i think that is just the start menu of suse 11 not of kde 4 it self. i use suse 10.3 and i am able to switch between the kde style menu and the suse 10.3 menu

I've been looking around these KDE 4.0 vids and would have agreed with you prior to coming across this one. To apokryphos7: Great job demonstrating all those features!  Your video gave me a great sense of why so many people are so excited about KDE 4.0. While I plan on sticking with Gnome as my primary window manager for the time being, it's great to see these all these fantastic developments in opensource software.
