  • @CheechUhRoo You can do things with the LT1, and get there a tad easier if it happens to be an LT4. There was one in my area, all motor still NA and was in the low 11's-high 10's...That means its beating much more than just GT500's....

  • @kphillips012 no they arent. a shelby cobra is a whole different car then a shelby gt500. no parts sharing or anything. then there is a mustang cobra which is were originally 5.0 fox bodies then NA 4.6 4v new edge mustangs then a supercharged 5.4 for the 2000 cobra r then they changed them to supercharged 4.6s. made by svt. not carrol shelby. all of these cars are not shelby gt500s so suk it

  • the ls2 gto is the most underated car out here! you can buy a very nice low mile 05-06 gto for under $20k and go run 13.0s or spend $35k for a new camaro and run the same time. choose wisley.

  • @BLACKLACDTS Except the new camaro has more potential due to the increased displacement, the IRS is MUCH MUCH better, has more wheel and tire options and doesn't need a mini tub to run some fatties in the rear, granted it isn't near as comfortable as the goat and isn't as unique, but if money was no object and I had to choose the two, I'd pick the Camaro. And I owned a goat and just tried to buy another one.

  • @fattommy16 live axle is better for launching. In some cases an irs will get destroyed from a harrd launch but the lra can handle more

  • @fattommy16 @Texarmageddon The IRS in the GTO isnt that great stock either, you need to cut, roll, pull, and get a rear coilover conversion kit and modified A-arms from gforce in order to even get a 295 under there with out a mini tub... :/ then you need a drive shaft the gto comes with a gay ass 2 piece drive shaft weakest part of the whole car right there then you need new half axles.... oh and @BLACKLACDTS the 04 GTO's are a 5.7 and the 05-06's are a 6.0 and the only difference is the stoke..

  • @mspanomc it must have cut the heads and bore off, but i was only reffeering to the engine, the trans is the same through out the years M6 or A4 the only aero change was the hood and the rear bumper (mainly cosmetic) the swaybars are the same size only added one up front i believe (might be wrong there) the exhaust is 2.5 and dual with a cross over vs the 04 2.25 with no cross over, and the 05-06 is dual side exit, bigger breaks (not sure how much bigger) might sit lower too? but not sure.

  • @nstewart636 Trans is somewhat the same. 04 auto is 4L60e, 05-06 4L65e. When rebuilding the 4L60e it can easily be upgraded to a 4L65e. 04 brakes sit considerably lower. There are some other minor differences. Electronic Throttle on the LS2. You're right though, the 04s when modded basically become the 05-06. Most guys stroke to 427s anyways.

  • @nstewart636 Everyone hops on the supercharge boat, but if you can fabricate go with a turbo, or two. I've got pretty good with it and am debating throwing together a twin setup based off of APS's kit. It is still costly and a lot of work, but in the end, in my opinion, it would be better than a S/C.

  • @mspanomc if i supercharge it, its for the low end tq, and i dont know how bad the turbo lag would be on one of these. is this the kit your talking about? why build it when you can order it from the assuies btamotorsports has a kit for the commodore which is an ls engine as well

  • @nstewart636 I'll build it because I know how and can, haha. It would save a few thousand doing it that way too. You can get that low end torque from a turbo, especially from the LSx motor. What are your goals for the car? Set your goals and pick the proper turbo for it. If you don't mind me asking, where are you located? I'm always willing to help locals, and I have a solid background in using HPTuners software. My advice, set your goal for what you want, and we can find the right turbo. :)

  • @mspanomc I like to do autox a little but mainly street. Im not worried about the HP... YET lol im more worried about taking care of the stock weaknesses first such as suspension, from every bushing, coilovers all around, subframe connectors, swaybars top and bottom, strut tower bar. CCW 19X10r 19X9f is first on the list. Then LS3 heads, TVS2300 HE power chamber. And thats my plan so far. Im in baghdad right now, but im stationed at fort riley KS

  • @nstewart636 Check out the SCCA and do some NASA events. Get that suspension fixed. It's a world of difference. In all honestly, coilovers are nice, but for the purpose of the rear of our cars, they aren't going to help much at all, even on some turns. If you get a package it's no big deal, no harm, but you can get away with getting struts and springs. Have fun installing the front sway bar, haha. If you like road racing, don't even boost your power. Put ALL your money in a big brake kit!

  • The CCWs are nice. Pretty high end. If you want to add some power, the heads, in my opinion, are the most important piece of equipment to spend money on. Buy the best heads you can get. Spend on the nicest set. Hell if you can even check out some custom sets with lower valve angles, go for it. I know the S/C seems appealing, but trust me, if done right, the turbo will get you the low end you want, along with some great top end.

  • @mspanomc I was looking at the BC ER package, but its only front coilovers and rear struts and springs.. how do our cars not do a lot better with coilovers vs the upgraded rear struts and springs? besides if you get the rear coilovers it gives you more room for bigger wheels.

  • @nstewart636 Here is how my setup is starting. I'm using the cast manifolds from the LQx trucks. They are perfect for custom turbo setups, especially for twin turbo, and are considerably better than the ones that came stock on the LSx. Secondly, get the biggest intercooler you can get to fit under the hood. You want to keep the internal temps down in the car as much as you can. There is no doubt in my mind that with proper cooling and tuning, our blocks can withstand 900hp. However....
