  • Do the flasher relays have a fuse? My flasher goes through the motion but there is no electric going to the wires that make the lights flash. Any ideas what may be wrong?

  • You must be from Michigan.

  • Nice! What do the stacked washers do?

    If less, slower flash rate?

  • kupiłeś czy sam zrobiłeś bo fajne

  • no bell

  • Did you steal that rr crossing

  • how much are the crossings?

  • how thick are the crossing poles

  • where did you get the crossing

  • Hook the bell up!

  • what voltage dos it run on? Regular 125v house current?

  • Is that relay the same convept as a car 12V flasher for your turn signals?

  • just need a bell now then it will be complete

  • To owensri2, Obviously it's legal to own. Have you had any problems with the rail road for having that stuff?

  • Of course it is legal to own...if you purchase it or it is given to you with permission. I have not had any problems at all. :D

  • why dont you have the bell going?

  • So that's where the light current alternator is - inside of the signal base! Why is it that you can't hear it "tapping" like that at normal crossing installations? It sounded pretty loud in that video, it would seem like you would still be able to hear it even through the metal encasement of the signal base. They must really insulate those things pretty well.

  • No, actually, I only had it there for demonstration purposes. The flasher relay is in the crossing's relay case, the little metal box that you see at each crossing. It contains all the relays and train sensing devices in it. :D

  • I'm guessing that that alternator is similar to the turnsignal flasher in a car.

  • I really want to know how you got those crossings and other railroad stuff?!!!

  • Read below comments... : )

  • Awesome! Even if I could get the stuff i'd never know how to wire it up like that. Nice job!

  • I am the friend of the Brazilian state of sao paulo I also got a flash relay is super cool!

  • Where did you get that stuff?

  • From a private party...eBay...and signal maintainers from various locations.

  • lucky person i would love to have a set of train signals like that thanks for the video clip of that cheers from kym1931

  • WTF. Great video. I'm going through signal training right now w/ u.p..I can't believe you actually own that stuff. Very nice.

  • Cool. I'm trying to get on with CN as a signal maintainer.

  • the box clicks becuase its the contacts hiting on the left side the side and so on if you watch the lights and time it to the clicks you will see what i mean

  • So then you can set how fast the flashers flash?

  • Yes, you can add or remove washers on the pole that is connected to the two electromagnets. The more washers you have, the slower the flasher goes. They must be copper washers for it to work properly. Usually, flasher relays tend to slow down with time, probably from the contacts wearing. You can remove the washers to compensate for this tendency.

  • Why does the box "click"?

  • Or it's a light relay.

  • i had a dn-11B reversed biesed relay it was 500ohm relay 4 point. but it burned up

  • where do you order your stuff.and is you lock half inch or triangle.

  • I mainly get things on eBay, but I know a few signal maintainers that have sent me some things. I don't work for any railroad yet, but hope to soon.

  • EO EO R how many flashes a min?

  • The label says 45-55 FPM, but I added washers today, to make it slow down, to like 40-45 FPM. I don't like them too fast.

  • The Bell Has To Be Right Side Up To Work Anyway.
