I first heard this song when I sang it in church

I cried at the "I'm going there to see my motehr, she said she'd meet me when I come, I'm only going over Jordan, I'm only going over home."

You sing it with different lyrics then we do, but my mother wasn't a Christian (she died several years ago) and I am...so you can imagine how I felt when I sang that. And I didn't know it was coming because I'd never heard the song
