This was filmed at Kirkbride Airfield in Cumbria. This is where M-Sport (who build the new 2011 Fiesta WRC and is run by Malcolm Wilson) do a lot of their testing. It's just round the corner from JDM Dyno where I get all my tuning done! Even the cows in the field next to the strip come over to watch lol

Small number of people know there was such thing like Ford Fiesta S2000... in previous model body...It has F.I.A homologation over year ago. Made by Pirtek Rally Team in Australia but no one buy it and team had financial troubles. You can watch that in youtube...

Citroen do not compete in Super2000 since they're competing the WRC and the JWRC which is the Super1600.

When Citroen competing the Xsara S2000 (w? FWD), They were even faster than the 4wd WRC cars and won the France Rally of Corse of the same year.

But Fiesta S2000 will definitely perform better than Punto S2000 and other private teams.

But it was not S2000 specification car, but Kit Car Xsara, FWD, which was much lighter than WRC cars and they could win only on tarmac rallies. But yes, Xsara KC and 306 Maxi Kit Car by Peugeot were really fast car. But Kit Car is FWD and much different and more expansive than S2000 specification.

Rally of Corsica is a tarmac event and Xsara kit car won One and Two in 1999 driven by Philippe Bugalski and Jesús Puras. Kit cars are cheaper which was called the F2 which you can get it from your local authorize dealers as an upgrade(such as Saxo, Clio & 106GTi Maxi-Dimmer). S2000 is a mix of both kit car and legendary Group-N which is cheaper than Wrc cars but more expensive than S1600. Finally the S1600 was also a F2 but only allow 1600cc.

Sorry but S2000 replace WRC in 2011. 2.0 no turbo engine, passive differentials etc. Reduce performance = reduce cost = more brands and better competition. That is the future of rallies. and Ford must have a proven and competitive car

i am so cheering for Ford to get with it and make some good cars today. they can do it, and i really hope they do! as much as i dislike american cars for their cheapness and prefer german and japanese.... i really wish there was a US car manufacturer that I could be a fan of! lets get some national pride in the auto industry here... come on america!!

This is in no way an American car. You people need to understand that British, Australian, and South African Ford are all seperate of each other as is the American Ford.

This car was built by M Sport which is 100% British.

Your saying that because of European Fords, Fords name holds good in the states? No. That is incorrect as 90% of current Mustang, Fusion, Taurus, and North American escort buyers haven't a clue that Fords elsewhere are different. Most of them don't even know their Ford was likely to have been built in Mexico.

That is not what i am saying, we have completely different models over here but are getting the fiesta in 2011. My statement above was referring to Fords business in Europe helping it out in comparison to the other American car companies that ended up having to borrow from the government. A lot of Ford's european models or at least technology used in them are starting to be used over here. While most Americans are unaware that Ford models are different in Europe they are still benefiting
