covers a certain square footage, something like 40 sq.ft or so.

@muddyehr I've fired my entire production division, shouldn't be a problem anymore.

@mcmartii lol. What shade, may I ask did you install?

This is the most difficult product I have ever worked with. Its very hard to cut and very hard to get it to fit properly.
If I were you DON'T BUY IT.

@Hometheaterdoctor this was the absolute easiest DIY project I've ever done. Not sure why you had issues...

Seriously, you couldn't find anyone to hold the camera for you? This was terrible, lol. But I left no rating.
