Me and my boyz played against LB up in houston cuz my friend knows him and it was cool with him to play a quick pickup game he beat me bad but it was all good he couldnt get a dunk on me not today ;)
In their primes, if they were to play 1 on 1, Jordan would win no doubt. If the 48 year old Jordan played the 26 year old Lebron, depending on the rules of the pickup game, Lebron would probably win. Michael Jordan was voted the greatest athlete of the 20th century for a reason.
One additional note, Jordan looked up to players like Julius Erving AKA Dr. J. and Magic Johnson, Oscar Robinson, Larry Bird, George Gervin AKA "The Ice Man" who invented the finger roll that the young guys still can't do it like he did. So, every player leaves a legacy when they are great. And that doesn't mean we have to compare who's the best just respect the game. Fyi, I left a great deal of names off of my short list of greats, no disrespect intended. I was just making a point.
One additional note, Jordan looked up to players like Dr. J. or Julius Irving and Magic Johnson, Oscar Robinson, The original Ice Man that invented the finger roll that the young guys still can't do like he did. So, ever player leaves a legacy when they are great. And that doesn't mean we have to compare who's the best just respect the game.
If you were too young to remember Jordan when he played in the NBA, you probably would think LeBron is a better player than Kobe or Jordan. Honestly, Jordan has done things in this game that no one will probably ever do again. That's how great he was. LeBron is the future of the NBA and I am sure people will be saying the same about him when he retires. But, Jordan and his student, Kobe are in a league of their own.
told yall in the pass comments lebron wasent gonna getta ring...lol. im glad jason kidd gotta ring before he retires, even tho hes gonna be around for 2 more years probably
In a couple of years he can be greater than MJ, right now hes only 25. MJ is the greatest scorer, but Lebron is the better all round player/ passing, Defense
This is just a video game, but also it's about leading a team to rings, not winning on 1v1 lol. I put the rookie MJ on the crappy Timberwolves while I was a different team in my dynasty. The rookie MJ brought Minnesota to the 2nd round of the playoffs lol.
@KartKing4ever NO! i don't disagree that MJ is the greatest of all time but he is the greatest for what he did for the game of basketball, he revolutionized it, MJ is the reason that basketball is played the way it is today this fast paced high tempo offensive style, but i guarantee you this by the time Lebron retires he will shatter every individual record that MJ holds.
@MrSecr3ts hahahaha yea right...lebron gotta get a ring first, then lets talk about him even comming close to shattering any of MJ's records :) but we all know thats never gonna happen, lebron is gonna be another charles barkley whinning that he wants a ring.
@soulademics rings is a team achievement, a mans greatness isnt measure by rings, he had a shit cavs team against the mighty spurs, and his heat were no where deeper then the mavs...
look at barkley and reggie miller, they were beasts and only 2 finals apperance between them both lol
@KartKing4ever i agree completely 90's had some incredible basketball, and if it wasn't for MJ basketball would be about as obsolete as boxing only the hardcore fans would be left, but no one can deny the individual talent and skill of Lebron if you do you are just being ignorant or jealous, Lebron is the best overall player in the NBA, there are better scorers like kobe, melo, and KD but none of them have the all around game that Lebron does that is why he is the best player in the nba
@MrSecr3ts i dont think lebron will be better then mj at all, but Lebron has a great chance of being the 2nd greatest (he still can though). and be the greatest athlete to never win a championship in his sport. he probably will, but if he doesn't its right their for him.
@MrSecr3ts 6× NBA Champion 5× NBA MVP, 6× NBA Finals MVP 10× NBA scoring champion 3× NBA steals champion NBA Defensive Player of the Year 9× NBA All-Defensive First Team NBA Rookie of the Year NBA All-Rookie First Team 3× NBA All-Star Game MVP 2× NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion #23 Retired by Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat hahahahahaha yeah right buddy hes already been in the nba for 8 years no way in hell is he even going to come clase
@MrSecr3ts yeah actually can deny it. His fundamental skills are fairly poor. The strength he has is power, which will leave him sooner than he thinks as he approaches and reaches the thirties. Also do you really think that LeBron will be around long enough to break all of jordan's records. For example, do you think he has it in him to win 10 more scoring titles? I doubt he will be around for 10 more seasons.
@MrSecr3ts stfu. Can lebron clutch all the people like jordan? Can lebron shoot 3pts as good as jordan? can lebron dunk as good as jordan? Can lebron's freethrow % as good as jordan? FG? 3ptG? is lebron fast as jordan? is lebron a good ball handler as jordan? can he dunk from freethrow line? can he do a good creative and strategic layup as jordan? I dont think so.
@MrSecr3ts now explain, kindly, to us why did lebron is well known to be the great traveler in the nba? and yet to win any championship? he may shatter every record tht mj holds like u said but not at the nearest time possible. until and unless tht lebron guy, the king of traveler (sorry I cant help it. LOL), get himself matured enough to understand the game (basketball) fundamentally, then he may be doing what u are saying here dude. peace.
@MrSecr3ts 1) Lebron won't win Def POY 2) lebron won't win more than 6 championships 3) He won't shoot 50% for his career 3) He won't score 63 in the playoffs 4) He won't average 30pts for a career and 33ppg in the playoffs 4) He wont win 6 Finals MVPS 5) He wont hit 6 threes and score 35 pts in Finals half 6)He wont pass MJ whos at #2 on the all time steals list 7) I could go on forever baby but im outta characters!! but lebron will pass Jordan in rebounds and turnovers. awesome
@MrSecr3ts MJ dominated in a defensive era where hip checking was allowed and there was no 3 second defensive rule. In other words, the defensive systems were much tougher back then. If MJ was in today's league he would average 40ppg EASILY. I like LBJ but to compare him or ANYONE to him (yes including Kobe) or even say they he will shatter every record?? C'mon... MJ took a hiatus because the NBA was no longer challenge for him...
