Most of Malware comes NOT with Magic to the PC´s , it comes over the Internet . In this Case Norton protect very good. That is the Point you not say in your Video. Your Test is a fail...
Done what you said lang put comodo on my system. I like it a lot better picked some things up that my other one didnt so I am happy with that result so think I will buy the full version.
I just did a test with Norton internet security 2011 and let it scan a folder with 5922 trojan samples, it only detected 2137 of them ! HitmanPro detected 4546 trojans.
Uninstalled Norton, installed Comodo internet security 2011 and let Comodo scan the folder, Comodo detected 5872 trojans, not bad :).
The trojans can be found on the internet, if you google "6000 trojan sample pass-auToeXeCw0rm.rar", can someone verify these findings ?
one reason comodo is good for protecting u is because of there sandbox. everytime languy99 sandboxes something, most likely the app just terminates its self. so languy, could u make those comodo reviews without the sandbox? because i think that if any other anti-virus had a sandbox like comodo, it would be wayy improved.
I have just a small qwestion to ask. I can just not pick the best security package. I love your work lang guy have watched most of you reviews. I am 18 years old so have a lot of usage out of my laptop surfing the web dowloading all the time and have had 3 reboots this year over virises any thought on what package I should buy for me and my family?
@BC0046400 Why not try CIS v5 and see how you like it. You have nothing to loose, it is free and fairly easy to use. If you have people who don't know how to use a computer you can lock down CIS with parental controls so they will never see a pop up from it.
@ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed from what I was told, the program is not malicious but the way the company operates is not within acceptable standards anymore so they have been removed from the trusted list. They are also going over all of the trusted list and double checking everything on it.
Languy, I will give you the reason why people think Comodo is bad.
Install Comodo on an old lady's computer, she will have a meltdown trying to learn what SVCHost, COM, sys32, etc. is. Also, the pop-ups are stupid with the information they provide, it should be simpler, smaller, and lighter instead of shutting down your game when playing so you can click Allow for the game to save. The sandbox protects the computer, but it's a pain to LET the program run without a sandbox after you sandbox it.
sorry people I did not cheat, you guys are just sore that Norton failed and I don't know why. You don't work for them, you don't have anything to gain by trying to bad mouth me. Get over it and move on.
@languy99 yeah we not work for them, we are just using it, but u definetly work for comodo. no matter what u say. its pretty bad that a simple software has such a big sentimental feelings for you. get over it and try to relax, go out and smell the fresh air. no problem if u remove this message, i know you red it.
Comodo for experienced users like Languy will provide the best protection because what gets past the defensive barrier will be caught by the firewall 100% and there Languy knows exactly what he should do.
There's a reason it's called Norton Internet Security, it protects you from downloading malware to. By executing the malware when it's already on the computer, the chances for norton to detect the malware is reduced, I do keep in mind that it will be the same thing for CIS, but CIS and NIS are different programs and that means that they work differently, I think that if you had downloaded the malware through links in a browser then Norton would have blocked a lot more malware
finally registry easy and registry were found nice part 2 very disappointing that norton did poorly it does well when you throw 10 links at it but not present malware
@ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed not for YouTube Partners. Check out mrizos, he is a youtube partner and he uploads 30+ minutes because of that. Languy can do it too, because he is a partner, btw planning on testing COMODO v5 today!
@ballader1 I know for avrage users they can upload up to 10 mins but partners up to 15 but I think matt is kind of super partner or something like that
@ahmeeeeeeeeeeeed when?, sometime ago YT disabled the ability for partners to upload large videos, but it got reenabled on 25th of August, Languy99 should check his large video's size and if it's big then he should use the Java uploader
why did you changed settings in COMODO? (Enabled Cloud Scanning) (Not a Symantec fanboy, but still i think that testing in stock configuration is the best.)
@ballader1 Cloud Scanner is enabled by default for background scan, but not for manual full scan (because it slows it down), but I don't think it made a difference though.
@KodamaNoKoe actually it did, because the cloud scan scans files with the latest version of their database in realtime, so I am pretty sure it improved the results ;)
@ballader1 @11:05, you can see the scanner detected 7 viruses in the zip (the same it removed before the test) and one more with the heuristic (maybe created with another virus). The heuristic isn't based on signature.
@KodamaNoKoe 9 were found in the full scan, 1 was the heuristic, so we have 8, COMODO in the start detected 7, so thanks to the cloud scan 1 more thing was detected
@languy99 Thanks for this review, this is much realistic situation than first review! Looks like this is one more prove that Comodo is the best product on market! And Norton IS 2011 fails again! But this Firewall and D+ popups are very annoying. They should work on this, and they will have much better product! J am having one more question. Do they have plans to create Anti-virus for MAC users? Thanks!
NIS really failed this test. The one thing that I noticed about CIS is that you really need to know what you are doing when you respond to a popup. I don't know if people would know that some of those actions and may think that flash needs to hook in like that. We know that was a fake flash installer, but would someone else? So, if you really know what you are doing, CIS can protect you. NIS just failed. Interesting results. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
@SchaduwBlink That's why you should click "Sandbox" if you don't know what's happening or you're not sure (that's what languy99 did in the video). But you should ask yourself some questions if you see a popup from Defense+, because it doesn't happen very often (due to the vendor trust list).
The most common popups you may see are the auto sandbox (but you don't have to do anything in this case) and the firewall popup if an app try to access internet.
Nice Review, very shocking results, i expected both products, to end up with s perfect score. i just don't understand why Norton failed. Anyways nice test, and COMODO did a fantastic job.
