Wow. It's been a long time since I saw the movie. I didn't realize when I initially saw this that the music you added when the wormhole opened was not originally there. It fits perfectly in the sequence. I love it. :D
I love the movie and the music for conveying a sense of wonder about the universe that seems to be missing from life today.
Wow, when I first saw this a long time ago, and then SG-1, I barely noticed any differences in the CG. Now looking at each, The CG in this isn't as...realistic...as I remember. MGM must've spent a lot for SG-1's effects, they look better then even a lot of movies at the time.
I like both the movie and show. It seems to me actors like Kurt Russel or James Spader wouldn't work well on a TV show, vise versa for SG1 actors. Shanks did a great job of emulating Spaders portrayal of Jackson too imo.
I do wish they had found a more similar way of dialing for the show. Don't get me wrong, I love the top Chevron locking each in but maybe they could have had each chevron have the symbol move to it and then lock in and glow? Idk, I love the moving chevrons. That noise however, Not so fond of that, *Kachink*
@66kcmiller well if a gate is left open it creates feedback radiation so if a gate is used multiple times to drill a hole i worry about the radioactive effects of such an action
@66kcmiller no as you probably saw in that episode where they couldnt close the gate the irus got very hot thats would would happen if you over used the gate
The law applies to timetravel, not interstellar travel. Even if I'm wrong, the fact remains that a Stargate will not remain open if there is nothing entering the event horrizon.
If the gate detects something, even a radio signal, it will remain open for up to 38 minutes. If not, the Gate shuts down. So even if there were feedback radiation, the Gate would always remain open regardless and users would have to shutdown the gate manually.
@DragonJedi0 There must be an energy vs. frequency threshold because there is EM pretty much everywhere. The visible light coming through is prob higher energy than any radio transmission.
@Olikiscrazy Yeah, but keep in mind that light waves are random and radio signals are constant. The gate only remains open for constant energy/matter entering the event horizon.
i like more the stargate with lights xD
Awesome movie BTW

@jackoneill45 I agree and think the whole "Movie vs TV Show" thing is a little silly.

Why don't they use the gate as a drill already!?!

@Chrisindapurplehouse Wait, it does? I thought the ancients put in some fail safes to prevent something like that.

Chrisindapurplehouse 11 months ago
@Chrisindapurplehouse no, that was because that goa'uld (which I can't remember the name of) was shooting a particle cannon at the gate!
66kcmiller 10 months ago
@66kcmiller no this was way before then
Chrisindapurplehouse 10 months ago
@Chrisindapurplehouse no, i mean, that was why the iris was heating up, not because he was dialing in so much
66kcmiller 10 months ago
@66kcmiller just watch the show and its in there somewhere and its also a law of physics that feedback radiation would happen
Chrisindapurplehouse 10 months ago
@Chrisindapurplehouse don't have netflix anymore, and the contract for hulu ended back in January, so, CAN'T.

i like how the chevrons move instead of only the seventh and how the eventhorisen shoots out the back of the gate
MrXxzoidbergxX 1 year ago 5
@MrXxzoidbergxX its cool but its better sence wise to only shoot out the front.i mean the back of the gate room would always have a gaping hole
