Such a LEGEND! Bravo Croatia, Bravo Doris, she was really the BEST in Jerusalem 1999! Maria Magdalena FOR EVER! I remember that Norway wanted to disqualify this song from Eurovision, and once again Scandinavian loby did the job, Tonci Huljic was right, but he must try once more to bring Eurovision to Croatia!

Why did norway try to disquylify this song??

This was the first year without the live orchestra in the Eurovision, and before the contest everybody made it's backing track, and on Croatian there were some male voices, and Norway protested and wanted to disqualify Croatia, in favor Sweden who was the biggest concurrent to Doris. I'm sure that Maria Magdalena will stay forever as one of the best non winning songs ever! Well done Doris!

WOW...Its the first time I have heard Doris Dragovic sing in English!...Such a powerful voice.... I agree, this song should have won. However, I remember singing in 1986 (yes I am that old!) for Yugoslavia in Croatian (Zeljo moja) and wow...I still love that song too!
