The first time I noticed this song, I thought: what kind of song is named MMM MMM MMM MMM? Is this some random, mindless, mainstream disco song?

Then, after listening to it, I realized how great it was. The lyrics are thoughtful and probably as far from mindless as you can get. I also love the singer's voice, and his face expressions hehe =)

It's a sad world we are living in where music like this is no longer made.

There are lots of reasons this song is confusing yest compelling. You want to empathize with the first two characters who are embarrassed because of surface details on their bodies. But they are happy that someone has it worse so that goes. And the one who has it worse-is he embarrassed of his parents, his religion, the control? And what does the narrator's MMM mean in relation to this? The singer convinces me he knows what it means, but I'm not sure I do. The sound MMM can mean a lot of things.
