Miklos Rozsa was a Hungarian-born award winning composer and conductor, best known for his numerous film scores. He is considered one of the "founding fathers of film music.
Rozsa and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra had a very good working relationship. When conducting the score of QUO VADIS as a re-recording there in the 1970s, Rozsa recognized a few players who were part of the orchestra back in 1951, when Rozsa conducted the original QUO VADIS score.
Regarding the music of The Red Danube,it was performed by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The orchestra leader was Erich Gruenberg and was conducted my the master himself-Miklos Rozsa [in 1977].
