  • I've been thinking about adding some paradise fish an Angels to my community tank. Do the paradise nip at the Angels fins? Do they get along well?

  • ya, paradise fish are definitely more aggressive than any angel fish i've ever had. but still, i've had some pretty mean ass angel fish :P nice tank !!!

  • what are those small striped fish at the bottom

  • I have 3 small striped fish species in this tank. Yoyo Loaches, Sumo Loaches and African Butterfly Cichlids.

But I assume you are talking about the African Butterfly Cichlids. They are dwarf cichlids in the Pelvicachromis family...quite common actually.

They are quite peaceful with other species but can be territorial with each other...as you can see in this video, the males are constantly facing off and bickering.

    Hope this helps...

  • Im curious as to how you managed to mix community fish with cichlids which are brackish water aggressive and angels who are freshwater aggressive. Put me on to some of what you are doing if those fish are living. Very beautiful tank but up until now I thought this would be unsafe and deadly to fish to mix different kinds of species and water types.

  • First of all, the only true cichlids in here are Angelfish. The other cichlids are part of a sub-family called Dwarf cichlids.

Secondly, cichlids are not brackish water fish. Kribensis are able to survive in semi-brackish environments, but they seldom thrive. I dont know where you heard this, but cichlids are freshwater fish. Also I dont know why you think cichlids are aggressive when in fact, they are renown to be peaceful community fish.

  • Some cichlids, like Convict, Jewels and Mbunas, do not make good community fish...most cichlids and all dwarf cichlids are perfect for community tanks. They are not aggressive. Rather they are territorial and protect their eggs and young...but this can be said of other fish species as well. Each species you see in my tank are recognized as peaceful freshwater tropical fish. Actually the most aggressive fish in the tank are the paradise fish, which are actually Gouramies ; )

  • As for Angelfish, again...I dont know why you classify them as aggressive fish.

Angelfish are territorial and follow a strict hierarchy within their own group.

Many hobbiest have had experiences with very aggressive angelfish, while many others have not. I have never had an aggressive Angelfish and many, many hobbiest would agree that the majority of them are very suitable for community tanks and make great companions for other fish.

  • xx Wow this is really beautiful! I love it! Its so clear! Unlike quite a few videos on here were there very shakey or blurry!! I love the music too 5 stars and favourite! Thanx 4 sharing! xx

  • Awesome tank. Nice vid quality. What recording cam u got?

  • A small digital camera.

    Canon PowerShot A590 IS

Its small and neat. Has lots of settings for photos and can record good enough quality.

    Thanks : )

  • Perfect tank!

  • Thanks ramsheatcards52 !

I will be getting new plant species soon and am waiting to purchase a trio of Corydoras Schwartzi

The tank will be nicer after.

  • wow love your tank im def gonna go for a more natural look next time i do mine, both my paradise fish died and my yellow angel too so will restock when everything has settled, question is, what fish to get ??

  • Sorry to hear about your loss. Out of all my fish, I think the paradise and the corydoras are my favorites. You should really try a pair of Kribensis.

They really do much to bring life to a tank : ) Thanks for the comment Beckie !

  • That is 75 Gallons?! looks to hold much more...

  • Yup, 285 Liter tank/ 75 Gallons.

The tank setup can really make it look bigger or smaller, depending on where the plants are concentrated.

Basicly, the tank is divided in a few section. The bottom is divided in three parts. The left for the Kribensis, (pink bellied fish), the middle, for the corydoras and the right for the Thomasies (small striped fish). The Angelfish and the rasboras also like large, clear spaces where they can swim in schools.

  • love the paradise fish, they look great!!!

  • Thanks Mick !

The Paradise fish look so mean in this video. They must have drank some Red Bull or something ! : D

    Thanks for the comment !

  • So again, this is my 75 gallon tank.

The fish you see now are over excited, since they are still in the feeding frenzy from a few minutes before. While and after being fed Frozen Brine Shrimp, most fish get very excited and start swimming very fast around the tank, in the mood to compete against other fish for food.

After about 10 minutes the fish calm down to their normal state.

In my previous videos of this tank, you can see the same fish, but in normal mode : )
